Drew, that house looks very much like ours in Ga without the extension. Built early 50s. Enjoy your search.

RNG, you give me too much credit. Remember the longer run I had to cut out the concrete. Still pleased with how it came out though.

Well, curiosity got the best of me... I had to look up my old property / house that I built in Bucks Co. years ago. I sold it in 1990 for $199K. When I just looked it up.... going price is $965K..... I should not have looked.... At least it is interesting that the same siding and color of shutters is the same. The few trees I planted near the house are humongous! I guess that is cool....

I can relate. Sold my 7 bedroom Victorian on the coast on Maine for $55K in 1979. Had paid $20K for it. About 5 years ago was just messing around and found it listed for $1.2M. And the buyer tore it down and rebuilt.

Prayers for both Jay and Peg, that's a lot to deal with.

Ken, thanks for looking that up for me. I got another lead a few hours later, Aquetong and Meeting House Road, first floor of carriage house on beautiful farm. Turns out
owner's parents used to be my insurance clients 30+ years ago, small world. I may have even insured the property... These are all rentals btw, so other than adding some window units, not investing anything in property. The pics you found Ken were actually uplifting, I thought this place would look a lot dumpier. Will know upon inspection, my SIL who lives outside NewHope is on the job. Here's where the second place is: Google Maps

just finished brewing pot of decaf coffee, my that smells nice. Amazon delivery just came in, going to read my book and enjoy the coffee. Diuretic impact of my old caffeinated stuff really messed me up, going to hold off on all caffeine until chemo is done. Having the room spin around was not fun at all.
94 degrees and sunny out.

That is near Peddlers village and a great area. Easy to get to Giant and Mcaffrey's (Which is new across from Giant).

502 Bad Gateway

I found something fun googling my childhood farm's address. Folks who tore down our 1720 stone colonial home and built a garage on
the foundation (must have been some real trickery to get that past restrictive zoning) then build this monstrosity just in front. Tara for sure.
but look down the pics and you will see my grandfather's house on the same farm, I lived there for several years, and part of the orchard and grape
arbor I was trained to prune as a kid. Nice to see that still there. 70 percent of farm went into permanent conservation, that was our family's requirement but sure looks
like they built up more than that. And no one wants to buy this ridiculous house. Look at the monthly cost estimates...maybe this could be a country home for one of the uber rich that pays 200M for an apartment that looks over Manhattan...on the market since 2017.
The view out the front door is of Bowman's Hill Tower, location, location...and my grandfather was genuinely worried he was paying too much for 116 acres at $16,000 ;)

I grew up bushhogging those fields with a John Deere B...
There are ten custom homes built back in the woods, all in the $2-4M range.
this is why I am not considering buying, just silly expensive

only 6.5 mil. My house is similar, I have a gazebo too !
Seeing the older stone houses are still there, they look great. glad your family had forethought to conserver. My FIL lived in an old stone house on River road, built around the same era. Is very changed now.
Make sure wherever you are looking has few if any stairs, will pay off long term.

Whoever said real estate is a poor investment never owned property in California.

Purchased my first home in Dublin, CA in about 1986 for $110K, sold it in '98 for $237.5K. Zillow thinks it's worth $857K now.

Purchased second home in Dublin, CA in '98 for $380K, sold it in '10 for $650K. Zillow sez $1.21M now.

In the ten years I've been in this place, it's still struggling to make a $100K price increase.

But then again, I'm not paying the property taxes on those first two places, either.

The first pic in the fore ground and background are some oaks we cleared under.
Second pic, the park skid steer is loading our cuttings on their dump trailer. The group is in background on one of our hourly breaks.

We had 12 in our group this morning working in the new park. The weather cooperated staying in the upper 80s and lower 90s with cloud cover. One more week and we might be done with this mile loop trail.
