Good morning!!!!

Good morning to all! Low of 25, going up to 56 and sunny! Not a cloud in the sky to be seen! We'll see how fast the snow will melt off. The forecasted temps for the weekend will be around 60! Talk about the temp roller coaster!

Drew, sorry to hear about the missing photos, no one can take your memories though... hope you will be able to get the rugs spread out soon.

Bird, hope you can stay upright, glad no serious injuries from the falls. Take care!

Rip, hope the battle with the insurance isn't too hard, especially if you have the Dr's backing you. I had a similar experience when I had injured my knee.... they took a bunch of X-rays and sent me to PT. It wasn't until the pain was excruciating, an a third Dr asked if an MRI was done. He was dumbfounded as to why there was none. He ordered it, and he saw major damage, immediately suspended the PT, and scheduled surgery within a week! Gone are the days of an experienced Dr being able to diagnose without getting a pre-approval.

Eric, good luck with catching the tiny fish! Even more luck is needed to tie those tiny hooks! Enjoy the peace and tranquility sitting out there waiting.

RNG, that sounds like a good deal.... hoses and fittings are expensive! Far more than the postage to return the valve. Hopefully it won't take 2 months to get the valve from Fit-Right.... Good to hear of a little forward progress with the solar panels.....maybe those crickets can help figure out the rest of the punch list. Didn't you mention that you had some final payment withheld? If so, maybe remind the owner of that....

PJ, hopefully you'll get a nice package in the mail by the weekend! I think I remember it was a guitar.... maybe all the customs personnel were having a good time playing it and getting it tuned for you.....

Ron, sorry to hear about the expensive wrench. I think I have only had 4 flats in the last 40 years or so, 3 of which were found in the driveway in the morning. Only the most recent one happened while driving. It wasn't a blowout, but a fast leak down over about a mile. Ended up being a 3" lag bolt.
Tractor is lookin' good!

Don, I hope you find the source of the mystery sound....it is approaching halloween .... we are the opposite... the wifey has great hearing and is always asking "what was that noise?".... I usually reply "I didn't hear anything".... not sure if it is due to my 'selective hearing', which I am told that I have!

Not sure if I'll get out to the shop today.... going to try to get something done on the entry bench project.

Everyone have a great day!

I reckon old age is overtaking me. I'm now older than any male member of my family has ever made it to. And I've fallen twice in the house, twice in then yard, and once on the back porch in the last month. No damage, or broken bones so far; just a few bruises and a little bleeding. My wife has an advanced case of COPD; stays on oxygen almost all the time. So today I'm taking our eldest daughter to my credit union to get her signed up on our bank accounts just in case we should become unable to handle things ourselves.

What Drew said.

Drew, sorry to hear about the missing photos, no one can take your memories though...

I got so worked up over this I had to email my brother and ask him if by some chance there were more paintings there.
He went down to his basement and found three more boxes, and he thinks from my descriptions they are all there.
Thank goodness. I'm going there for Thanksgiving and will bring them home.
This stuff was simply irreplaceable...like the pic of my father and I in the cockpit of an old wooden sportfisherman we went out in on my college scouting trip we made to NC in 1966.
We went out the Outer Banks and I was sick as a dog the whole time. And never been seasick since, mostly because I was driving the boat. We went to UVA, Duke and UNC that trip.
Duke was the only one that turned me down, but ultimately I decided to go to Brown in New England to try to avoid the hard drinking social life. Of course when I got there, there was not
only tons of booze but every variation of pot, hashish and LSD one could imagine. Thankfully most of which I stayed far away from. The late 60's was quite a time to be in college.

luckily heard Amazon van show up as the guy was piling boxes outside in the pouring rain. My weather station came but waiting until tomorrow when the pole mount shows up.
Also my ozone generator showed up, and have that running now in basement. Breathing that stuff gave me an instant mild headache and irritated sinuses. I set the timer on three hours, put a floor fan on low, and shut the door to the basement. Will go back down late this afternoon.

I stopped in a CarQuest auto parts store yesterday to buy some bungee cords, and took a flyer with me. Had a 20 percent off coupon in it if I ordered online. So since I needed some car
wash and wax and a clay bar kit, put in an order yesterday with free shipping and my discount. Not only did it show up this morning, but unlike Amazon, all the liquid stuff was packed inside
a zip lock bag and the whole thing was packed carefully. Very impressive delivery and less expensive than Amazon.
I want to use the clay bar on the front of the audi to get the bugs off, and then going to try some Turtle Wax
"ceramic" spray wax that was highly rated. Need to wait for warmer dry day.

Steady hard rain out now, with winds predicted to increase to 35mph this afternoon. Leaves are going to fly

70°F and no rain but quite overcast with that cold front bearing down.

Project continuation, weather permitting. Would be nice to get that door set in place. Supposed to be universal type and I think I want to change over to right panel opening.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

40-60 mph winds are now predicted for today, 35/50 tonight with heavy rain over the next several hours. We are near an inch so far. Calling for 2”+, I’m not convinced we will get all that looking at the radar and direction of precipitation movement.
We took the flag down, anything over 40 mph makes me nervous, I just bought the flag about 6 weeks ago and it’s a little bigger than the previous ones, it’s 4x6, so more sail area.
It’s dead calm right now, the calm before the storm I suppose.

Currently 44F and raining steadily @ 12:30, high of 49F.

Ten Day shows possibility of a hard freeze in the Friday forecast (would be first one here) and another on Sunday. Also rain ending on Monday for 6 days, with warmer temps (highs in the 60's) starting on Wednesday. Might be able to get last mowing, leaf clean up, and rest of winter prep done ... if that actually materializes ...

Woken up early the other morning before it was light out ... Orange Cat going completely psycho at visitor cat on deck at back sliding glass door ... :confused2: ... yesterday it was The Squeak rapidly clawing at the door to fend off the (same) intruder (white and grey cat) ... ... yesterday afternoon we had a new visitor ... another (new) Orange cat ... seems like the bird feeders aren't only attracting birds ...

Have spent several days going through and organizing paperwork, still more to do on that but making good progress.

Got the divider screwed in (top, bottom, and side) on barn owl nest box, also slots cut in top door and hinges installed. Still have to do that on the clean-out door on the side. Finally located the printed out instructions while I was sorting out paperwork.

UPS driver delivered the Rust-Oleum Wipe New from Amazon ... unfortunately, before he ever got out of the truck to drop the package, the driver proceeded to execute a turnaround maneuver ... and ran over my carefully built and recently seeded berm around the catch basin ... ... leaving a big rut. Didn't know it before he left (The Woman took the package) but I spotted the mess shortly thereafter. I was livid ... Need to paint some long rebar stakes and drive them in the ground to mark driveway after I get last mowing done.

After being loaded on the truck up in Twinsburg last Saturday (?), the parts washer pump has apparently been lost ... so I requested that Amazon send a replacement. It's due in today.

Called Johnson Level and Tools day before yesterday about getting replacement vials for an old 2' aluminum level I have of theirs. Rep I spoke to asked me to email her a photo of the level which I did. Shortly after that I got an email from her saying that she was sending a new set of vials out (gratis) ... so I wrote her back and thanked her for the outstanding customer service ... good folks ...

Agenda for today: Probably refill bird feeders, feed fish, work on squirrel feeders and barn owl nest box plus other stuff.

Just a note: that wife of the Houston firefighter that I mentioned previously - the one who did NOT have to go into the ICU - she was hospitalized twice ...

Be safe out there folks ... this thing ain't over yet ... not by a long ways ... ;)

Don, I think your cat looks about how I feel if someone wakes me up. "Can't you see I'm sleeping here!!!!"

Drew, bungee cords vary so much in quality it is hard to tell which are the good ones. I tried some of the plastic ones from the boat store. They have a heavy pull which I liked but they only last one season. I would love to hear if you know which are the good ones.

Chris
