Good morning!!!!

Drew, that's good news.... all is good! Now for the short countdown

RNG, wow, that is a list! Maybe you could give yourself a challenge.... like "I'm not going to shave until the list is done".... no, that might not be a good idea...you might start tripping on a beard... :D..... sorry, couldn't resist... hey, at least it's getting shorter, not longer!

David, nice progress! I wish my projects would get delayed due to rain.... it is really dry here... 5% humidity is dry.... I am drinking water like is going out of style!

I got a little progress on the trailer. Got the front supports cut, prepped, and clamped in place ready for welding. I have 1 of 2 center supports notched and had to take an indoor break.... too hot in the sun! Shade is working its way around to where the trailer is, so maybe finish the second one later. I have decided that diamond plate is going on the deck vs. wood, hence the extra supports. Here's a few progress pics...

One of those strange wx mornings just enough rain to keep wet, not enough break to dry out. Oh well, piddle about.

Great news Drew 🤙🤙🤙🤙

This photo was taken last night by a photographer embedded with a group of Hot Shots that were back burning to create a fire break along CA70 at the Bucks Creek Powerhouse. This morning's report said they're as ready for the wind as they can get, so all we can do now is :crossfingers:

Got a text from the bodyshop neighbor asking if I could help him with a downed tree that fell into the road. I had to tell him I was out of town, and he replied that it also fell on the telephone line. I told him to call AT&T and let them take care of it, but he and another neighbor had it out of the way by the time I got home. And my phone still works...

Also got a call back from the tree inspection lady, and got the inspection put off until tomorrow. There are several burned and dead trees where my driveway meets the cul-de-sac, but technically they're on my PITA neighbor's property (I just hold an easement on it for the driveway). I was planning on taking them down as soon as we get some rain, but if she pushes for anything faster, I'll turn her loose on him.

Good afternoon! The fast pace of the Morning thread is mind boggling.
Happy retirement Phil.
Happy inspection RNG.
Happy scan Drew.
Happy burn Rick.
Happy trailer welding LS.

All those with Covid, prayers.

I said I was not going to do it and I did. I got the Flu shot and feel like I got the flu. The good news is that my twice operated on knee was injected Monday and what a relief. Some day it will have to be replaced but not this week, it's feeling good. I was able to fire up the chainsaw in my weakened state and clear cedars in the park this morning so I can't be too bad off I guess.

The CA had removed all but 10' of the barbed wire fence yesterday so no opportunity to do a educational YouTube during FireWise clearing. Buckeye, The rusty wire I rolled up on the farm often broke and was about 50 years old, so no second use.

Rick I see the cedars by your repaired gully and want to fire up the chainsaw.

Hurricane Delta will be East of us so no excitement there, but we do need some rain in central Texas.

Spectacular Fire photo RNG.

My Buddy and got the garage in order, sort of. He brought the interior of his pontoon boat that he keeps on a lake in VT. Wants me to reupholster all of it “in my spare time”, then we both laughed.
He told me to hurry because he needs it by May. I told him I’d have to charge extra for express service.

Calling it a day, albeit a light one, get a cold one and watch the debate. Of course wx turned nicer now that I’m done.

Worked on my 30 gal Husky air compressor. Yesterday it gave up the belt. Of course I didn’t have a replacement, nor was I going to make a special trip to get one. What I found was both the AC and my flail both use a 39 inch belt. Had already planned on replacing the flail set as 1 of 3 had frayed and would replace as set. Flail belt is a 5L vs 4L for the AC, so not exact match but a functional replacement once adjusted. Decided not to change the oil as sight glass level was correct and oil looked clear. Did drain the tank and had to replace the O ring in the valve. I think it was Ted that changed to a more easily drained setup. Need to look to do that as getting under the tank is a PITA. When finished it came up to full pressure 135psi in short order. It will be powering the nail gun tomorrow.

Cleaned up and put together the next larger dog crate to give Makani a bit more room to sleep. This was the shipping crate that brought Flash from New Zealand when he was 3 months old. Hopefully, he’ll be trustworthy enough to just put away when it becomes too small.

Time to get a beer....

----- Don

Being we apparently have similar knees.... I too just got a steroid injection last week in the knee... sure makes it easier to get around!
I also believe we have the same outlook.... it feels much better, so I'm good to do a bunch of stuff....

My replacement surgery is now scheduled for February..... the knee continues to degrade...

Keep me updated. Looks like you will go first unless this injection does not last the projected 3 months. (Yep, I kind of laughed also.)

Don .. that area .. is the edge of about 10 acres we've not touched and leave "wild" for our deer and other wildlife. And .. the cedars look great every 10 years .. or so when we get a bit of snow.

Good evening all. 62F for the start, clam wind, mostly clear sky. Sky stayed clear, wind light to moderate. and high temp was 87F. Humidity starting to build. Gopher update, no new mounds since yesterday, trap was tripped but empty. It has likely left or died, dog sniffed the mound locations but no reaction. Men's meeting to start, walk with wife, then bike ride. not much else got done but nap :) Did get to dog sit this afternoon.
Covid update: Cooke 477 confirmed cases, 19 active cases, Montague 195 confirmed cases, 6 active cases, Grayson 2009 confirmed cases, 84 active cases.
RS congrats on getting the hosta bucket empty. Sorry about the wife's friend Covid prayers sent
Buppies wish you could get some sleep as well.
Drew, if I were you I would be excited about finishing the last hurdle to moving, hope Pet scan went well.
Ron hope your appointment goes well at Dr and you get your shopping fist filled. thanks for the lake info.
Mike congrats on the progress on the outbuilding, sorry about the shoulder. hope you can get the upgrades you need for grass cutting.
Randy do zombies live in the thick fog?
Thomas hope you get your rain
Billy 1700 ft is a lot of gain in 6 miles! no pics? Hope the car wash went ok, I have some vehicle you can do as well ;)
Phil congrats on your first day as a retiree. Yes a nap is in order :) PS lost your invitee to the party :(
RNG sounds like a very good day overall. Missouri smog tests looks for resets codes, with GM cars there is a list of 10 events that turn off the reset codes. I used to know what it was.
Rick glad you are able to get the burn piles lit, according to my wind forecast should stay down for a day or 2. Nice pics
Ken good to hear stump done. good luck with straighten the deck and blade sharpen.
Dennis sorry to hear about dog bite
Ted you wont like how much water I used on it :) However I hear Don's gray2 may be available. have fun with the trailer mods.
David glad you are getting rain, any suggestions for rain dance?
Ted nice progress pics
RNG hope the fire is going away from you, that is one scary pic.
Don sorry about the flu shot side effects. glad cedarcide went well
Randy have fun on the pontoon boat project.
David nice piece of luck you had a usable belt for compressor, hope Makani likes his new digs
Rick nice snow pics. How often do you get snow?
Prayers for all, especially Drew/move, Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter, RNG/fire, and Country/president.
stay safe and healthy you all.

48 right now and it isn't going to get much warmer...49 being the high.
Wife popped in the bedroom (I'm an early to bed guy) said it was raining hard last night. That probably brought down most of the leaves.

Got an e-mail from the Deere dealer...4052 should be here next Wednesday or Thursday

A friend asked me if he could bring someone who is having a tough time to do a spot of fishing today. They usually would have been going over the border to fish for trout in North Wales, however that is a no-go area at the moment. Coincidentally, I was talking to a delivery driver who brought me a pallet load of lime on Tuesday and he was also more than a little disappointed at not being able to go fishing in that area.

Fishing is now allowed again in England, however I doubt those in my pond will give them anywhere near the same thrill as casting for wild trout in running water. I spent a few hours yesterday afternoon clearing out weed so they can offer their bait without too many snags and at least they will be spared from a soaking as the rain is about to finish until tomorrow.

Sorry I missed the party Phil. Has the novelty of laying in bed an extra 2 hours worn off yet ?

LS, trailer prep looks very neat

RNG, 4 gallons of cider sounds a great way celebrate (or commiserate!) a smog test.

Rick, I had to pull back when I clicked on your burn pile pic - looked like it was about to sing my eyebrows !

Don, do you wear gloves when rolling barb ? I found the type of glove makes a big difference, gloves with flappy or knitted parts always seem to get caught up. Occasionally I have coiled it without gloves - it always reminds me of playing with hedgehogs as a kid - only without the fleas

good morning all.
Going to be a warm one today, 66 out now going up to low 80's in "abundant sunshine".

did a lot of box packing last night so I would know if I needed more, yes, two more small ones.
Headed out to Office Depot and Walgreens this morning for last of errands, then back to wash rv and car, then pack the car.
And then a good cleaning of inside of rv. Have to be careful of my back, since the mega doses of steroids I was given during chemo have now worn off,
back isn't feeling so wonderful any more and I have one big box that is too heavy I have to get into car without doing damage. I should have gone with more smaller boxes...
the toaster oven at the bottom of that box is surprisingly heavy and a lot more went on top. I might just get more boxes and repack it, now is not the time to wreck my back.

My pc and monitor are going on rear seat floor of car, and concerned it will get too hot in there today. Think I may leave that job til after dinner tonight when the sun goes down and I can open the car doors and cool things off in there. Can't leave the windows open due to campground construction dirt. Mifi has reset, gosh it's nice to get back to normal speed.

4052 should be here next Wednesday or Thursday :drink::dance1:

Hope you all have a great day

57 heading to lower 70's today.

Good on the sleep Buppies. Hope the pattern continues.

Today hopefully all the electric gets done. Had to take all the sheeting off to expose the wires for them so they can figure out what circuit and how they run. Looking at it now, I'd say that mysterious outside line is powering the front of my porch and nothing against the house. It looked like an easy way to get power to the porch back then instead of going through the house. Good thing I never tried to "clean up" that wire. Since it is encased in pipe, and an old oil tank was next to the house, I always though it was the feeder line. LOL. Got lucky on not messing with that.

More dumpster filling today, just enough room left to clean out another out building. No mystery in that one.

RTV hydraulic line came in, need to look at that and figure out how to replace it.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe.

57 going to only 73 today.

Glad you got that sleep, Buppies...was afraid Phil may have been hogging it all. :)

Mostly, I'd love to wash your vehicle...just not sure it's worth driving so far. I even did a little bit of waxing...truck hasn't looked this good for a long time. Good news on gophers. I took mostly wildflower pix on my hike, so here's one, and a nice shot of this flat section of trail where the ferns were turning golden copper for autumn.

Good morning,
the temp is 36°F and going to 46. Wind WNW 6 mph. 40% chance of showers.

Today is the day I get to go to North Bay for the monthly grocery shopping trip. The good thing is that the step-son does all the shopping, I just drive and nap when he is in the stores. There are 8 stops possibly 9 on this run.

Have a safe day all

   / Good morning!!!! #119,980
First cup of coffee is cooling. 36° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 67° with lots of sun. Dr. appointment went well yesterday. Got Flu shot while I was there. Arm is sore this morning. Another Dr. visit this morning. Every 3 months check up. Did not get shopping done yesterday. On the list today. May mow lawn.
This sparrow is different than most that show up at me feeders. Mostly gray except for wings.
iTTF0FL.jpg

Rick, little early for snow pictures. Good burn piles are getting done.
Prayers for Dr. friend.

LS, upgrades on trailer looks good.

Drew, be careful lifting boxes.

Wngsprd, great pictures.

RNG, goof news Van. Great fire picture. Scary at the same time.

Looking, hope shopping trip goes good. 9 stops leaves lots of chances to not find what is needed.

Buppies, good sleep.

Don, I took down 5k of barb wire. Most of it, even though it was 30 years old. Still wanted to wind itself back like it was on original spool. I wore heavy leather gloves to put it up and take down.

Riptides, good that you did not cut wire out. Get that dumpster filled and gone.

Eric, only hedgehog here is a Sassy's toy.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.
