wngsprd.
I took mostly wildflower pix on my hike, so here's one, and a nice shot of this flat section of trail where the ferns were turning golden copper for autumn.

RonH..I really enjoy your morning pics.

On barbed wire, don't know why that caught my eye.... our entire property perimeter and cross fenced fields had original strands and replacement strands for.....miles....

In 15 plus years, we have managed to get all the cross fenced wire out. I STILL have some perimeter fence up. It is a tedious, difficult job. With most trees having grown into and around the wires, not to mention the poison ivy.

I just placed two garbage pales full of it in the dumpster this week.

It is a messy job, the old stuff, you cannot even spool it, it breaks apart, The "newer" stuff, still has recoil to it. LOL.

And I hit a strand of hidden wire with the bush hog. I don't want to post pics of that mess, as the safety police would have a field day with me if they saw what I was doing. LOL.

Heavy gloves, good stomping boots, loose clothes and eye protection... a must.

Sigh... depressing just thinking about it.

You guys talking about barbed wire reminded me of when I bought this property. The back area had been fenced in, but I didn’t know it. They had removed the visible stuff when clearing that area, but they semi buried the bottom strand. I got that mess wrapped around my zero turn blades a half dozen times before I finally got it all dug out. What a mess.
I also remember ripping the seat of my pants several times while climbing over fences as a kid.
And wasn’t the only kid wearing butt patches to school.

Glad for the good news Drew! Can't wait to see the tractor Roy. Up at my regular pre retirement time this morning. Wife and I went out to breakfast before she had to leave for work. Already did my 3 mile walk. Now I will have another coffee and then go out and pick up the yard.
We had a bad storm come thru last night with heavy wind, lightning and rain. Trees down and power outages all around here. Several houses with damage and even a few cars smashed. Luckily no loss of life. We are fine with no damage that I can tell.
Yesterday was great except for the storm.
Hope everyone is safe and healthy!

Good morning to all! Low of 51, going for 78 today, hazy skies due to smoke again.

Drew, sounds like you have the right plan... don't take any chances with the back... messing it up now would surely not make your trip pleasant!

Ron, we have had flocks of those drab sparrows here at the pond / feeders for about 2 weeks. They come in flocks about 20-30, flitter about the pond for 10 minutes or so, then disappear for the rest of the day.

Eric, are you going to partake in the fishing party? Is the lime for your fields or for the brick pointing?

When we first moved here, there was a few strands of barbed wire fence left mostly hanging loosely around the perimeter.... not a nice memory of gathering it all. I was glad to be done with that project and see it all gone!

A quick grocery run run this morning, then probably go to get propane tanks filled. Maybe get to then start welding the trailer parts.

Everyone have a great day!

Good morning all, 43 going up to 64 and sunny
Got the deck off and cleaned and the bashed in front fixed. Went to grease both spindles and one is not taking grease, so will have to fix that.
Blades looked better than expected, so will clean them up today. Started raining a bit last night, but not enough to wet the ground.
Not sure if inspector showed up yesterday for swale, I will call later if I don;t here from the town.

RNG - hope that fire stays away now that the back burn is done, that was some picture.
Roy - almost to tractor time- bet you can't wait now that the leaves are coming down-lots of leaves down here due to heavy wind yesterday
Eric- went to a crisp shop in London once that had a few hundred flavors- one was hedgehog flavor. No one believed me and I went back a year later, no more hedgehog flavor!
Drew - getting closer to road trip time! be careful, heavy moving boxes and momentum can be a problem. Make sure you have a small foldable hand truck. used mine a lot during moves.
Buppies - sleep ! good to hear
