Good morning to all! The Low, fortunately, Did not drop as low as predicted.... only 29 vs. 9..... we also only got additional 2" of snow instead of 12". That's ok with me! They are still predicting a few inches are possible today, but a hazy sun was just peaking through the clouds.

We were able to get the pipes thawed, went to the local hardware store, and got a heat tape for that pipe. Then, in the process of installing the heat tape, found another line that was also frozen. Back to the hardware store for another heat tape. We got both flowing, and hopefully no further incidents....

OK, I am tired of the snow already..... and winter hasn't even arrived yet. Makes beautiful views, but also a lot of work.....

Ron, great pic of the blue jay. We only have Rocky Mountain Bluebirds, no jays. They are basically like blue sparrows .....

Having internet connection issues this morning.... some dish somewhere is snow / covered.....

Drew, hope you are able to get the voting issue all straightened out....

RNG, yes, it is amazing how some businesses get away with poor customer service, especially after the sale, and still get repeat sales. I hope you are able to get both those issues resolved within a reasonable time..... but, we do need another long running saga in order to keep us entertained....:D

PJ and Thomas, when I was still riding my Goldwing to work, I knew the favorite "deer hangouts" along the side of the road. I would always slow down approaching those areas anticipating a sudden suicidal deer. They would just stand there, about 4' off the roadway, look up to almost ask "WHAT?"... Fortunately, they never decided to jump in front of me. Maybe they were saying to each other..... " haha...we got another one to slow down ".

I gave up on doing reviews years ago, never really read them on the store or product sites. I will do internet research for 'real world' testing. Even then, not relying on those to be 100% accurate.

Welcome to Papgadget.... another member from the old stompin ground....

Wng, that is quite the porch project! Lookin' good so far! Anticipating some more progress pics. We always wanted to buy / live in / renovate / restore an old farmhouse.... that was when we were very young and didn't know any better! My SIL and BIL live in an old stone farmhouse in Upper Bucks Co. Pa. they have been working on it for the last 35 years that I know of, probably longer. It it a beautiful home now, but still not completely done. I don't think they will ever get it 'officially' complete!

Everyone have a great day!

69°F and .02 inches rain.

Trip to PO this morning. Otherwise continue on from yesterday with hopes of getting the kitchen window cut in.

Traced my internet wackiness to a router port setting. The mystery is how it got changed. No idea. Strangely, I had my TV and Apple TV take on a life of its own late Monday night where the HDMI port switch was changing on its own. Somehow related? No clue. Bad enough when things go awry and I know I caused it. I don’t need the unknown help

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I have deer/ bike story from 1982. I’d just bought a new V45 Magna (750cc), and I was stretching it out on 50 east of Salisbury early one morning. Three deer decided the grass was greener on the other side and came right across in front of me. I was probably in excess of 100mph when I saw them, I was braking and downshifting as hard as I could without sliding tires. Somehow, I’ll never understand how, I went between numbers two and three and didn’t touch either one. I looked in the mirrors and they were unfazed by the whole deal. Not me, I pulled off and wiped the sweat off, checked my underwear and went home, slowly.

The worst about my younger days was the need for speed! Having 6 different bikes by the time I was 23, each increasing in hp and speed, the opportunity to open them up was irresistible and was a common occurrence. It wasn't until getting married and the kids / family started, that I was able to 'control' the desire..... notice that I said control.... that need for speed is still there.... now I am just sensible enough not buy anything that can go fast....

Sure wish I could get my supervisor to help with projects. Get close to the floor and all I get is licky Lou’s.
Here is the door. Part of the install included support for beam that supports kitchen floor joists in upper right corner. All the squiggly marks on door. Are from me grinding nails off that were to long. Needed someone to remind me to turn compressor pressure down so nails would not be driven 1/8” too far into wood.

You were ahead of me, when I bought the Magna I was 30 and it was number five. After that I had a 750 Suzuki sport bike, an Intruder, which I hated, a Yamaha 1100 and a Suzuki GSX 1100, 132 hp and more like a rocket. According to my wife and daughter I was too old for that thing and it was going to kill me. I was 44. So I sold it. Haven’t been on one since. But like boats, I miss it.

The older I get the more it seems as if electronics just do stuff like that.

I use the Google Voice website to make most of my phone calls. Yesterday, I pulled up the web page, found a call from the person I wanted to talk to, poked the phone icon, and picked up my phone when it rang. When Google connected the other end, it went the the last person I had called, not the person I had intended. I was about two sentences into the conversation before I figured out the switch. The web page had the phone number for the person I wanted to call, so it was something on the Google end that got FUBARed. Stuff like that doesn't happen often, but it does happen more often than it should. Especially since everybody likes to pretend that all this computer/internet/networking stuff is as reliable as the old AT&T benevolent monopoly we all used to enjoy.

Good afternoon, wow, what chilly temperatures many are seeing. Please do your best to keep that cold on your own side of the pond.

I don't know where the time disappeared this morning, I don't seem to have done anything useful other than fire up the range and insure the car. 65 must be a sweat spot age for insurance, it is costing just 」270 as long as I don't drive more than 8,000 miles in the next year. With Covid restrictions and my working days over, I won't get anywhere near that mileage.

Wng, great to hear that coco is happy again.

Rip, I think of a porch as a small cover over an entrance, no more than 3x the width of the door. Only when I saw the pics did I realise yours it a lot more work !

Took this picture a few days ago to get your opinion - do you think it is time to buy a new hose ? My wife walked over the top unaware of the leaks and got quite a shock
Consider it your contribution to salmon.

PJS
Saw a buck standing at the side of the road in a field on the way home Sunday night, and remarked to The Wife that it was the first buck I've seen all year. He wasn't big, but had a decent rack. I see does pretty much every morning. Fortunate to have never hit one.

If you see deer beside the yep slow way down if it runs across the road for it's second or third deer or more try's to make the mad dash across the road ...learn lesson on motorcycle. ;)

Due to proper help and supervision

Thomas, glad I slowed down last week.

Welcome Popgadget.

Ron, nice colors.

Coco happy is good.

A friend of mine is wanting to have a shrimp boil this weekend. So I'm trying to plan the trip for Sunday but it is about a little over 2-hour drive each way.

RNG, it just seems that most manuals are online already and another website does have a number of them but not the one for the 230.

   / Good morning!!!! #120,997
Rip, it sure looks like you did a lot more work than just put a coat of paint on the ceiling. Your wifey is going to be so happy when you're done that she may let you drive her tractor.

United Healthcare is sending me a free covid test and a free dose of Tamiflu and digital thermometer "to be prepared"...don't know if all of their policies do that.

How do you like United Healthcare. My company is dropping BC and united and one other is our only option

Drinking first cup of coffee. 37° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 51° with partly cloudy skies. Went to out to get started collecting all the tools I used in cellar at 8:30 yesterday. It was already raining. Decided to call it a conserve energy day. Ended up with .25" of drizzle for the day. Todays plans. Same as yesterday.

David, good supervision always makes a job get done properly.

Mostly, not a problem for painting. Door is not outside. Will try to get a picture today.

Looking, have a safe trip.

Drew, I have left maybe ten reviews in the 20 years I have been using Amazon. All of them positive. Never been hacked. I get so many requests for reviews that lead to wanting more questions. I refuse to answer any of them. I feel that my buying a product and not returning it. Is good enough of a review. Harbor Freight is best place for moving blankets. You did move a area that has a HF?

Buckeye, BCBS is highest priced insurance here in MI. United will be cheaper and maybe better.

Wngsprd, good to hear Coco is doing much better.

Eric, get a new hose. Wife will be happy.

Roy, I have a small deer feeder that works good for me. We are not allowed to feed deer here. It is mostly for squirrels and other small critters. Moultrie Feed Station. Amazon.com: Moultrie Feed Station | Gravity Feeder | UV-Resistant Plastic | 4 lb. Capacity | Strap Included: Sports & Outdoors

Don, I use JARBO cartridge's in my HP 6500 from many years.

LS, hope you got water line thawed.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Beautiful. Hard to beat mother nature.

I'm like Don, wondering why it is only 4 degrees cooler there than here all day???

Eric, glad your car insurance was cheap. I usually put about 36,000 miles per year on my commuter car.

Are you referring to reviews you leave on purchases you've made, Drew? If so, it seems Amazon's censors are rather sensitive about criticism. It's OK to give something only one star, but if you say too much about why, they refuse to add your missive to the rest of the "bad" reviews. Discouraging, literally, in that I seldom bother to post a review these days as the time is often wasted when it doesn't make it in with the other reviews. It also makes me wonder how truthfully the reviews reflect the true nature of the products they sell.

Probably because of my post, where I clicked his amazon link and it opened something different in eBay.
