I recall, many years ago....signing a card that was sent from one member to another, ultimately reaching a member who was in trying times.

It'd be nice to start that up again.

best I could do is send best wishes from all of us

Let me be one of many wishing you good health and happiness, concerned over not hearing from you.

I am a very happy camper for sure.
Got results of today's Pet Scan back, no spread of cancer at all, and affected area has shrunk/gone away by at least 75%.
Oncologist delighted, and so am I. Just might be around for awhile...
More chemo on Monday, bring it on.

Great news Drew!

Good morning. It was 79° this morning and getting to 95° this afternoon.

I spent most of yesterday afternoon mowing along our roads to make it look nice for the holiday weekend.

I need to replace one of the well water filter cartridges this morning and check the water softener system.

USPS dropped off my 1 7/16" wrench yesterday so .. I can finish changing out the 3rd function QD's on the New Holland.

Then back to mowing one of the pastures. That will be saved for after it gets hot this afternoon.

4.8M jobs added in June and unemployment dropped to 11.1%. Great news for our economy. Second month that the "experts" were under estimating .. our rebound.

Hope we hear from Jay soon.

Hoping everyone has an excellent day.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. High 94F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Very happy to read all the good medical news this morning. Best wishes for continued healing on all fronts, gentlemen.

That's a very proud looking bluebird, Ron. Too bad he's not more neighborly, but when it comes to sparrows, grackles, and starlings, he's doing what's necessary.
Start a van shop? R e d i c u l o u s!:shocked::laughing:

Sounds like good progress, Mike. But sometimes a little sting in the pocketbook turns out to the best medicine for peace of mind.

Don, is that a replacement carb, or are you rebuilding your old one? Good luck either way. My first chainsaw was a Stihl 031, and a couple years after I got it, the dealer told me parts were getting hard to come by. I ended up selling it to a fellow who's 031 had been stolen, no doubt he was hoping I was the thief.

Glad your neighbor worked himself out of the jam, Rick. Be a shame to get that nice clean tractor all dirty again so soon!

Got a start on the door locks yesterday, but first hooked the alarm into the little switches that turn on the dome light when the driver's or passenger doors open. And in order to do that, I had to find and install one of the dome lights. Now where did it go? In a labeled plastic bag, in a box with oh so many other labeled plastic bags...:confused2: There are also switches for the side sliding door and rear hatches, but they don't seem to be wired into the dome lights. And I'm not finding any other wires for lights in the ceiling openings, but then again, something could have happened to them during the roof swap. More detective work is needed. At this rate, Ted, three or four more years of this might be a little optimistic!

More wiring on the agenda for today, and also touch base with an instrument repair shop to make arrangements to have the speedo and tach reconditioned. Then get them boxed up to ship when I'm in town tomorrow.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

"Glad your neighbor worked himself out of the jam, Rick. Be a shame to get that nice clean tractor all dirty again so soon!"

That ship sailed .. after two solid days of pasture and roadside cutting RNG.

I did use my "radiator genie" to blow out the interiors of both tractors yesterday.

Good morning 70 going up to 91- sunny and feels like the dog days of August already.
Didn't get much free time yesterday but finally got the spacers on, 2" on either side. Don;t have a lathe so used a dremel square cutter and router head. Not fun but worked.

I have a version of that tractor, 1723 E, were the spacers just to stabilize it for loader work? I also mow with mine and probably couldn’t use the extra width, but I like it.

Good morning to all! Low of 51, going for a high of 88. There is a good chance of a t-storm this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. I sure hope we get one.

Drew, thank you for sending the card. Hopefully we will receive some good news. Not like Jay to be missing for so long....
Will the place up in Pa. hold the room for you or is there too much demand?

Thomas, have fun staining the deck.

Ron, do the bluebirds have chicks or eggs? Nice pic as usual, thanks

I got utilitys located again, last time I did not get around to put the posts in at the property corners, so the permit expired. I can now have the "allclear" again after 11 this morning. I am not sure if i will do them today or tomorrow.

I did finish all the paperwork sorting yesterday, so today I might be able to get to the RC stuff.

Everyone have a great day!

I have very hilly property and wanted a wider stance.

66°F and some patchy, heavy fog this morning, going up to 89° today.

New foster dog got ahold of one of my shoes a couple nights ago, and tore into it pretty good. She got into it again yesterday evening, and pretty much chewed the toe off. It's the shoes I wear to work around the farm, and I needed to replace them anyway. I'd bought them about five or six years ago as work shoes (midtop safety toes) at my previous day job, but found them too uncomfortable for everyday wear. So, I relegated them to home duty. They turned out to be possibly the best work shoes I've ever owned. Naturally, they are no longer available, so I need to do a little shoe shopping this weekend.

It seems the shutdown troubles have finally caught up with us at work. We've exhausted our backlog of work, and are struggling to get new contracts. Uncertain times, and many companies simply aren't buying. Walked in this morning to find exactly zero welders here (we normally employ about 50 in this facility), no paint line, and only two machine operators working. Everyone else has been laid off. Boss caught up with me and asked me to cut back to four days a week through July. Not ideal, but I get it. Tough to keep bleeding non-value-added salary when there's nothing coming in. Could be worse, I guess. At least I'm still getting a paycheck. Many are not.

Might give me some time to get reacquainted with my golf game.

Fantastic news, Drew. Keep doing whatever you're doing.

Mostly_, the pond has been full since shortly after the lazy guy excavated it last Fall. New guy is supposed to come out this morning and talk with The Wife about what's needed to finish the job. Still need some repairs to the areas where the other guy overdug, and installation of barrier cloth and rip-rap around the pond. There are a few other details as well, like regrading the front yard down by the road, using that dirt to finish the pond area, and use the remainder for a new shooting berm in the pasture. Naturally, much of that will require the pond to be drained again. We've also talked about installing an aeration system, and maybe a surface fountain, but we might do that ourselves.

Hope all is well with Jay.
