Drew, sorry to hear about the missing photos, no one can take your memories though...

I got so worked up over this I had to email my brother and ask him if by some chance there were more paintings there.
He went down to his basement and found three more boxes, and he thinks from my descriptions they are all there.
Thank goodness. I'm going there for Thanksgiving and will bring them home.
This stuff was simply irreplaceable...like the pic of my father and I in the cockpit of an old wooden sportfisherman we went out in on my college scouting trip we made to NC in 1966.
We went out the Outer Banks and I was sick as a dog the whole time. And never been seasick since, mostly because I was driving the boat. We went to UVA, Duke and UNC that trip.
Duke was the only one that turned me down, but ultimately I decided to go to Brown in New England to try to avoid the hard drinking social life. Of course when I got there, there was not
only tons of booze but every variation of pot, hashish and LSD one could imagine. Thankfully most of which I stayed far away from. The late 60's was quite a time to be in college.

luckily heard Amazon van show up as the guy was piling boxes outside in the pouring rain. My weather station came but waiting until tomorrow when the pole mount shows up.
Also my ozone generator showed up, and have that running now in basement. Breathing that stuff gave me an instant mild headache and irritated sinuses. I set the timer on three hours, put a floor fan on low, and shut the door to the basement. Will go back down late this afternoon.

I stopped in a CarQuest auto parts store yesterday to buy some bungee cords, and took a flyer with me. Had a 20 percent off coupon in it if I ordered online. So since I needed some car
wash and wax and a clay bar kit, put in an order yesterday with free shipping and my discount. Not only did it show up this morning, but unlike Amazon, all the liquid stuff was packed inside
a zip lock bag and the whole thing was packed carefully. Very impressive delivery and less expensive than Amazon.
I want to use the clay bar on the front of the audi to get the bugs off, and then going to try some Turtle Wax
"ceramic" spray wax that was highly rated. Need to wait for warmer dry day.

Steady hard rain out now, with winds predicted to increase to 35mph this afternoon. Leaves are going to fly
Drew try a dryer sheet with water will take the bugs right off!!!

Bird, be careful. A broken hip will not be fun. My mom is also doing some late in life estate planning. we don't know if it's better to deed the house before she passes on, or to have a good will and let it go that way.

Yep, most (not all, of course, but most) of those I've known of breaking a hip don't live long afterwards. As for deeding the house . . . I don't know. We have a reverse mortgage on our house, and naturally it should be worth more than will be owed on it when we die and I read in some of their material that our heirs will have up to a year to try to sell it themselves. And my wife and I do have wills.

Bird are there trip hazards around your house that you can eliminate or are the feet just not moving quick enough?

No "unusual" trip hazards for the most part. The first fall this month was when I tripped on the garden hose I was watering the yard with. The second fall I'd say was a "hazard" in a neighbor's yard next door. The grass had gotten way too tall, and the water meter cover was missing when I stepped in that hole. Then I just failed to pick up my old feet and tripped on the step coming from the yard onto the deck. One fall in house was putting my pants on just standing instead of sitting on the side of the bed. In other words, stupidity. And the last was when I was holding a recliner tilted forward with one hand while reaching with the other hand for the heaing aid I'd dropped and had gone under the chair.

Bird, hope you can stay upright, glad no serious injuries from the falls. Take care!

Yeah, just need to use a little common sense and be more careful.

Wife sent me a text message earlier that she signed for a package for me. It would seem I have a new guitar waiting for me at home.

The rain that looked like it was going to dissipate earlier this morning decided to stick around all day instead. It's just now starting to move off to the southeast.

I guess you would call this good afternoon.
Temp 30°F, low tonight 28. Wind NNE 11 gusting to 21 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

Timmins trip was uneventful. I slept in a motel last night due to a definite lack of sleep from the day before.I had to shovel a foot of snow off the Jeep. Left Timmins this morning at 06:30 and arrived in South River at 11:30 and stopped for breakfast. So it was about a 4 1/2 hour trip that normally in the big truck takes me 6 hours. Filled the Jeep in Timmins 21 US gallons (80 Litres) the tank only holds 94. Got to SR and the idiot light for the fuel was on. You know the light that says that if you don't get gas REAL soon you will be walking. Well, I found out that the light comes on and I still have 15L (3.96 US gallons) of fuel in the tank. $108.72 cdn. I can tell you from experience that there is no carbon in the engine, now. 130 kph/80mph has a tendency to blow the carbon out. I was more concerned with getting home than I was with fuel mileage.

Have a good afternoon/evening all
