Good morning, the temp is 45°F and going to a high of 59. Wind SW 5 mph. Sunny!

Today, I am going to put a 'fly' over the roof of the tractor shelter logic building.

The stick on LED lights were a bust, the lights work but the self sticking stickum on them doesn't work. Nor does putting double sided tape then sticking the lights to the tape, then to the dash. I will need to screw them onto the dash. That'll wait until spring.

Got quite a bit done yesterday...mulching leaves and working in the garage.
Today, continue in the garage...definitely get those driveway markers out.
On a sadder note, I'm going to visit my neighbors. The wife, Kim, has advanced cancer and a couple weeks ago, her husband, Tim, said the prognosis was was 6 weeks to 2 months left. She's on oxygen and morphine now...if I don't stop by today, might not have any chance to see her again...
I wanted to go over two weeks ago, but my stepdaughter had been exposed to covid-19 and that means my wife and I may have been as well.
At least the pain from the sciatica is abating somewhat...

BEF, check out beaded board for your porch ceiling, either in strips or in 4x8 panels...stain or paint. We are happy with ours.

May have wasted a few hours yesterday...backpacked sprayed the driveway...been waiting for a time when there was no wind and it was dry, and I was home, of course, to do it...yesterday my 3 month wait ended and I went to it...lots of clover, grass and weeds have grown in the gravel due to all of the rain. Will find out if these plants are active enough for the gly to put them to sleep. Did some mowing, too. More to do.

Another beautiful day here. It’s about 44 outside now, headed to the 70’s.
Got all the mowing done yesterday, spent some time figuring out how to get the post hole digger on a dolly, making it easier to store and move around. They have to be one of the most awkward 3PT attachments to handle. I think that I have a good solution now, but I had to use an overhead hoist to make it an easy one (Old) man operation.

Pulled all the yellow tags off the manure bin lumber. It looks like it will take quite a while to fill.

The Alpacas are my wife’s endeavor, she shears them and sells the fleece as well as finished goods at local farmers markets. My cut is a lifetime supply of the best socks that you could ever want.

Not sure what’s on tap for today yet, probably attempt to tidy up the shop some.

Frist cup of of coffee has been poured. 37° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 71° with sunny skies. Great weather continues. Got oil and spark plugs changed in whole house generator. Found that it was not starting properly. Tested, weak battery. Need to get new one soon. Going to start leaf clean up today. I have help for the next week. My aunt is staying with me.

Popgadget, if you buy any of them casters. Make sure they have air in them before leaving store. If they do not have air in them at store. Good chance the will not hold air later.

Buckeye, I put Vinyl soffit in ceiling of back porch. Bird did the same at his place. Looked very good when I visited him. Nice campfire.

Wngsprd, I have found that Gly needs 70° and warmer to work. Should work since you are getting temperatures above that.

Thomas, good luck getting chains on tractor.

RNG, I have some of those HF dollies. Make sure you put some good lube on the wheel axles and swivels.

40 out now going all the way up to 77 today, close to a record.
Interestingly air quality alert out, the cause of which I have no idea as pollen count
shows low.

glad it's going to get warmer, headed off to church this morning for outside worship, taking a folding chair and a couple layers of clothes I can peel off.
Hopefully next Sunday we can come inside. Lot of older members of Meeting, lots of concern over disease.
My donation to the overall good is a Hepa 13 air purifier, a bag of 50 masks, bottle of hand sanitizer and a forehead thermometer, taking them with me today for use
in near future.

48–77 today, foggy now. Had two deer in the soybeans, no camera in my hand.

I’ve found with glyphosate that as Ron said, below 70° it’s much slower to work, another thing I found is if it doesn’t rain or have heavy dew in the first couple of days, you can mist the area with water and as it sucks in the water it pulls the weeds killer with it. But wait at least 24 hours so you don’t wash it off.

Church service, usual morning chores, feeding indoor and outdoor critters, then off to father in law’s house for some major cleaning and rearranging. We will concentrate on the house today and start on the three big barns full of tractors, his homemade carriages, kiddie train, antique machinery and hundreds of other things, another time.
He is 84 and not as spunky since his heart surgery. He has around 20 tractors, most of which you could get on and use today. Antique washing machines, liquor stills and goodness knows what else.

Roy, sorry about your neighbor, you can only hope it’s as quick and pain free as possible. Went through that with my late brother’s wife in ‘04, they gave her 6 months, a week later they said 6 weeks, three weeks later she was gone.

Did more on the Front Porch yesterday. Sigh....tedious work. Had to take a few sheets of vinyl off, wife noticed some long ripples in them. No big deal. I have a huge waste pile. Only four seams on the entire front porch run from end to end. LOL. No big deal as I can use them for the barn. Wife was helping yesterday, she was putting them up as fast as I was hand cutting them. Unfortunate I have nice blisters on my hands now. Could not get gloves that fit my cutting tool.

Those lawns are amazing. Mine is over 4 inches high, but we still see the cut pattern. Hope to get to it...soon.

Sorry about your neighbor, Roy. Good that you are going over there. It's tough.

We have quite a few Alpaca and Lama farms around us. Interesting animals.

My neighbor did not make it she died. Her husband was at the hospital with her constantly the last few weeks. This is the neighbor that was having a hard time being diagnosed in March. So neighbors on one side of me got covid and it was like a minor flu for them and the other neighbor was unfortunate to get sick during these "trying times" . She will be buried in her home town up North. I'll give their/his yard good weed eating, mowing and weed pulling while he is gone.

There are lots of enquiring minds on "Good morning", many will be wondering how long will it take for 40 Alpacas to fill your new bin. My question though is once the bin is half full, will you be providing a ramp to make it easier for them to get up there ?

I want to know how he trains them to poop in the bin, and shouldn’t there be a door with a crescent moon?

Well, that HP Envy 5660 was a good printer for 4 years and, as I said, they've sent me emails saying no service available, obsolete, etc. so after looking at Walmart and such, I went back to Best Buy and got an HP Envy 7155. It looks like the old one, uses the same ink cartridges, etc. just cost about $50 more than the one did 5 years ago.

Now I've been paying Best Buy $99 a year and can take a computer in for them to fix anytime at no cost, or call and ask questions on the phone. Today I went for the $199 plan that takes care of the computers when needed, but also provides in home service for most other things for $50. And to start with . . . I'm gonna pay'em $50 for their technician to come "install" this new printer, pair it up with both my laptop and my notebook computers, etc. Yep, I'm gettin' old and lazy.

Everything is always changing. I said I was going to let their technician install the new printer, but yesterday morning, I had just a few things I wanted to print; about 6 pages. SO . .. I went ahead and installed it, got it paired up with both my computers and everything working as it should.:cool2:

Phil, the paver walkway looks great! I have always liked pavers, and cobblestone streets for some weird reason....

Rip, hope the siding goes easier for the completion of the project. Those ripples were the only thing I hated about vinyl siding. Some would always show up somewhere, no matter how careful not to install it too tight...

Don, sorry to hear about your neighbor too... sad.

I got all the yard cleanup done yesterday, really wasn't too bad. Then I was able to get some progress out in the shop yesterday, more of the sanding of the planks done. Today will be more of the same, hoping to get to a partial assembly, but that's wishful thinking.

Exactly what I was thinking, Paul. Except my experience with pneumatic tires and tubes from HF is pretty bad. They just won't hold air, and every time I went to move something that used them, I had to remount or air up the tires. Probably shop at McMaster-Carr for something that's less trouble, and worth the extra cost in the long run.

Same experience as you all with glyphosate once the temps drop. It still works, but might take an extra week or two before the results show.

Is there steel under your dash, Mike? If so, maybe you could use some of those super magnets to hold your red light district in place?:confused2:

First camera I wanted to place yesterday was a doorbell cam, but there was no access from the attic to that outside wall to run the wires. The house has never had a doorbell, so I had to install one of those, too. Ended up drilling through a couple of walls to reach from the wiring closet to the front door frame, then popping off some molding at the top of the door to drill another hole from outside to in where the chime would mount. That's when I learned that the transformer I purchased was defective, so back it goes (free return shipping with Prime) and an easier to use replacement will be here tomorrow.

Gonna rig a looooong RG45 cable today and make some temporary camera placements to check out the views. I'd like a camera on each side of the house, but I'm not sure if I want them in the middle of the side or on the corners.

For some reason Squeak elected not to go on safari this morning when I opened the door to the garage.

Large flock of good-sized black birds (color, not kind) raising a ruckus out at the feeders this morning.

Need to refill bird feeders then maybe on to working on culvert crossing, some more clean up outside.
