I think most warranties are written to give consumer a false sense of security while the fineprint and actual wording protects only the manufacturer.

78F and mostly cloudy with the occasional bit of sun @ 17:00. Came inside for a quick break.

Gauge wheels reset to 3.5" on MMM (only had to use the 8lb sledge on one of them ...)

East side yard around house mowed. Some more work with the brush cutter, jungle around the water buffalo cut down.

Nestboxes #2 and #4 checked, #2 has been occupied by another house wren pair who have laid some eggs. The bluebird eggs in nestbox #4 have ... hatched ...

Definitely time for a quick trip over to Eddies for some mealworms ... :D

Might be my imagination, but sure smells like a camel outside.

Thanks for the laugh buddy. Tell Coco we are rooting for her to get better. Seriously hope they find out something and can help her.

Ron, Billy is right IMO. Red tail hawk. We have them around here, but I try to shoo them away because of chickens.....now I have to shoot the squirrels stealing only ripe tomatoes from the garden.

Having a garden and chickens makes things different when it comes to bears, hawks, foxes and squirrels.

Cooked another gallon of tomato sauce.

My daughter, oven dried out about 20 plums she seeded, quartered and turned them into the sweetest prunes. I told her they might would make great oatmeal cookies. Holy cow are the oatmeal/prune cookies good. She's quite the cook. If only she'd pick up better after her messes....I guess she takes after me.

My son is motivated to make some money to buy a video game. I'm pushing him fairly hard. We sharpened the rider's blades, got out and mowed a few acres. We went and got haircuts, some tractor hydraulic oil, gasoline....then had to go back to town for watermelon and ice cream.

It's hot, humid, and hazy from dust outside. Have more tomatoes to pick. I was hoping the neighbor would want to cut our hay, but the trees make it too difficult. He likes low hanging fruit.

enjoying all the pictures guys.

Don, don't know any more info than the police report. It seems I've heard of the guy before, in the papers or somewhere. Not sure why he did what he did. Texas Rangers are on it. I'm sure they'll check for drugs. There is a city street that in one block, has 2 night clubs on it. I've read in the paper of 65 year old men getting busted with dope while driving around with much younger women around those 2 clubs. Read between the lines.

The Levolor vertical blinds that went belly up a few weeks ago had a "lifetime" warranty, too, Ted.

Except Levolor defines "lifetime" as the lifetime of the blind, not me. And you have to look very carefully at the warranty statement to figure that out. In the case of the vertical blinds, that "lifetime" is 10 years. My blind was 10 years, 3 months old. "Sorry, sir, your blind is no longer under warranty. But the good news is we can sell you a new headrail for just $300."

Uh, no thanks.

They will work on nearly any head rail, no need to pay Levelor prices. I dint like them and never sold them. I sold mostly Hunter Douglas including the remote controlled units.

Ah yes, Hunter Douglas. I priced a Hunter Douglas blind at a local shop. It seems HomeKit compatibility is only available in their top-of-the-line, to the tune of $3500 a pop.

I figger I can pull an awful lot of strings for 3500 bux...

Good evening all. 74F for the start, windy, overcast. Wind cranked up today and will be around for a few more days. Clouds thinned out some but dust is obscuring weather observations, high temp was 91F. Bike rid this morning, 53 miles done at 11. Was then able to get Volagi from shop, and get the fender, bike rack which needed updating for oversize screw, cleaned and lubed chain and put new GPS mount on it, then moved old mount to Peugeot. Need to make some test rides on Peugeot, and check adjustments
