Was very hot here today about 96. My daughter came back from vacation in Las Vegas. She did not believe me that it would be very hot there before she went out there. She got religion

"The best advice I was given about tinnitus was to just accept it as an inevitable constant background noise that I can never get rid of but can eventually become accustomed to. I was sceptical that I could ever do that, but after a few years I have just about come to terms with the fact that there will never be true silence again and now that does not annoy me anything like it once did."
This pretty much nails it, Eric. Same here.
Well, except now that everyone is talking about it again ...
For those who don't have the privilege of enjoying tinnitus, once you get to the point that you accept it, you learn to ignore it ... that is, until someone even just mentions the word, which causes that delicate veil to immediately fall away, and it's once again screaming at you with a vengence.
.

Yep, I didn’t notice mine till I read this, now my ears are suddenly ringing.

Here is how it came out in the living/ dining area. I hope they can do the same with the bedrooms. All will be 3/4 thick boards.Walnut to tile and walnut to oak boards. The oak installed myself when we built.

Another busy day, but at least it’s keeping me from rioting at night

Storm on the radar in south PA heading this way. Got the rest of potatoes dug tonight, so rain away.
Went and got 4 cans of gas also, after about filling the ZT.

If I put down wood flooring I’ll have to trim a lot of door frames. In kitchen do you butt up to cabinet bottoms or set cabinets on top of wood flooring? My sheet flooring was installed before my cabinets. I would prefer cabinets on top of flooring, which is a lot more work.

Radar looks like we might get just some dampness soon, all the heavy stuff vanished from the radar near us.

I experience what I call a low level tinnitus, probably tolerable 95% of time. Most of the time I can almost ignore it, especially with background noise such as the radio on. But there are times I think it also works against me. Sometimes when watching TV I hear but can’t distinguish individual words that appear to be some sort of frequency match to my internal. Increasing the volume doesn’t help, just louder but still something of an audible blur.

Got about 4 acres mowed, about an hour’s work left. Quit when the low fuel light came on. Figured it was as good an excuse to quit for the day as any. Now I’ll watch some of RNC and have a cold one.

57 today...high in the mid-70's....looks to be a very pleasant day ahead.

Up late since the truck is in the shop and I'll be working from home. No idea how the audit's going in CT...they're very demanding when they need something from me, but not so accommodating when I need (or want) something from them. I guess we're considered the rednecks from New Hampshire, not worthy and all that crap. Well, the closing meeting is this afternoon and that'll be it for another year.

Good morning all. Raining again here, though as the weatherman said, nothing compared to what some in the path of Laura have seen.

MFW, hope the house sale goes easier the next time.

Bear came again last night on front porch looking around

 What are you going to do Bups ?
Now you have shared that, I'm going to be having nightmares again - and we don't have bears ! - or even a porch !

Something wasn't quite right as I walked over the top of the hill and looked down on the sheep. A few looked a little whiter than normal - see if you can tell the odd ones out from this slightly grainy cropped pic.

good morning all. Going to be a hot day, still 79 out overnight, going up into 90's. Got a bit warm in rv yesterday, going to turn down the thermostat early and try
to keep it cooler in here today.

Drew so only a few days after recovery, you are back in for more chemo?
I have to wait a minimum of 24 hours and then I return for a quick shot of Nulasta (sp?) which hops up white blood production in bone marrow.
The chemo cocktail of four drugs I get beats down both white and red blood cell production, so I take iron pills, and then I get this shot a day after chemo, but since chemo
isn't done until 5pm, I go the following morning. They say it can you give you bone pain, but so far no ill effects for me. But then with my bad arthritis, I hurt anyway so maybe it's masked,
and taking five days of prednisone after chemo makes most of the pain go away anyway. Lot of nasty chemicals I will be glad to stop using...

sad email from close friend, his next door neighbor in Delray Beach FL passed away last night after getting Covid. I asked him if neighbor was obese or had
underlying medical issues, but still a loss. More and more examples getting close to home...I'm still very careful and have to be until I'm done chemo and my white blood count
gets higher. It's still in mid range, which is actually really good. I would not want to be overweight, smoke and have diabetes right now...

Enjoy the day all.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 68ー with thunderstorms this morning. Heading to 82ー with continued thunderstorms. Got woke up at 2:30 with first storm. 1 1/4" rain so far. Did not go back to sleep. Spent most of yesterday inside. Today may be a good day to stay inside and do house work. Give Sassy a bath.
Tinnitus, I have learned to ignore it. Well that is until someone mentions it. Maybe it's all the thunder this morning that has made it very noticeable.
Still trying to get that perfect hummingbird picture.
duuJh4p.jpg

Roy, hope your truck is only in for normal maintenance.

Buppies, no bears here. But Sassy if finding some very interesting piles to roll in. Her and I had a very serious talk about it yesterday. Used a spray wash on her.

Phil, floors look good. Tile floor looks a lot like what I put in my main bathroom.

RS, i need to get a couple of tomatoes for TL sandwiches. 11% until September 7.

Drew, good to here treatments are working.

M4070, :welcome: to GM.

MFW, hope resale goes good.

PJ, now we need pictures of finished pond project.

Thomas, I like my Dash Cam. It is part of my Garmin GPS.

David, got any project pictures?

RNG, way to many projects on the list. Hope you are getting most of them completed.

Everyone be Safe and Healthy.

Good Morning All.

Eric, don't shear the bright white "sheep"!

Good morning! Yikes, before sunrise 80˚F heading to 102˚F. I might have to put my current project on hold for a week, the 100+ degree days are settling back in for a while.

The UPS is charging up and will make the conversion later today. I have to cut some holes in the sheetrock to get the cable to reach so it's more than just plugging in the devices.

I started the trench on the side of my garden to install the root barrier, this is going to take a few weeks. The tractor will not fit so it's all hand work with lots of stones and clay and roots. a big price to pay for a little shade in the later afternoon but worth it, if it would just get cooler during the digging.

Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 5:30AM. Sunny. High 98F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

It reads like all that clean livin' is payin' off, Drew. How many more rounds of chemo left now?

Hummers are hard to photograph, Ron. They move fast and never sit still. Does your camera have a sports mode where it captures several shots in rapid succession?

Looks like you found your roots, Don. Yes, that's a job best accomplished in small doses, hopefully early in the morning while it's cooler.

I know swans do, but do sheep swim, Eric?

:welcome: M4070. What's going on there in your avatar shot?

More than 70 new cases of CV19 in the county here yesterday, Bruce. There have been many problems with the reporting, so it's unclear if several days bunched up or the case rate is actually taking off. Per capita rate is over 150/100,000, half again higher than needed for the extra restrictions are lifted, and I can get a haircut again.

I hear you on the tinnitus, friends. I can mostly ignore it until the subject comes up. FWIW, Stephen Still's hearing was damaged as a child, and his unusual guitar tuning is one of the results.

Nice work on the floors, Phil. Tile looks close to what I put down in the master bath.

Got the firetruck tarped again yesterday morning, this time using magnets to hold the edges down. It took pliers to pry them off the keeper steel they were being stored on, but I'm still curious how well they'll work when the winter storms come.

Smoke was pretty light, so I stretched that old Ethernet cable out and had another go at finding the short. Found one nick in the insulation about where the tester said it would be, but nothing more. Marked the cable as bad and set it aside to use once the rest of that box runs out.

Slight cooling trend through the weekend, so I'll try to hang out inside most of the day today. Smoke levels outside are still hazardous this morning, but might still get something done out in the garage before it warms up too much.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Chris, I found it very helpful thank you and motivated me to send some suggestions for HEPA filters to my Quaker Meeting so maybe we can finally open up on Sundays.

Toppop, your Massey is a very modern design, like a modern swiss army knife, not sure RS's older tractor works that easily. Let's see if he says five minutes...

Ron, thanks I remember trying to do this on lawn and not concrete and it was a hernia producing event.

My deck is drive over Drew, I forgot that.
