It would take me that long to just clean and repack the bearings,
of course that's because I still hand pack bearings. I do have a grease gun tool that is
designed to pack bearings which I almost never use. If I'm going to be greasing a lot of bearings
"more then 6 or so" I will get it out of it's bag that it is stored in and grease all of the bearings,
then I will verify that they are completely greased by hand packing to make sure it flows through the bearing.
It is difficult to do a better job of greasing a bearing then hand packing when done carefully.

I have bearing packer that the bottom looks like a small Bundt cake pan, drop the bearing on the tapered center, screw the top on and mash the plunger down until grease comes through the bearing. I double check them it it’s worked for forty years.

My FIL raced go karts for a short time.

We ran five different classes with three karts for over four years, won three overall championships in lay down kart, and 5-6 class championships. It got too expensive to stay competitive and I got old enough to want to do other things. Always missed it though, and spent lots of hours and dollars at fast tracks in rental karts. Last time I was in a kart was about 2002 in Nags Head. I couldn’t get out of it now! LOL

I think we all spent a lot less time thinking things through when we were young, Randy.

It sometimes seems like a miracle I'm still alive. There are several guys from my high school who didn't make it.

Never raced competitively, but had a cart as a kid back in the '70s. It was a homemade jobby I bought from a friend who lived a few blocks over from me. He sold it to buy a racing cart. For homemade, it was very well-made, and it was ridiculously fast. I used to ride it all around our neighborhood, which was mostly a closed area on the edge of town, no through roads, so there was little traffic. At some point, someone started complaining to the police. I was fortunate to know most of the city's police, as several of them lived near me, including the chief just two doors down our street. One officer, who lived a street over, would show up to pull me over and go through the whole "license and insurance" babble every time. I'd remind him that I was 12 years old and that he knew I didn't have a license. He'd give me the same lecture every time about driving underage in an unlicensed vehicle, blah blah blah, then ask me to stop terrorizing the neighborhood. One time, he asked me why I didn't ride it when he wasn't on duty. I told him that someone else might actually write me a ticket or impound my cart. He shook his head and walked back to his car, asking me to be safe. Good times. In hindsight, stupid to be driving something that fast and that small on city streets ... but, good times nonetheless.

Good evening all. Just plopped down with a tonic water. Been filling up a twenty foot dumpster all day. Was delivered Friday..is almost full. I did not think the front porch was that much material. Good excuse for why it is taking so long. Only busted one window and it was in the dumpster. Hit the edge just right and was holding air. Wow. The windows were all double 4x8 panes. All had seen better days. No reclaiming them.
On the tractor front the woman just had another regen today. Seems like every 25 hours. That's three so far. They are doing lots of work together. Let's me do other things.

Hope all enjoy what is left of today. Off to another real job in the AM.

Evening all. Uneventful trip back from the car show today. Everything is put away till next time.
Tomorrow will be my last day into the office. I will drop off my phone and laptop and sign out from all my files etc. My guys have decided to take me out for breakfast as a last goodbye. (I can pretty much only eat eggs, rice or chicken right now with my throat/stomach issues)

Thank you Thomas for letting me play and call these my Thomas days and congrats on your 1 year retired anniversary!
Stay safe and healthy all!

I have a similar one that as a grease zerk on it to fill.

Got most of the leaves mulched and over the embankment. It was too wet to use the leaf blower, so it was all done with the zero-turn Deere.
Still a lot of leaves on the trees, so i reckon I'll be doing this for the next few weeks

Good evening,
the temp is a cool 45°F and going down to 36. Wind ENE 8 mph. 60% chance of showers tonight and it is raining now.

That was an uneventful trip down to Markham.
The truck is totally stripped, all of my stuff is here at home with me.
The return trip was more entertaining, it appears as if a train derailed just south of Brechin, ON. Tied me up for 30 minutes and caused me a 20 mile detour on dirt roads. There are going to be quite a few peed off people going to the city from cottage country. The backup from Brechin stretched as far as I could see north of hwy 169, I left hwy 12 there and cut across country on 169 to hwy 11 north. A cop followed me onto the ramp for South River (I was 20 over the limit), that is $100.oo fine and three points. I turned west and he went east. Whew, another bullet dodged.

Stay safe everyone

Good evening. 48 now. Had a greT weather day, sunny and about 65. Started getting cloudy around 5, started raining and had a 15 degree temperature drop. Supposed to be pleasant rest of the week.

Got another trailer full of wood cut today. Had some logs down for over a year. The better half helped. She is pretty good using the smaller saw.

We took a break at one point, got a visit from the 2 turkeys, the geese, and some of the ducks. They had to see what we were doing.

Everyone stay safe out there

Took truck and Honda and got almost all of son’s stuff from apartment. Only a few kitchen pots and plates left. Basement is full with his couch, tv, stands, bed, etc.

I’m tired now.
Then wife wanted me to make camping reservations. Camping is a lot of work for me and I told her I wasn’t up to it with my GBS.

LS, maybe your son can do my trailer bearings next?
I have never checked them, but also rarely use the trailer and never taken it far.

You just missed him.... he was out at the Chesapeake Bay area a couple of years ago.... he might be interested in a road trip again....

Yep, he hand packed them.... he said he "would never ever use one of those packers"... when I asked if I should get one! :D

I think I am going to drill and tap the trailer caps and install a zerk for greasing. At least they would get SOME grease!

The trailer is from 1997, mainly used to haul a 350gal water tank (Max payload loaded) at least 5-6 times a week, 14 miles round trip, for at least 6 years. I never regreased the hubs... always put it off "until next week". Then used it for hauling a bunch of materials / supplies for building the house.

Surprisingly, there actually was a little bit of grease left in the bearings!

I cannot come up with an excuse for not doing the maintenance on the trailer.... I am meticulous, to say the least, with maintenance on everything! ..... except the trailer..??

Good evening all. 60F for the start, overcast sky, windy. Breezy day, sky cleared off and high temp was 76F. Forecast rain did not happen :( . Overslept for Chapel so watch online, more fun in-person even with restrictions. Conserve energy day today, did not mess with gopher, but wait till tomorrow  Made pancakes for lunch and napped and walk with wife. Did do some dog sitting, Scooter was on a power pout till stepdaughter came back for him
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson unchanged.

Drew weather sounds good.
Luther they say we are ahead for the year but very dry here now. No showers sneaking over Red river.

Dennis love old railroad stuff.
RNG the air quality is really dogging you, sorry you did not get to see the mill, hope you get the alternator finished to your satisfaction
David hope you get tractor back soon, nice to see progress on project
Lou never had a bearing grease packer, always did them by hand, would repack 1 per year.
Randy had several guy in college whose family raced carts.
PJ great story.
Mike glad to hear front porch coming along, not familiar with regen, what happens to tractor?
Bill sounds s like quite the ordeal.
Rich good to hear all is going well.
Ted since not on boat trailer, grease will hang a little longer, but not for 6 years does sound out of character
prayers for all, especially Drew/move, Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter, RNG/fires, and Country/president.
Stay safe and healthy you all.

Turned into somewhat laid back, relaxing day. Watched Brady win 🤙🤙. Piddled around a bit, grilled a couple of steaks.
Highlight of day was unexpected drop in by friends, even if socially distant. They were in neighborhood checking out some bee keeping at another neighbor, but they have one of Kalani’s pups. Schroeder is 10 yo and recently developed heart issues. Jim didn’t need much an excuse to check out Makani. Great to see them in person.

Mostly, I knew where I was going, but the other drivers on the road didn't have a clue and just got in the way.
People in these parts seem to only know one way to work/cottage/camp etc.
I take a different route every month in the Dodge just for the heck of it.
I have done it all my working life, when I had wheels.
