I'm still behind in reading...You guys are on a roll.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends.

Ditto and thanks for the pictures.

Interesting setup for your network, David. Lots of overlap. I've been thinking of adding an extender in the barn. It's 60 yards from the house, and our wifi router is right next to the kitchen window, so we get good line-of-sight reception out there. However, once we get the dog agility course and new shooting range set up in the pasture (behind the barn), it would be nice to have reception out there as well. I know The Wife will be spending a lot of time out there. With any luck, so will I. :D

Congrats on the move, Drew. Seems like you're being warmly welcomed back home. I share your frustration with inconsiderate drivers. As someone who drives the posted speed limit, I rarely pass anyone. However, those who pass me are frequently doing 20mph or more faster than me. On the drive to work this morning, it seemed more people than normal left too late to get wherever they needed to be on time. Wifey recently bought two new dash cams for our cars. I still need to get mine installed. This one has front and rear cameras. I've often thought of stringing together some clips of what it's like to drive the speed limit when everyone around me appears unbound by that limit. Sometimes, I'm amazed that they didn't actually hit me.

Kyle, the amount of PA you'll need depends on the material and the venue. You'll need more power outside than inside, obviously. If it's just your daughter singing and an instrument or two, a small system with speakers on stands (what we call "boxes on sticks") will work fine . If there's a full band with drums and bass, she'll probably need a larger system with subwoofers, especially outdoors. You might check with some local bands or club owners to see who they use. Those guys haven't been working all year, so there should be plenty of options available, and they will be more than happy to supply your needs.

One of the things we did over the weekend, Roy, was to record the details of our gun collection on a spreadsheet. We did this partly for insurance purposes, which will hopefully never be needed. More so, though, it provides a reference for my Wife of what is what, and what ammo it uses. She likes to shoot, but she's not a gun nut like I am. It's not a large collection (23, to be exact), but it's more than she cares to try to remember. Along with the info, we also took individual photos of them all, with any magazines or bayonets or other accessories that go with them. We made two reference books; one is in the gun safe for quick reference, and one is in the valuables safe. One of the shotguns, a Remington 870 12g, I bought from a former coworker back in '03. He'd won it in a raffle somewhere, but never shot it. When he told me he'd won it, I offered to buy it from him, but he declined. When that place was closing and letting people go a couple years later, he came to me and asked if I still wanted it, so I bought it for $150 ... brand new, unfired. I took it home and put it in my safe, where it sat for almost three years before I finally shot it.

My family just got passed by 2 cars racing, a camaro and a charger. Where are the cops when you need them? I was in the right lane, and one of them had to let off, change lanes and fly past us, then jumped back into my lane after he passed me. He came really close to us.

Thanks for the PA info.

good morning all.
46 out now, headed up to 76 on a sunny day, rains coming in tonight and tomorrow.
Yesterday was Amazon day, lots of boxes came in, finished washing flatware and putting it away this morning, plus a lot of other
kitchen stuff, after breakfast will work on china. Nice to have more than three spoons...and a dishwasher to put them in.

Got a replacement Makita cordless leaf blower in, just the tool since I have the batteries and charger already. Also ordered a generic 5amp battery for it, hope
it works, about a third of the cost of the name brand. Then went out and happily blew off the walkway into the house. It's the medium sized one, I've had the smallest and the largest, so this is now the just right size for me, meaning reasonably powerful and not too heavy. Had to laugh at DB sticker on it, 60 db at 50 feet. How about closer...pretty noisy, need to wear my headphones while using it for any period of time.

Today is going to be busy. Starting off with trip to local bank, had to make an appointment, no more walking in, just to do an address change and order
some new checks. I do almost all my bill pay online now, but have to have some paper checks as backup.

Then off to Lowes to get a comfort height toilet and buy curtains for windows that didn't come with drapes.
When that is done, meeting old friend with his van in Montgomeryville where I'm getting a tv from Best Buys, then we are off to
Mattress Firm for a bed for guest bedroom, and then several furniture places to look for a small couch. Because another friend's son was willing to assemble them for
me, hard on my arthritic hands..., I ordered end tables and clothes dressers from Amazon on Prime Day.
My Bosch mini cordless drill managed to not get sold so I have that to put things
together with. For now I have a mountain of empty boxes in kitchen, which my helper will take out on Sat morning to take to cardboard recycling and then also take home 8 moving boxes to his Mom, who has a friend who needs them for a move. Which will then allow me to wash the kitchen floor with my new mop and some Mop N Glow. Good project for a rainy Friday.

My lower back is sending me unhappy signals again, no surprise. I really need to get it operated on but as I've said before, they've had me numbed up with so much steroids during chemo it felt pretty good. No longer...have to rub lower back carefully as I get out of bed in the morning. Need to find my back belt which is packed away somewhere. Have an old friend who knows the head of back surgery at U Penn in Philadelphia, need to call him and get that first consult set up. My spine has simply collapsed around L5 blocking the canal and pinching the nerve there, and it's not going to get better over time. The surgeon in NC said my back was a "disaster" so not just in one spot unfortunately, but like knees you have to go in there and clean out the broken stuff. Would be nice if one of those new artificial disks could be used. I've lost two inches of height from all the cartilage disappearing in my spine, lot of bone on bone. If I'm going to have any kind of active life from now on, really need to get this fixed, or at least improved.

Stink bugs getting in here too...sucking them up with vacuum. Nowhere near as bad as my brother's home in VA, he and his wife take them out one by one and throw them outside.
I'm not that patient...
Wondered if stink bugs were like a gingko ball, smell bad after awhile?
