Good morning!!!!

Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 98F. Winds light and variable.
Looks like steadily increasing temps through Tuesday, peaking Sunday at 110F. Then dropping into the mid 90s again. Summer is still alive and well out here for a while yet. Looking over the electrical use over the past few days, the solar panels have been doing a good job pumping just about as much energy back into the grid as is being used when the sun goes down. This weekend will be a good test to see if they can stay even.

PG&E sent out their first Public Safety Power Shutoff warnings yesterday, too. It seems like Sunday's highs will be accompanied by some wind, and with vegetation as dry as it is, any fires that start will rapidly spread. And since they've talked more about upgrading their grid than actually doing anything about all the deferred maintenance, chances of sparking from downed lines are still high.

Good luck with your new network design, David MFW. Most mesh systems lose half their bandwidth each hop they make, so be sure you pick one that uses a dedicated backhaul channel, either wired or wireless, if you go that route. The Unifi ship has already sailed at this place, no goin' back now...

Had to look at those frogs twice to see they were real, Ron, not like one of Drew's old ceramic turtles.

That's a lot of doctor appointments, Drew. Hope your news continues to be good. And that goes double for those others out there also facing medical issues!

They say black snakes are "good" snakes to have around, Billy, but that one needs to be taught some manners!

After lots of reading and head scratching yesterday, it doesn't seem like the Montana dodge is gonna work, either. Turns out California defines residency by how long a vehicle spends in state, and if over half a year, they require it to be licensed in California. And you must be able to show proof of where it was for the other half year. So now I'm taking three big steps back and looking at all my options, which are many and varied, but none of them are cheap.

Got no less than six status notifications from the USPS yesterday, all declaring that the o'scope would be delivered today. FedEx notices, too, for more network cameras and the new monitor.

That dead oak up at the gate was leaning far enough that a limb was preventing the gate from opening all the way, so I went after it with the loping shears. The wood is very hard and it was all I could do to get through a half inch, let alone the inch I would have liked. It was enough, but doesn't leave much room if the tree keeps leaning. Just need to have it stay up until it starts raining and I can take it down safely.

Looks like another bad air day here, so maybe I'll take another lick at the garage clean up/reorganization until the solar power fans make it too warm in there to do anything. Then who knows, maybe a nap?

TGIF gang!:drink:

Good morning! 72˚F heading to the mid 80s with overcast skies chance of rain. The Tempest weather station is reporting that it rained for 43 minutes in the backyard last night for a total of .65".
Road trip today to take supplies to the outlander, Mom. I need to stop by HD and pick up some pluming supplies her well pump pluming is leaking, she has city water for the house so no big emergency.

LS daughter and Ellen prayers sent.

LS, you certainly have my prayers, Ellen is dealing with the same situation. She hoes at 9 this morning for a back up mammogram/sonogram. She has a small shadow. They think it’s from a calcium deposit years ago that was tagged, same area. But there’s nothing like peace of mind.

Prayers for Ellen too. My cousin went through this, and she wore some kind of Head gear that kept her head cold whilst administering the harsh drugs. She kept her hair that way.

Ron might be eating frog legs in a few weeks. :)

I've eaten them, and alligator too. At Pappadeaux cajun restaurant.

RNG, I'd be totally frustrated about the subaru vanagon issue. Don't they know it lets out less emissions than a stock air cooled vw motor?

56°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 80° today.

Got some surprise rain yesterday in the early evening. Not a lot, but every little bit helps.

Congrats on the great news, Roy.

Hey all,

I started my Moving & Remodeling thread here... https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/rural-living/429629-moving-mossflower-new-woods.html

Frankenbota - I grew up in Portland OR, left for Navy, came back, left in June 1999. Loved the Waterfront Blues Festival. I remain a hard core Blues fan to this day from the music scene back then, but I can't really find any of it here...

Kyle, I LOVE Pappadeux... OMG...

RNG - Thank you sir!

Randy - Praying for Ellen!!!

Be well all,
David

Good news for Ellen! Only a calcification, she didn’t need the sonogram. A lot of smiles around here.

LS, I hope your family gets good news tomorrow.

Good morning to all! We are looking forward to the cooler weather next week.... this weekend will still be hot! There are forecast models showing some high elevation mountain snows Monday and Tuesday nights.

We are still trying to deal with the news from our daughter.... waiting to hear any results is un-nerving.....

I read the recent posts, but forgive me.... I can't remember most of what I read.... brain is full!

Headache has fully subsided, slept ok last night, as best as could be expected....

Everyone have a great start to the weekend!

Good news Randy. Don't be surprised if after every mammogram a second one will always be required/requested which will always cause concern. The calcium will always show up, same thing with my mom every few years.

68F and partly cloudy @ 10:30, high predicted to hit 75F today with northwest winds @ 10 to 15 mph, 0% chance of precipitation.

Good morning.

First item on today's agenda will be to change out the leaking hydraulic hose on the loader.

After that I might go down and work on shoveling out the crossing area on the dry creek bed so the culvert pipes can be be laid and set ... since it's nice and cool out.

Trim back big rhododendron in front of garage with pole saw to get it off the wires.

Finish up prep on northwest planting bed and perhaps transplant some rhododendrons and hosta.

Check newly sown grass seed around catch basins to make sure it's staying moist.

Possibly trim back big Japanese yew on east side of house once that area is in shade.

Recheck grass height ... it could be mowed now, but can probably go another day.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Drew I know that you are not in this situation but if you were I would advise you not to move into a 55+ neighborhood. The situation is that if you can think of any reason why you might find yourself in the position of being a caregiver for a minor (under18). The rules are very specific in both my community and the one you are looking at and most people think that it does not apply to them, but it does. A minor can only stay in the house a certain number of days a year.

One of the local high schools had to go back to remote learning because of the heat and that the building isn't air conditioned aggravated by the fact that everyone had to wear masks. I have worn a n95 for pretty long periods of time but those were the kind with the exhaust valve. I saw that LG announced a battery powered HEPA face mask but there were questions about how it would work.

This week has been wet. It seemed like every time I looked out the window it was raining. The rain combined with the heavy dew means that the lawn is almost never dry. I hate mowing wet grass.

Good morning! Hope you all have a great weekend and no labor for a few days. Slacking is mandatory!

67°F and .33 inches rain.

Gonna attempt another day ignoring all those things calling my name, but I swear some of them are getting irritating. Patience, patience where are you?

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

92/104 here at Randy’s Game Preserve and Backyard Wildlife Emporium, as my son in law calls it.

Been out moving implements to create more room in the tractor garage, it’s only 12’x24’ and can get cramped with two tractors, land plane, back blade, York rake and various other things that could be outside for now. There would be a lot more room if the deck was off the MF. I put a docking line on each corner of the plane and looped it in a channel on the ends of the bucket, near perfect balance, worked great.
Now I gotta cool off and rehydrate.

really hot out, 95 and bright sun.
Traffic at 3pm headed into town to get laundry looked like peak rush hour, lots of cars
and trucks headed out early for holiday weekend.

Don, thanks. Not my reality, very specific rules about how often young folks can come visit, just don't stay...
Can't wait for cooler weather tomorrow, these late afternoons in sunshine make it pretty warm in rv even with floor fan running.
Going to get a cold drink and just chill, sort of.

Well, our day just got brighter! Who says the power of prayers is not real! My daughter called with a very positive report.... 98% probability that it is NON-CANCEROUS ! They are scheduling a multitude of tests to try and pinpoint what it is, but suspected infection of some sort.

Thank you for all the support and prayers.... its not over yet, but still very good news!

It’s over, they just haven’t closed the door all the way! Congratulations, and yes, prayer is powerful.
We’ve both been blessed today.
