Good morning!

81 here with a heat index of 94! :fiery:

It's going to be another hot day. I got overheated Friday and took the weekend off to recover. Been working on the 3910 for what seems forever but I only work until lunch. After that, it's just too hot. A good clean, metal repairs and paint along with adding remotes (3) and rebuilding lift cylinder. A new top and fan going in too.

Have a good day and hope yours is cooler.

Good morning! 80˚F before sunrise heading to 100˚F.

I saw this morning that my RING doorbell motion detector picked up an intruder at the front door - a baby raccoon or a very large rat. I don't know if I want Gray2 tackling that thing.

Cooking day - have everything for a berry/peach cobbler and okra gumbo and assemble day - for my garden hose reel cart (23 steps).

So far we made all our food since this covid thing started.
Is the Covid test too sensitive in cases like my BIL with no symptoms and so far no other of his close family has contracted it? This would explain it.

Waiting on first cup of coffee to cool. 53ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 79ー with mix of sun and clouds. Got 2 coats of paint on fascia yesterday. Except for peak of front porch. It still needs another coat. Neighbor is coming over to do that high area today. Few touch up area's today. Then sit back and conserve energy.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. We were married 58 years.

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 3:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 98F. Winds light and variable.
Up way too early, might end up taking a page out of Bruce's and Drew's books and have a nap this afternoon!

Sounds like you all had busy weekends! Sure could use some of that rain that fell on some of you. It would really help to clear the air...

Good news on the Speedaire, Kyle. Good luck with the big 'un at work. How much more money they gonna throw at it before they spring for a new one? I had a heck of a time understanding the guy at the Texas auction house where I got the tractor. Sounded like he had a mouth full of marbles...

Sounds like a good way to end the day, David.

I love it when a plan comes together, Ted. Gonna paint it blue?

Three fires in 3/4 of a mile along the main drag going into Paradise, CA yesterday Rick. CalFire is looking for the responsible vehicle...

Been putting up with a vertical line running down the face of the main computer monitor in the office, first just one very thin one, but now there are two more and the original one is three times as wide. Started coming up to speed on monitors yesterday, and as with most technology these days, there are many more choices and things to consider. The good news is that prices have fallen drastically, and sizes are up; there's no such thing as too much screen. The bad news is that I have yet to find one that doesn't have at least 10% below average reviews, usually for problems like back light bleeding in around the edges, breaks after a month or two, or the same vertical lines I'm already seeing. So it's another case of throwing the dice and making a choice. Philips seems to have the best warranty, but lots of people seem to be using it. Samsung and LG have warranties, too, but people have trouble getting them honored. Viewsonic has been around forever, so maybe that's a good thing. Then there are the BenQ/Septre/Acer/Asus/AOC brands I've never heard of before. Too many choices!:confused2:

Got the valve body for the top'n'tilt packed up yesterday, all 23 pounds of it. I'll run it into town today and do a few other errands while I'm in there.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

Re B52s.

I was in the defense industry, mostly electronics etc but I知 curious and read a lot so, one day I bumped into an article on the B52.

Quite a few defense contracts/programs are politically motivated. Best example I can remember is Raytheon put a Patriot mission assembly plant in.......the mountains of east Tn, a real hotbed of technology. I happened to be in the right place at the right to on that deal! I致e been there many many times. A very close friend is from E Tn., you can tell because he speaks a different language! I both love the area and the people but, they do not have a strong background in building electronic warfare systems. Politics!

The B52 certainly paid for itself. My good good golf buddy of 40 years said when he was in Vietnam in 1969 he worked on B52s. He said, when it comes to a B52, beat it fit, paint it to match!

59 feeling like fall on the Eastern Shore, 80 later.
I have to mow today but there’s a huge dewfall this morning, so it’s gotta dry a bit. Might do some trimming while I’m waiting.

Ron, my late wife and I were married 42 years, we were looking forward to big celebration for the (50th. We just don’t know what life has in store.

David with mortgage rates so low hopefully you will have no trouble selling your property again. In my neighborhood it looks like houses are selling in a week or two. That's how it was when the market was hot several years ago. I can't understand this economy. It looks like the economy should be in the dumps but it seems to be off to the races. Good luck.

Chris

Chris,

Basically that is the plan. I've not rescinded my tenant's 60 day notice so she has to move, and I suspect that if not sold, it will be the second it is vacant...

I'm hoping to get at least as good of ma offer, and I'm mostly bothered about the 6 weeks of summer market we missed while "Under Contract".

God has a plan for me, it will work out somehow, it always does.

Be well,
David

Morning y'all!!!

Well I mowed my ranch that I'm selling and met with the family of the 5 brothers buying my place and they LOVE THE LAND awesome people.

I've got tentative plan for movers on the 19th.

I forgot to take pictures, but the well driller was parked at my new place Saturday, drilling today I suspect. (Existing well is across a property line so I get a new one and only pay 1/2 price!) also they are about to pave the subdivision, and when they do they will pave about 350' of driveway for me and they had completed the grading/gravel and WOW it was sweet!!!

I'm sorry that I'm only here part time and I cannot with the updates but I love all of as near and dear friends. I'm sorry that I can't keep up.

Please Be well,
David

67 going to 78 and likely some showers.

Buppies, thanks. Hope you don't get the big rain. We just had some sprinkles.

Ron, the year went by fast...seems like only yesterday you shared the sad news about Betty's passing.

Was able to finally get the ground dry and the winds light enough at the same time to do some spraying with the 3pt sprayer yesterday. I'll be planting some oats/rye/wheat/peas for the winter.

decided to go explore the local city park and get some exercise walking around. Very pretty place, big, totally deserted on a Monday morning except for two old guys fishing off one of the docks, they looked like regulars. Lots of benches, pavilions, sand boxes, fire pits and even a little dock area. Most improvements looked pretty new though the whole place could have used some mowing. Was fun to walk around and mostly stay in the shade.

Heading West out of the Pamlico Sound one continues into the Pamlico River, which changes its name at Washington and is the Tar River as it comes West to Greenville, where I am now. This whole parkland area is tied into the Tar River, which flooded badly in the last hurricane, hence the floating docks I saw.

will sure be glad when Mifi resets itself in four days and I get my regular speed back...this took me more than ten minutes to post and I'm surprised it didn't crash. And I used to have 85 down/30up...sigh.

Good morning to all! Low made it down to the mid 50's, may go as low as 48 tonight. Our high today is forecasted for 86, tomorrow only 82. Nice for a change! Short lived though, back up into the low 90's by the end of the week.

Drew, that park is very nice, I am glad you were able to enjoy the walk.

Ron, as usual, a very good picture of the woodpecker. I look forward to your pics every morning!

Roy, good luck with the CT scan... prayers sent for everything to show normal. I should get the welders in place today and finish it up.

Moss, don't worry... things will fall into place. Hope your packing goes smoothly!

Rng, I had the LS blue paint in my hand, then decided to just use black on the new parts of metal frames (the old grill legs were black). Now your making me reconsider my decision..... one welder is red, the other is blue.... black goes with both, blue .... ??

Ok... Now I need suggestions for which color for the cart.... Blue or Black??

There is a small window of time to decide... first I have to run some errands this morning, then make some calls.... then I can get out to finish. Hopefully enough time leftover... if not then tomorrow...

Everyone have a great day and start to the week!
