"Astros shouldn’t be allowed in playoffs."

They were punished. How long should their penance last?

Did no other MLB team .. ever break the rules?

BTW .. it's 1-1 top of the 8th.

64F and clear @ 21:30, headed to a low of 62F in the overnight. High reached 75F for the day.

Yoke removed from shaft, then trip into town to pick up parts.

While I was waiting for them to match them up/pull them, Covid Super-Spreader Wannabe "Karen" stopped in to pick up some parts ... sans mask, of course ...

These were for a local business (wish I had gotten the name) ... the order had been previously phoned in, and the parts had been pulled and set aside.

The counter guy told her she would need to have a mask on to be inside the store (Ohio mask mandate) ... saying that if she had forgotten hers they could provide her one ...

Nope ... she wasn't going to that ... at which point, the guy waiting on her told she would have to leave the building and they would bring the items out to her.

Nope ... she's not going to do that either.

Guy offered to let her speak to one of the owners ... nope, definitely didn't want do that ... she just wanted her parts ...

(This - on the day that our state recorded its HIGHEST EVER number of new cases ... smdh ...)

At this point, she was apparently starting to get a little annoyed with me ... as I had shook my head and uttered "Unbelievable ..." half under my breath ... and was looking at her rather ... intently ...

So she turned to me and asked "Why are you staring at me ... you got a problem or something ?

I wasn't starting ... I was glaring ... and giving her the Stink Eye ... slight difference ...

At that point one of the other individuals (possibly one of the owners) who had been seated at a desk had come over and tried to reason with this lady and she proceeded to continue to argue and kept asking the gentleman who had originally started to wait on her "Did you run my card ?"

Ahhh ... no ... no, they didn't ...

Shortly after that she left ... without her parts ...

Got everything I came for ... except for the yoke which they didn't have ... and The Woman thought the Crazy Karen video was hilarious ...

Ended up having to go to Sam Winer's for the yoke ... they hooked my up with one that may work, although its ears are shorter (will need to check that out closer, as it seems to me that the opposite side might have less angle before the u-joint contacts the shorter yoke)

Got home in time to get a little better than 1/2 the mowing done down around the house ...

Might need to deploy some of the Irish Spring on this one ... looks like the deer have been having a feast ...:

Seemed to be a longish day. By the time we got home, had lunch it was already 2:30.

I did get the replacement oil cooler installed. Cleaned up the engine compartment first, quite a mess from the leaking oil.

New cooler.
IMG_1970.JPG

Had to remove abit more than anticipated to get to old fittings, boy were they tight. The actual swap was probably the easiest part.

Got it done
IMG_1971.JPG

Will run again in morning, double check for leaks before reinstalling the radiator parts.

Still need dealer to do 300. Hr service but at least I can get caught up mowing while I wait.

OK, as promised, my thoughts on my wifi upgrade. Those not interested feel free to disregard.

By no means a network person beyond passing Network 101 back in the 80’s. But I have cobbled together to get by.

Currently I have 2 sources of internet, both AT&T cellular. Primary is a Mofi 4500 with AT&T sim that works pretty good feeding several house networks. My main house network is a 1st generation Eero mesh that works pretty well. I still have secondary Apple Extreme for guests also sourced by the Mofi. I have AT&T Mobley that feeds my Ubiquiti M2 Picostation for an outdoor network.

My improvements have 3 primary objectives:
1. Need a good solid signal to Tractorshed. Currently there is a weak Eero connection that services my off grid electrical, but would like better signal and also provide internet to the in progress caretaker suite. No way to run wire, has to be wireless.

2. Better wifi access any where on property. Currently, Picostation spotty at best.

3. After current tenants leave cottage I need to reestablish that connection.

Originally thought I could just expand on my Ubiquiti airos stations, but using the AP’s as repeaters degrades with each additional AP. Adding stations to receive the signal would also require switch and modems at receiving locations.

Opted to go with the Ubiquiti UAP-AC-M, with their Cloud Key controller. These are indoor/outdoor unites with omni directional antenna. Being mesh, they will link to each other. They are a convenient form factor. i will pole mount. Already have existing masts at 2 locations.

Some reference their range at upto 600 ft, some say not.

I intend to initially mount 3

1. On current mast at LivingRoom. This was our original point of entry for internet so is currently wired for POE. I may extend mast a few feet higher. I hope this to be a wired AP connected to the Mofi. It should be primary link to Tractorshed.

2. Tractorshed would be a wireless node that feeds switch and wifi yo both tractorshed and caretaker unit. it needs a mast.

3. The Master Suite currently hosts both the Mofi and Mobley, with wired connection for Mofi to Living Room. Mobley is POE to Picostation. antenna for both are on mast here. I had hoped that the new AP’s could connect with 2 wired sources, but not finding that so likely this will be a wireless also. BUT, I think I can add a Nanoswitch and still let Mobley source the Pico.

4. I have wired the tractor to host the 4th node, a mobile AP, 12-24vdc converter to POE to power the Ubiquiti mesh. My understanding is it will switch between the other AP’s as I move and I can connect iphone or ipad. The LTE signal is insufficient and sporadic.

I really don’t like the Ubiquiti documentation on Unifi. Seems I can never find a simple answer, just endless links.

I suspect this configuration will change, depending on performance and suggestions. It would seem to be expandable, even add a camera or 2 eventually. At this point I have 4 of the UAP-AC-M units, 2 picostation M2, and Nanostations M2 & M5.

Here is a busy overview, the out circles being the 600ft range, inner circle half that.
IMG_0167.JPG

The #3 could be an off grid node. #4 just an artifact I forgot to delete.

Weather channel states it's 57 right now...sure feels colder than that. High in the mid-70's and rain showers this afternoon.
Might make a dump run, but only two bags. If it's not too wet, blow or mulch some leaves...that's about it.
Did "e-sign" the purchase contract for the 4052 yesterday. First time this dealer has had the e-signing app since they were bought out so it wasn't as smooth as it could have been, but it's done. Tractor will be delivered Thursday or Friday. It won't be coming directly to our house...dealer wants to give it a service and a once over.

Interesting about those crisps, but more interesting - What about the pic of that woman's belly!!! Is that real? And is that really Celine? Inquiring minds want to know.

Wng, when you were little, did your mommy tell you that one day there would be something called "clickbait" pictures - but you were not to look ? :)

Good morning all. The great thing about this thread is that none of us are too proud to admit it when we get things wrong. My turn (again) today :ashamed:

Yesterday afternoon I decided to get a bit of exercise by making a a start at clearing a few intertwined branches on some too densely packed trees, in order to make them easier to fell without hanging up. I had just about finished for the day and when rain and hail came clattering down on my helmet. It soon passed, however as I was sheltering against a trunk I looked up and saw one last small branch that I might as well remove too. It was right at the limit of my reach, although only a couple of inches in diameter, so would be down in seconds ... or so I thought

It soon became obvious that I had made two mistakes. The first was not taking into account that the branch was being forced upwards by the tree behind, the second was not checking the top section lock had sprung fully into place. As I cut, the branch moved up and started to pinch, so I pulled a little harder and ... the pole came apart, way up out of reach. Oops.

Stuck.JPG

After a few attempts, I managed to throw a rope up and over the branch, however it wouldn't break at the cut, it just bent under my weight. Eventually I cut a long piece of alder and was able to work the saw free while pulling down on the rope.

Anyone got a good cure for a stiff neck ? :)

Bups, sure hope you don't need to go in that crawl space for a while.

Sodamo, good to see you got the oil cooler replaced. What a sad ending for your neighbours father.

Coffee is done brewing. 61° with some clear skies this morning. Heading to 74° with partly cloudy skies. Furnace checked out good. Went grocery shopping with my aunt. Not bad for a Friday afternoon. I am feeling better today. Lawn is still in need of mowing. There is no dew this morning. Should be able to get lawn and back field cut today.
Covid 19. Michigan cases 147,816. Deaths 7,200. Test 4,304,755. Oakland County cases 21,720. Deaths 1,215. Test 49,869.
While waiting for Furnace guys, flew drone. Couple of trees have the right color.

Roy, I have done a few E-sign's. They all went well. Good yours got signed.

David, Prayers for neighbors family and friends. Thanks for wifi update. Need to spend more time reading it later. Hope cooler install gets competed today without leaks.

Buppies, hope they got all the spots. Not good with tanks and septic. I guess I have been lucky so far with my water and septic. Well is over 30 years old. Septic is the same one we moved in with. 48 years ago. Had it pumped every 5 years. Due again next summer.

LS, trailer looks good.

RS, nice pictures. 11% another week.

Rich, hope new manager continues on the good path.

Drew, on to new house today.

Rick, hope you got the haircut. I needed one a couple of weeks ago. Banged my head on gas meter while cleaning garden area. Been waiting for it to heal. Back on the list for next week.

Mostly, you having a wedding?

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.
