Good evening all. 71F for the start, clear sky, calm wind. Light wind day, mostly clear sky and high temp was 93F. meeting this morning, walk with wife, bike ride and change oil in truck. That went smooth except for drain plug popping out and cardboard not quite large enough to totally contain spill. Cartridge filter something of a pain but went better this time around, small oring tight.

Mostly, That batch of cukes pretty much gone, shared with neighbors and friends. There will be more tomorrow.
Another friend shared a recipe for cucumber & tomato shirazi salad which I made but with changes of course.

That along with what Sophie calls Japanese pickles made a couple days ago and air fryer zucchini fries made for a great lunch/dinner from the garden.

For the curious
Fresh cukes and tomatoes - chopped
Salt and pepper
Original vs mine
Sliced white onion vs chopped garlic
Fresh cilantro vs fresh cilantro and basil
Fresh lemon juice vs fresh lime juice and lilikoi juice.
Tomatoes halved
Cukes sliced.
All tossed together.

Good Afternoon all!

I'm a bit stunned, I just got a call from my realtor. The first group to look at my house/property Sunday wrote me a full price offer, with no home inspection...

WOW...

I'm moving!!!

God is good...

Be well all of you.
David
We're seeing the same thing in New England...mostly New Yorkers and others bailing out of the city. My stepdaughter and wife drove to north of Laconia NH to look at a house we were interested in...after looking (no realtor involved), they contacted the realtor for a tour...realtor called back shortly thereafter and said there were already 5 bids on the place...at full asking price or above.
Although I can't blame them, or the realtors that eagerly accept those bids, but little doubt those newbies to a state will want to change their new state...for the worse, most likely. Also, drive up a lot of prices on everything.

Rather cool 51 degrees right now...going to have to start sleeping with my bedroom windows closed pretty soon...high in the lower 70's today.
Lot of work today prepping for the audit. We normally do OK in audits...hope that trend continues

73 out now going up to 85 today, with good chance of rain/thunderstorms this afternoon. It got pretty warm out yesterday on a very sunny day.
I bet the local lawns are growing like mad.

Mostly, treat yourself to these, or something similar. I found them particularly helpful controlling the oil drippings not only underneath but near oil filter area.

Roy, good luck with audit, sure you will do well. Like a good paint job, all in the prep...

I'm off to grocery store early this morning, and then not much else planned. I might crawl under rv and clean/lube the slide rails. Wish I had a step ladder, another
thing that vanished when I sold the farm. I used to have three different sizes, now none. When I get to PA, will invest in at least one. Just no room to store one now although I suppose I could put it in storage locker. Hmmm. I want to lube the rubber gaskets and good part of them are up several feet too high. Maybe a trip to Walmart is in order after food shopping.

woke up with sore neck, have a heating pad on it now. I can sleep either flat on my back or somewhat to one side. When I wake up finding myself on
"the wrong side" I know it will catch up with me. Sometimes you just never know where this stuff comes from. The joys of getting younger...

Childhood friend of mine in Doylestown PA who owns a coffee company, which sadly is down about 50 percent currently, has been trying to be creative in finding new markets. One is using his son's talents building things out of metal. They invested in a CNC driven plasma cutter, a big brake and some other similar tools. First they started building stands for hand sanitizer stations and can hardly keep up with demand. Now his son is building steel fire pits for back yards. He has a Youtube video on it, want to get permission first to list it here, and suggested son join this site and be active in the Shop Time thread, one of my favorites watching all the talent here. I complimented the son on his really nice work, and chewed his butt for grinding welds without wearing eye protection. But a couple of you would enjoy and know how to use that CNC cutter. I personally found cutting metal the old fashioned way to be a huge amount of work and very demotivating.

I hope you all have a good day, started off with a Good Morning.

David, lilikoi juice aka passion fruit juice?
expensive stuff to buy in States, like macadamia nuts, but I bet it's not bad where you are.
Do you buy the fruit or the puree/juice?
cuke salad sounds yummy

75F clouds and sun.

Been think about getting rid of several stumps bunch rocks and smooth lower end of the field for while,as I was hooking up rear blade Mrs. ask what I had plan and I told her all she said "don't get stuck like you did couple years ago"...that indeed was very costly mistake :ashamed: and she left for, while hooking up back blade I notice something white moving behind BIG pine tree about 30 yards thinking it was deer laying down  than from behind pine tree appear Boo with bag of bird seed  Boo took off bag and all, somehow Boo figure out how to open 55 gallon cover snap ring top and he took not 1 bag but 2 bags of seed during the night...we will be have chat soon... did get all stumps rocks remove until 15 min. down hit hard in which weatherman said no rain in site  now have to wait to ground dries. :(

Mrs. put old table out for the critters got say they keep the area very clean and you never know who will show up.

Not much plan for this evening other than numbing it.

Enjoy the evening all.

Is Boo considered a critter? If not, I guess he can't read, but very smart just the same getting that container opened...hope your talk goes well. Nice turkey family.

Rain and 66. Had a nice lightning show with this storm. Only looking for 81.

Paul, glad you a had a nice day off to get your birthday started.

MFW, congrats on your home sale. Seems odd to not seek an inspection...think the buyer will develop it as a neighborhood or build an entirely new house?

Sharpened the zero turn blades, and scraped about 100 lbs of moldy grass crud from under the mower deck yesterday, enough weight to tear the old tarp in half as I was dragging the pile away. But it sure cuts well now...glad I got most everything mowed, even though I had to cut about an inch higher due to the grass height and moisture content. I'm sure I need to clean the deck again...after things dry out.

RNG, I heard yesterday that California shut down enough natural gas power plants to equal double the current electric grid shortage. Not good planning since solar sleeps at night, and I guess the state didn't put in a battery system like you and David. Do you have a date planned to do a "dry" run coordinated drill of all your disaster recovery systems?

David/MFW, marvelous, hope it all goes easily.

Paul, those walk behind string trimmers are fun to use, just beat the crap out of everything, very powerful...

nice surprise this afternoon when I tried the voice activation on Audi nav system and it started working again.
I guess they were trying to pressure me to pay for the extra service which I don't need, don't want, etc by turning it off temporarily.

couldn't find a PO drop box in any local shopping center (were they removed??...) so went to one of the Greenville PO offices and dropped off
a bill payment. Was close to ECU campus and lots of students walking around. Only 15 minutes to get most places for me, really convenient, took a new "back way" home past a variety of manufactured housing developments, lot of lower income folk in this area.

USPS has been removing thousands of less used boxes since at least 2008-2010.

Enjoy the day all.

Good morning! It was a chilling 69˚F this morning briefly. 70˚F now, wet bulb temp is 64˚F, humidity 76%.

Pjs happy birthday.
David M, wow that was a fast sale, congratulations. Has the contract on your new place been accepted?

Heading out to the Park, our neighborhood group of 6 to 15 people should be hitting 800 volunteer hours this week. We are starting on the primitive camping sites this morning so there is a little more ground work to remove tripping hazards. Temp is supposed to stay below 90 before noon, high today only 97˚F, could this be the end of 100˚ days?

I wish we were all in Hawaii, having a beer at David and Sophies....taking turns helping him mow....(before any barley pops).

Having had the distinct privilege of beer & dinner with David & Sophie atop their mountain paradise, it's totally worth the trip.

Woke up thinking about what all I need to get done today at work....time management.

Ted, good job on the project.

Maybe some tropical storms headed to Gulf.
Atlantic 2-Day Graphical Tropical Weather Outlook

Plasma cutters are neat. I wish I had one at work. Also wish I had a wire edm....and waterjet cutter....and a bigger cnc mill....but alas, I make do.

Awesome Awesome Awesome. YOU HAVE TO KEEP US TUNED IN BETTER ABOUT YOUR NEW DIGS.... (i demand it :) )

Kyle,

I promise a "Moving Mossflower" or similar thread... I PROMISE!

OK, there are just too many great comments I can't quote all of you, but even though I am rarely here, y'all still feel like family and I love each & every one of you very much.

Here are some answers...

The new place belongs to my BFF and no I've not written the contract, but I will as soon as we are in the same place. Much of this plan was his, he is VERY successful real estate developer (mostly commercial).

Both my realtor and I were shocked at "No Inspection" because you can see my house need TLC, I was planning to bulldoze it except for the basement. No idea why.

The buyers spoke with me a bit on Sunday. They are 4 brothers and all their family. They want a weekend/family fun/escape place.

I gave them permission and they spent well over an hour in 4x4 running my trails and exploring the property. I told them about the timber, the Bass in the pond, etc.

Yes, I need to start packing, but I need to think first, I will be living in the house (plus my daughter during visitation) during the remodel, so I need to pack the stuff I really need, and the stuff for later differently. I also need to consider the plan for storage of stuff not needed immediately.

I have a million questions for myself, I've never done a remodel, I've watched a ton of "Fixer-Upper" though!!!

LOL!!!

PS - It is fricken RAINING again!!! and Coffee is delicious. I went out singing Karaoke last night until midnight...

Be well all of you!

David
