Good morning!!!!

65 and raining. Should be mid 70's today.

Got some front foundation mortar set yesterday. Seems one side of the house was really in need or it, all the "original" mortar looked to be on the ground. I guess when they put the porch floor on someone must have "worked" the rock foundation. No big deal, but just time consuming filling cracks and holes. I seriously got spent moving the mortar mix from the water source to the front of the house. After that workout, yes Kyle, the Wife decided to move some more dirt with her tractor. LOL. She even managed to find the lights, which did not do me any good trying to direct her like a plane landing on an aircraft carrier. Those lights are bright! Since I was assigned rake duty, the only thing saving me was darkness. I think she got done about half of what she wanted..so there is more misery in store for me when the rains let up.

Would you believe I am in a battle with my insurance company over my MRI? Some paper pusher just overrode three doctors and denied it. Says I need physical therapy. Man, when you have grinding and popping moving something, I don't think PT is going to help. To say nothing of the pain. So now, the last Doctor says they will take care of that. But of course, I need to reschedule, and that took like two days just to get on the schedule to begin with. Disappointed.

I may do some touch up painting today, or I may jump back down into the foundation and do more cleaning.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 38° with a few clouds this morning. Heading to 51° with cloudy skies. Got all the tools put away and things that can freeze put away in cellar. I have done enough in cellar for awhile. Time to mow lawn and pickup leaves. Will hook up Trak-Vac to JD today. Then finish getting garden pond ready for winter. Need to fill bird feeders.
Met one of my new neighbors yesterday. He wants a tractor. Have not told him about TBN yet.
Not much color at feeders yesterday. But lots of action.

David, your project looks impressive,

Wngsprd, hope you fixed the leak.

Drew, I have all my bills except for credit cards on Auto Pay. Has worked without problems for many years.

Thomas, hope weather holds off so you can get projects done.

Riptides, lot of work on front porch.

Mostly, no need for sanding on door. Wood I used in reclaimed knotty pine. Front side was varnished when it was installed on living room walls. Still have a few more boards left in barn loft.

Roy, JD Green looks good.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, wet and breezy here, Max is not keen on going out when it is like this, I think the falling leaves blowing in the wind are spooking him too.

I had intended to net some small fish (4"-6") from the top pond and transfer them to grow and breed in the one that was dug out this summer, however the water level up there is high and getting colder for wading, so instead the plan is now to have some fun catching them on a hook and transfer them a bucket at a time, spread out over a few days. Tying small hooks to nylon doesn't get any easier with age, this size 20 is my limit nowadays and even then I have to do it at a table in good light instead of with the wind blowing at the waterside.

Roy, 40 years without a flat is good going, typical though that it happens on a new tire. So you got a free chainsaw wrench for your trouble ?

It’s about 50 degrees and overcast, spitting rain, we are forecast to get 1.5-2 inches today. That means no work on the manure bin today.
Good day to clean up the shop and put away tools and supplies from last weeks projects.
Thanks for the welcomes, it feels like a comfy space here.

67-73 today, rain started overnight, .7” so far and another 1.5-2” expected. Rain through tomorrow with winds increasing to 40+. Near freezing tomorrow night.
Looks like a lot of cleanup after this system passes.

I got up at 6 to let Gracie out, she hates rain so she goes to the bottom of the steps and runs back to the door. By the time I sent her back and she found the perfect spot, she was soaked. I had to let her lie on her blanket and dry her off. I think my dog is spoiled.

Outdoor cats to feed, I’ll open the garage doors and set the food in there so they’re dry. Indoor cats have it made.

I wanted to keep the indoor cats at 2, but Ellen found two more she wanted, so we compromised, now we have 4. 🤣

Good day folks.

Well, with the rollback and tire shop costs, that a $145 chainsaw wrench...

I reckon old age is overtaking me. I'm now older than any male member of my family has ever made it to. And I've fallen twice in the house, twice in then yard, and once on the back porch in the last month. No damage, or broken bones so far; just a few bruises and a little bleeding. My wife has an advanced case of COPD; stays on oxygen almost all the time. So today I'm taking our eldest daughter to my credit union to get her signed up on our bank accounts just in case we should become unable to handle things ourselves.

Dennis, MRI's cost about five grand to insurance companies, PT much cheaper. They often want to see if you have tried A before they pay for B. But
if you haven't had a recent MRI, which is a diagnostic tool to inform subsequent medical action, seems pretty cheap on their part. Requires papering file to justify, which
is what you are having to do. Doctors write scrips for anything, insurance companies hate to pay for them...and I wonder if some docs are on a watch list for over prescribing.
I think I've had half a dozen MRI's in last few years, multiple CT's, and now regular PET scans. One of those CT's saved my life by finding my cancer...
Endocrinologist told me if I had an AIC for sugar monitoring more often than once every three
months, I would have to pay the 700 bucks myself, Medicare would decline. Lot of rules and regulations for sure.

Bird, keep your spirits up and stay vertical. Could there be a medical condition that is treatable that is causing vertigo for you?
You should have someone you trust totally be empowered with a medical and legal Power Of Attorney. Living Will is good too.

Eric, I'd need a magnifying glass to do that.

gentle rain falling, wind hasn't arrived yet. I've been hanging paintings, saddened by how many were sold that should have been kept. Like the only picture I had of my father and I
when I was a senior in high school. Or the one with my niece when she was just a little girl. Don't understand why they weren't kept, not the cost/value but the memories...

Good morning All. 52 was this morning’s low and is current temperature, as well. Not much change as high is forecast to be 55. It’s been raining here since 1am. About 1” so far with what I would call moderate rain right now. Like Randy, we expect heavier precip with wind later today.

We are having our first fire of the season so the house will be rid of the dampness and cozy/toasty in no time.

Today will be energy conservation with lots of reading while the remnants of Zeta pass. Tomorrow might bring some clean-up work.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Frank
