4 - this mesh AP actually wired to tractor via a 12-24 vdc converter to a POE. Just sitting in shed strong enough for a connection but no clue as to performance once outside. Of course that would depend on the other APs.

Interesting concept, but why? Do you think the AP will get better reception on the tractor than your iPhone does? It'll be interesting to see...:confused3:

60F and partly cloudy @ 08:30, headed up to a high of 65F this morning with rain heading in around 14:00 and temps falling after that.

Woman forgot to take her lunch with her ... so I'll need to stick that in the refrigerator ... :confused2:

Got the cut grass along the edges of the upper driveway mostly raked/blown out yesterday. Also spread out about 4 bucketloads crusher run to fill in the low spots. Still a little bit more to do on either end of it.

But before I do that, I need to blow the leaves off the west edge of the section that runs down here to the house and get that filled in, as that's where the worst erosion is.

On the one hand it will be good to get a little rain, to water the crusher run in. On the other hand, it's going to going to make the ground wet, which could be an issue as far as further mowing goes ... if it doesn't dry up any. From the looks of it, the lawn could stand at least one more mowing this year.

But then again, on the other hand, with the ground being good and moist, might be a good time to rent that core aerator and run it over the yard this weekend ...

Will likely work outside until the rain starts, then do the running around to return the yokes (in two different directions ... of course ...)

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Good morning! 70˚F cloudy sw winds shifting slowly to the North with the high only in the low 80s, tomorrow we will stay in the 70s. No rain in three weeks.

The wood shop opened up last week and closed today, for the rest of the week for sanitizing, after a person with covid came to the shop yesterday and reported it last night.

Tuesday was the first day of voting in Texas and the turnout was heavy. Only had to wait 20 minutes in a well spaced outdoor line. It's beyond me why some people in Austin spent the night before in line to be able to vote at the earliest possible time. But then Austin is Weird.

Easy Garden day today after a very physical chainsaw day clearing out dozens of large cedar trees on the top of a row of hills on overlook trail in the county park. It looks like it will open in January, the building are nearing complete.

I've been taking Wiper on a neighborhood trail in the evenings and she is using her new ramp to the covered truck back seat without encouragement.
Hope everyone has a productive or easy day.

54°F and RAINING this morning, going up to 60° today. Boy, was it nice to wake up to a light, steady rain today. This one looks like it may stick around until noon. We definitely need it.

Stayed up too late last night, finally getting to bed right at midnight. That 5am alarm seemed a little extra rude this morning.

Welcome to the GM thread, Henry.

Sorry about your damaged stuff, Drew. Seems ordering anything online these days is a crap-shoot at best. Between the sellers/manufacturers not properly packaging things for transport, and the carriers seeing them as opportunities to test the durability of the packaging, it's a wonder anything arrives in-tact anymore. Remember those old Samsonite commercials from the '70s? One was "Samsonite versus the Pittsburgh Steelers." They should make one titled "Samsonite versus the United Parcel Service." If a package can survive UPS playing rugby with it through their system, it can survive anything.

Poured first cup of coffee. 55ー with light rain this morning. Heading to 50ー with cloudy skies. Did not get much done yesterday. Catching up on missed conserve energy time. Going to try and get some grocery shopping done today. Then see what happens after that.
Yesterday morning sunrise.

Absolutely beautiful ...

Always good to catch up on conserve energy time ... ;)

RS, a machine shop should be able to fix a undersized hole in yoke.

No doubt.

After some consideration, I wasn't really happy with the style/specifics of that particular yoke ... knew I'd probably be able to find something better if I put in the time researching it.

I see ads on FB Marketplace to do machining.

Good morning all, 57 going to 75 and sunny, calling for rain tomorrow - forecast keeps changing was 1.25" now .5 inches

Got the Dogwood pushed over and stump removed-was about 25' tall and getting old and had some dead branches.

Welcome to GM Henry
Drew - don;t push yourself too hard, you're just starting out the next phase and need to make sure you can enjoy it not laying in bed with back pain.
UPS store next to Giant has always been helpful
I think now a days the purchaser is the QA person for most Amazon goods, and the packaging feedback.
Stink bugs -everywhere- so many great imports-wonder if any local bug eaters like them?
Eric - sun shining - moved countries ?? I miss our old enamel wood burning stove, it had 6 burners and a side water container. My mom made the best pies in tht stove from the crab apples and wild strawberries.
Buppies - sewer problems over is a good thing to hear. $2500 hurts, but better than more leaks!
TXDon - looks like the park is getting a real opening date? You must all be proud of your work, from the pictures it will be very very nice

Today will move some more leaves around to grind up, if they are dry enough,

Stay safe and be well

Good morning to all! Low of 39, going up to 80 today. No rain in the forecast.... still. The wind was ripping yesterday all day, calmed down after sunset, but started again around 9:30 pm. Not a breeze this morning.

Eric, those ovens are the new modern updates, really nice! It's surprising that the ones that are 100 years old are fetching the same prices! Those are definitely not as nice! I guess We will just have to stick with our regular cheapie.....

Roy, hope your tractor gets delivered today! Pics please....

Rip, hope the line of cedars isn't too long... you might have to get another dumpster if you keep finding stuff hidden! Pics of the porch progress would be appreciated!

Drew, sorry to hear that 2 shipments were damaged... disappointing to say the least. The way delivery services handle packages these days, it's a wonder anything makes it through undamaged. Hopefully they get the replacements to you in one piece!

Today will be more shop time. I spent hours yesterday selecting the boards for the next project. Today I will start ripping them down in preparation for joining. That's probably all I'll get to do. Probably have 50-60 pieces to make double rips.....

I just saw the first V formation of geese heading south.... a sure sign of cooler weather coming... they were probably headed here:

It's a neat place to visit, especially when all the masses of migrating cranes are there.

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning!!!! 77F @ 6:15AM. Sunny. High around 95F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Wind was calm most of yesterday, but by late afternoon provided a welcome breeze. It's been picking up since then, with overnight gusts up to 25 MPH, and now blowing in the 10-20MPH range. Supposed to stay that way until sometime tomorrow. Power's been off since quarter after six last night. Didn't even notice.

Well I guess you can teach an old dog new trucks, huh Don?

Hope you can find the right yokes, RS. Or at least something you can make work.

We have a similar thing happening here, Eric, with the Social Security Administration and the Veterans Administration filing notices of mental incompetence for those that have enlisted help to do simple things like balance a checkbook or take their medication on time. I don't have a problem with the general idea, but it's being done without any sort of hearing or way to appeal.

Do you reload, Mike? That lead pipe would come in handy if you also cast your own bullets...

Maybe one of those paintless dent removal places could save you some money, Buppies?

Too bad about the china, Drew, but Amazon's gotten quite bad with their packaging care since this CV19 thing started. I just got a gallon can of contact cement that was a good quarter inch shorter than it should have been because there was no padding on the bottom when it was packed. I'm very lucky it didn't burst.

Nice sunrise photo, Ron. Did the sailors take warning?

:welcome: Henry Juan. Where you from?

Neighbor texted me last night to let me know there was another fire nearby, but apparently it was put out before it got very big. No notice from the emergency warning system, and too dark to see any smoke. So many careless people. State wide, we're still seeing three to five new fire starts a day, almost all of them human caused.:duh::pullinghair:

One thing I have noticed the past few mornings is an over active microwave oven. I like to cook rolled oats in it, on a low heat setting. It does this by turning the beam on for only two seconds out of twenty. I haven't caught it in the act yet, but I'm thinking it's running far more than 10%, as yesterday most of the oats were splashed out of the bowl. Big mess, hungry tummy.

The other thing I noticed yesterday is I'd somehow managed to buy the wrong rings for the pistons that were giving me problems. The diameter was correct, but not the thickness or the width. Once the old rings were put back in place, the hose clamp come ring compressor worked again as it always had, and the job is mostly done. Now just have to keep my fingers crossed that the old rings, which only had a few thousand miles on them, will seat in the reconditioned cylinders.

Vagabond buddy is supposed to drop by for a visit later today. He wanted to bring something, so I suggested fresh fruit and vegetables, as that will save me a trip to town this week. :D

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Eric, in the US we consider that kind of gun registration a violation of our Constitutional Rights, and oppose it with great fervor. Too many examples from around the world of that being the first step towards confiscation. Our government has no idea who owns what, with a few exceptions. When we buy a new firearm from a dealer, we have to fill out a federal form for the transfer of ownership, but that form rarely ever goes to any governmental organization. We do have a government-run background check that gets run on us for each purchase, but even that just indicates that we are considering buying one. There is no record with them if the sale went through or not, only whether it was approved or not. For most gun owners here in The States, reading stories of what others have to endure just to own something we consider an inalienable Right, makes us shake our heads.
Our spreadsheet contains all the important info (make, model, serial number, caliber, and any special or helpful notes), as well as individual pictures of each firearm. We haven't bothered to inventory ammo. We did segregate it about a year or so ago into individual stacking plastic parts bins by caliber/cartridge. They are stacked atop the gun safe. I did note over the weekend that it probably wouldn't hurt to get the reloader going again.

Well said, Paul. Our Framers knew what they were doing.
