Eric, I have to admit I have never got a pole saw to pull apart. But have gotten a sore neck from attempts to cut branches out of a tree. Glad you got saw down.

Mostly, the skunk just got away, yesterday...but not this morning...I was out at 1am and again at 5am...however there is a lingering odor, so it gets the last laugh. I just heard some gunshots across the road a ways so hopefully someone else is doing the same thing...or maybe sending me a message they don't like to hear gunshots at night.
Eric, I've done the same thing with my pole saw. Had to fetch a ladder. Maybe a day at the pond with the rod would help your neck.
Rick, I'm not sure what to do about the Astros. One "punishment" is that I've decided not to pull for them this year...and I didn't draft any of them for my fantasy teams (although I must admit I had Springer as my next pick when someone snaked him first). BEF, sorry the Yanks are out.

The problem was pretty simple...the phone number (my cell phone) was not correct. I'm not sure if the mistake was on my part or the dealer's. Once the error was corrected, it was smooth sailing
Gotta admit, I'm pretty excited to actually see the 4052r. This will be my 5th Deere, all purchased used. Other then a 790 years ago, it's the newest. Haven't used a hydro transmission yet, other then a short trip on an old Deere 855 back in the late 1990's. Always preferred gears and, especially, reverser transmissions...mostly because of the minimal PTO power loss of the gear transmissions (as opposed to the hydrostatics). With eHydro, the loss is much less...down to a horsepower or so.
Also...a REAL cab! With AC and heat!! That's got me really excited. My old bones don't tolerate cold like they used to...

My wife and I went to the mountains yesterday and hiked Mt Marshall. Beautiful day, but compared to Tuesday when I was there, it was crowded on every overlook along the Skyline Drive and the trail heads. Lots of folks coming for leaf season...it was still too early, although progressing with spots of nice colors. But I could have just stayed on the computer and looked at RS and Ron's picture for beautiful tree colors. Talked to a fellow that works for Motley Fool in Alexandria for a while. We found hundreds of witch hazels blooming along the trail...never seen so many before.

I feel like the players involved should have been suspended without pay for half a season, they paid no price at all. The series they won should have been forfeited. And they should have been banned from playoff contention for at least the next season, they do it in college all the time, no place for that kind of blatant cheating.
However, past is past and time to move on.

The leaves here are thinking about turning as the greens are changing shades.
Eric was the limb too low for your cab, or was it an opportunity to test the limits of your pole saw?
They are still alternating days for the gardens so I'll have to wait a day to see my new sprouts. On the 19th of this month they will open the buildings for classes, hopefully the gardens will be opened back up completely then.
Face mask are still mandatory in Texas, So far I have seen no one try to test the enforcement of it, everyone is complying nicely.

Tried to fly my drone for first time in months, and it flew eradicably and crashed. Didn’t take off 3 ft and hover.

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 6:00AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. Slight chance of a rain shower. High near 75F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
AQI 28 and 83, inside and out. Fire lines have held up and all evacuations and warnings have lifted. The Plumas National Forest remains closed, upsetting the deer hunters but making the firepersons feel safer.
That's a lot of bad news in such a short time, Buppies. Hope it turns around quickly for you!
My PITA neighbor likes to shoot his guns in what seems like retaliation. That kind of attitude makes me nervous, Bill. But neutralizing the skunk is a good trade off.

Hope the new network plan works out, David. One thing I haven't found yet are words of wisdom on AP placement and overlap. I'm seeing lots of AP Retry Rate errors when I'm roaming outside with the iPhone, and I don't yet know enough about what causes it or how much is acceptable. None of the radio channels overlap, and that hasn't helped. I looked at the mesh equipment from Ubiquity, but I couldn't figure out how they do their back haul, and didn't want to cut bandwidth in half on every hop as is the case with the majority of mesh equipment out there now. In that respect, I share your frustration about their skimpy Quickstart guides, always ending up in the user forums for answers that should be in a full blown owner's manual that doesn't seem to exist. FWIW, the Crosstalk Solutions guru made a video a few years ago covering the APs you're using, so you might try to dig that up. Lots of questions in the comments, though, about how the back haul is done, and no answers I could find.
Not a good ending to that tractor story. Bad things can happen quickly when steep ground, chains, and boulders are in play.

I have a badly rusted trailer about that size I've been meaning to repaint for the past two years, Ted. It has a smooth steel floor that I haven't had any slipping issues with, but maybe the rust helps?
Thursday's tree inspection was a non-event. Arborist showed up and the first thing he says is he doesn't understand why they even sent him out because I have no roads nearby upon which trees could even fall. I could only agree, pointing out that the dead oaks at the cul-de-sac are on the neighbor's land over which I have an easement. He asked about the abandoned road down to the old boat launch, and I told him the county has disavowed any ownership of it, and as such, it's on my land and not a public road. We hopped on the RTV and took a ride down there anyway, and the only tree that even came close to meeting the removal criteria was on the downhill side of the road and could never be a problem. So he issued a passing grade and I got the official notification via email yesterday.
Got the new tooth bar mounted on the FEL bucket yesterday, and all 13 bolt holes lined up perfectly. Used it to spread another bucket full of fill dirt on the hillside, and it did seem to get farther into the pile before the wheels broke traction, but not by much. It was painfully obvious I need more rear ballast as I tried to back up the hill while dragging the bucket and the rear wheels kept breaking loose. I had the box blade mounted, and it's just not heavy enough.
I also observed that the new top'n'tilt valve was even leakier than the original one, and now neither of the two spools will hold the setting for more than a few minutes. It's either time to install check valves (and lose the float capability), or find a set of valves from a different vendor that don't leak. Time to do some homework in the TBN archives.
The new fire helmet arrived yesterday, and I was surprised at how much it weighed. It's right up there with a motorcycle helmet, which offers a lot more protection. It was pretty comfortable, though. Not impressed with the brightness of the built in LED lamps, but I guess they're better than nothing, and probably better than trying to graft on or wear an LED headlamp under the helmet. It came with a 4" visor that seems to be of good quality, so I'll have a go at getting that mounted today.

RNG, glad the fire/smoke situation is a bit better. I realized soon after I posted this morning that it's early duck season for 4 days...that explains the shooting I heard this morning....legal shooting starts a half hour before sunrise, and it was coming from the direction of the far swamp...wood ducks and mallards inhabit.

Some chance for rain over the next few days, not supposed to be a lot. Average highs head down into the upper 50's starting in about a week, average lows into the high 30's in about two weeks.
Probably finish up mowing first ... might be able to get one more mowing in this year, just to ensure the grass is as short as possible come next spring.
Then fill up Water Buffalo and give everyone one last drink.
After that remove MMM and install FEL and box blade, finish mulching northeast planting bed.
Followed by gathering up various tools and putting them away.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... :thumbsup:

all moved in, everything went well, landlord had nice thermal drapes for me to use and got them put up, very pleased with that.
Turns out little house has two bedrooms, a small office where I am now with pc up and running, and a living room.
Boy am I tired...really looking forward to my own bed tonight.
trip to Giant supermarket tomorrow morning and Ace Hardware which I was delighted to find out our little town actually had one.
Tonight I have dinner in the fridge, brought by my ex wife and her husband and an Amish pie (I hope not shoofly...) brought by another friend.
Life is good.
