Good morning!!!!

43*°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 62° today. Some rain clouds headed our way, and some have already been popping up nearby this morning. I'm definitely OK with this.

Day 1 of vacation turned into a bigtime "energy conservation day" for me. I even took two naps. So far, so good.

We were having a tough time with groudhogs in and around the barn for a long time. Since we put a radio in there a couple years ago and leave it on a talk radio station, we haven't seen a single one.

Keep counting, Phil. You're almost there.

Good to read Mike is back here again.

Gopher moved stone then pushed dirt back out, wife saw gopher :groundhog:. Got 1 ft square concrete step then washed dirt back down hole, covered with step then stone.:punch:

Mostly .. Your hole problem sounds more like armadillos .. than gophers?

Now Rick, are you saying his Wife cannot tell the difference between a gopher and an armadillo?:D

The last picking of okra from the summer garden is now flash boiled, cut breaded and frozen.

51F and "fair" @ 11:00, partly to mostly cloudy for the day and heading up to a high of 59F.

Lawn is getting to the point where it needs mowed again but will probably hold off for a few more days when it is warmer and drier.

Probably gather up some tools and start woodburner up in shop to get it warmed up, then start working on cleaning up hubs and bearings for debris blower. Remove what's left of existing deflector and see if I have enough suitable sheet metal to fab up a new deflector.

While a deflector that would ride on linear bearings would be slick, probably just simpler to make it a hinge and use a hydraulic cylinder to raise and lower it ... ;)

May get around to hanging some Irish Spring and other outside activities later after it warms up.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Boy! Just realized I put today's Good Morning post in the wrong forum!! No wonder I couldn't find it! (went into the pictures of your snow weapons thread).

Anyway, dump run is done...too wet to do any leaf blowing...should be OK tomorrow though.
Did go to the Deere dealer and put a down payment on the 4052. His eyes kinda bugged out when he saw the 2.5"-3" piles of 100's, 50's and 20's ($15K total) The tractor will be delivered in a couple weeks since it's coming from a sister dealer in Fulton NY. I'll post pictures when the tractor is delivered

Not too bad now, but it was a cold clammy night as a result of the low temperatures and rain we got yesterday. Clammy enough where I got my fall pajamas on...

70°F and 0 rain last 24 hours

Trip to PO and some garden clean up.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 9:15AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. Areas of smoke and haze are possible, reducing visibility at times. High 94F. Winds light and variable.
AQI 72 and 168, inside and out. The fire continues to creep northeast, still don't understand why they just don't put it out. Highway 70 remains closed as trees and boulders roll onto it from where the fire is burning. Lots of unhappy people up that way having to make a really long detour to get where they're going. Forest Service isn't winning any popularity contests.

Pushed dirt back in gopher hole with hose then put 5 lb stone on top of hole. Gopher moved stone then pushed dirt back out, wife saw gopher :groundhog:. Got 1 ft square concrete step then washed dirt back down hole, covered with step then stone.:punch: Next step is propane in the hole.

Don't forget to video the propane, OK Bruce?

Good to hear from you again, Mike, and hope things start going your way again...

Replaced most of the vacuum lines on the van with new silicone tubing, and replaced the Back Pressure Regulator in the process. Once warmed up, the EGR started working, so it's all set for a smog retest next week.

Got word that the tooth bar, wheel spacers, and top'n'tilt valve have all shipped, so it's the tractor's turn for some work next week. Might even wash and wax it; that would be your fault if it gets done, Ted.

Neighbor dropped by with a piece of drill rod he bought to replace a shaft on his grandfather's saw mill. Needed a couple of key ways cut, so I took care of that for him. He wanted to pay me for the work, but I just told him to start keeping track of the hours and he can help me out next time I need it. I also had to tell him I lost one of the keys; spent an hour looking for it, but he said the GF has a drawer full of 'em. Can't imagine where that key got to, but sure enough it'll show up next time I'm looking for something else.:mur: Think I'll drop by his place today and get a look at that mill. He told me it has three giant circular blades on it, so it sounds like quite the contraption...

The new alternator got here yesterday, too, so that's on the agenda for today, too.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Well, I got the front yard cut and promptly got myself a huge rock on the side of the driveway. Bent a blade. :(
No more grass cutting until I replace the blade on Monday.

Energy conservation for the rest of the day.

Tomorrow morning about 7 I am leaving to go to the junk yard. After hitting 2 bank machines and hooking up my wagons and a circle check it should be about 8 A.M. or a little after.

Congrats on the new tractor, Roy. Seems you'll only have to rearrange the numbers on your profile list.

Hope you get it before you need it.

Love watching the geese fly over.

Got my yard and field mowed. Field didn’t get mowed last time so it was tall. Got a little chilly.
Tree behind house is losing leaves.

Have my sermon ready for tomorrow, my one time a year while the minister is on vacation.

   / Good morning!!!! #119,795
Just make sure you keep your mouth closed when you look up. ;)

When I was building my house they would fly over low where you heard the whooshing sound from their wings.

Drew, I noticed a sign at the PA turnpike they aren’t issuing tickets, said they will mail you the bill. Didn’t say if they accept EZpass.

Got home from Front Royal about 8:45, about half hour delay at the Bay Bridge due to a “police matter”, sorry I missed the Alabama/Texas A&M game. Had a good visit, my youngest grandson kept hugging me every few minutes, I asked him why so many hugs, he said because I love you pop pop! Made the long ride worth it for sure. 44° now and predicted low for tonight. Had a hot shower and some yogurt covered raisins now it’s time for bed.

Good evening all. 55F for the start, clear sky, windy. Sky stayed mostly clear, wind gusting to 25, and high temp was 83F. Drive to Muenster for 60 mile ride went very well. Once home again, snacked napped, saw gopher pushed dirt again to side of concrete block. :mur: more tomorrow.
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague 190 confirmed cases, 12 active cases, Grayson 1964 confirmed cases, 90 active cases.
Drew sorry your foot not as good today, hope it is up for a walk tomorrow.
Phil 3 days!
Billy glad you are having nice weather, Mr gopher is VERY persistent.
Bill I have trouble getting motivated to cut grass in 48F temps
Ron please post pics of drone flight, nice feeder pic, gopher has not left yet.
Thomas pic is a hoot!
Dennis this on is the picture of persistence
Thomas sorry you will miss fair, usually ride 6-8 organized rides a year, today was first one not cancelled.
Don I am tempted to take you up on Grey2. Good luck with weather stripping repair
Drew looks like your PA meals are planned already :)
Mike welcome back, thanks for the update, sorry about the covid-19 issues.
Rick definitely gopher
Ted thanks for Max update, good luck with trailer bearings that should be easy for you.
RS have fun playing with blower
Roy you are neither the first or the last to do that. I don't ever remember seeing that much cash. Congrats on new tractor
David still waiting for tractor?
RNG good new on EGR, love to see pics of sawmill, don't plan on lighting the propane, good luck with alternator
Dennis pretty tree, good luck with sermon.
prayers for all, especially Drew/move, Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter, RNG/fire, and Country/president

good morning all, up too early but wide awake so...

Dennis, not to worry about the turnpike, I put it on cruise at 75, 5 over the limit and most of the world flies by me. I even added money to my EZPass to make sure it was ok, good thing, they had an old expired credit card number on account for replenishment. I bet they still stop you for other things, hope so, lot of bad drugs get found that way.

I asked him why so many hugs, he said because I love you pop pop
Simply precious Randy.

Mostly, hope you get your gopher.

57 out now, going up to 67, chance of showers today, then lovely weather for rest of week, warming up again, 81 on Wednesday
Looks like a good week for Buppies and others to get things done outside

   / Good morning!!!! #119,800
Good morning all

38 now dew point 34 high of 64 today.
Another sunny day today which I love but we still need a lot more rain. According to the state drought people we are short 10 to 12 inches for the year. The majority of the state is listed as severe and a growing portion as extreme. With the volume of new construction going on I think water is going to be a long term issue in the southern tier of the state.

Pulled the walk behind snow blower out of the shed for some routine maintenance BEFORE winter this year.
Time to service the tractor as well. For me these are therapeutic things to do.

Thoughts and prayers for those dealing with personal loss.
To those dealing with the fire, smoke and Mother Nature stay safe.

Enjoy your day everyone.
