Tropical Depression Twenty-Two Is Expected to Become Tropical Storm Wilfred in the Western Gulf of Mexico | The Weather Channel

those of you in Texas looking for rain, looks like it's headed your way this week

I've only been to Europe once, but was totally awe struck by the interior of the large churches, the incredible stained glass and artwork.
They spent years and years building these places, not like today's 1-2 year projects.
Castles were neat, but the churches made me feel humbled and reverent, well a little.

66 going to 72. Cloudy, but rain's about over.

RS, hope you weren't standing as close to that yellow jacket nest as it looks...or wearing suit of armor. Cool photo.

Had hoped to mow a little before the rain got here yesterday, so sharpened blades, cleaned the crud from under the deck, and cha-chinged the mower on Wednesday, but rain began earlier that forecasted yesterday. So went for a hike in the rain since it was light for a long time when it began...a very nice soaker...for the seeds I planted, which have germinated.

Roy, I've noticed some leaves changing and falling here, too, but not as many acorns as usual..had a late May freeze.

Don, when does that campground open? Nice looking work.

...and had to walk 6 miles uphill both ways barefoot to borrow it? :)

Nope. Only 4 miles .. but yes .. on uphill both ways. The 60 mph winds .. were the really bad part.

Good morning! 68˚F, no wind, 97% humidity, heading to the mid 80s.

They are having an extra Park day today but they announced it too late, I already have the truck full of supplies for the outlander (Mom). I'll take my chainsaw and buzz around her house, there is always some limbs to cut or fence line to clear.

Wngsprd, the park is scheduled to open up in December, the exact date has not been announced. They were getting ready to paint the lines in the parking lots this week along with moving the picnic tables in next week.

The neighborhood Hiking Club Trail maintenance SIG is starting up again this week, but after a hard day of clearing I need a day of rest or it doesn't become fun.

Picked a big bag of okra yesterday - they are at their peak producing about 30 pods every 2 days. I wish they would be finished, I need to till for the Fall/Winter garden.

David don't forget to keep a two months supply of the "Hot" items like toilet paper.

1.42” of rain and it stopped several hours ahead of prediction. One cell passed about twenty miles south dumped 2” in an hour this morning. Those people have over 3” and still raining there.
Nice cool weekend coming, looking forward to some sweatshirt weather.

The camping experiences were entertaining.
The boat talk makes me wish I could it one more time, but it’s like my motorcycle days, they are behind me.

Be well, stay safe and let the good Lord love you.

news this morning warned of velvet ants, large red and black ants with stingers up to one inch long.
I've never seen one, sounds like I hope not to, several folks said bite was much worse than fire ants, and those
I have plenty of experience with. Also known as "cow killers"... actually they are a type of wasp
