Unlike Roy's grass, the grass here was not wet this morning, so I started mowing about 6 a.m., mowed, edged, trimmed, and started the sprinklers to water the grass. Just hot and dry weather for us in the foreseeable future.

Question to the team. Insuring a young driver.....

My daughter is almost ready to drive. Due to the virus, there is limited licensing going on. I have my old commuter car that would still be a decent local daily driver. Should I put it fully in her name, and then get liability only (let her only drive that car)? Or should I add her to our family policy, and take the huge hit?

Perhaps Drew can give a more definitive answer, but as I recall when our son got his license adding him to the policy was the only option. It was an age thing.

I don't really see how anyone else could answer that for you. Of course, many years ago, we had 2 daughters start to drive, 3 years apart, and I just put them, and their cars, on our insurance policy. But was that the best thing to do? I don't know. I thought so back then.

67F for a low this morning, currently 90F and sunny @ 15:00, feels like 99F. Forecast says it will stay above 90F until after 19:00. Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow.

Went to bed around 01:00, woke up a couple hours later with bad cramp in right foot. Got up and had a glass of water and three trace mineral tablets. Stayed up until around 06:00 working on next Menards order and researching caulk and paint then went back to bed. Will hydrate more today.

Got both saws moved around back yesterday and got all the ripping of the plywood done, and probably about 80% of the crosscuts done for barn owl boxes before I knocked off around 22:00. Nice to have a little extra room in the garage.

No further catches in sparrow trap as of yesterday, but have not seen anymore sparrows over in that area either, save for the one mother tending her nest box. Small possibility that it is a bluebird that occupied the nest box after I removed the original house sparrow nest. Need to recheck trap today, probably relocate.

Since I have the pallet forks on tractor, I'll move the auger rack over from the pole barn and do the one mod that needs done on it so augers can easily be attached and removed from the PHD. May also move the Simplicity over, if I can jigger things around to get it in the garage.

Also move small Sears compressor out back so I can use air nailers to tack barn owl boxes together as I glue them up.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Took the tractor to my daughter and SIL’s house, first time I have had it on my trailer. We moved a bunch of dirt from around the foundation and used it to level some low spots. They are creating a continuous flower bed around the house. Then we cleaned out around some stumps so they could be sawed shorter before grinding.
By the time I got home with the tractor, around 11, it was already 91 with heat index at 102, not mowing grass in that.
I sold my Borrego to CarMax the other day, didn’t drive it much since I got the Ram. I am going to miss that DOHC Genesis V8, but it was mostly sitting while I paid insurance on it.
93 with a heat index of 107 right now.
Ellen wants steaks on the grill, I told her I’d just put foil on one of the tables and lay them out on it.
Have a good day.

92F clouds here and there least 10mph wind often stir the air.

Got everything done and little more, while raking cleaning critter feeding area I notice spruce branches moving  as I slowly walk around stack wood pile my new helper was doing some weeding for me.

Not much plan for this evening Mrs. and I do drive thru fast food :confused3: follow by slow dirt road country ride, later on set on deck enjoy smooth cigar while listening to sounds sights darkness will offer.

Enjoy the evening all

When we added our sons each person was designated as the primary driver to a vehicle, didn’t make much sense cause they didn’t drive some of the vehicles. We just transferred one vehicle to my oldest son, and he had to get his own insurance policy since he was no longer living with us.
And that just reminded me I forgot to remove him from my policy.
