62 right now...high about 80 and a pretty good chance of thunderstorms and rain...I can do without the thunderstorms, but I sure welcome the rain...

Pretty good day yesterday....only things I didn't get done was the haircut and pick up the .300BLK rifle. One of the (two) barbers didn't show up to work and I didn't want to wait around....the NICS system was really slow and, after about 30 minutes of waiting, came back with a delay of approval until 02 July.

Neighbor bought a Kioti tractor. I'm not real familiar with Kioti's, but I think it's a CK2610 with a cab. Nice looking machine! Didn't get any pics as I was actually mowing at the time. I got part of the lawn that was mostly green and cut about an inch higher. The rest was too brown, even though it could use a trim

Today...just putter around outside until it rains...

Oh yeah...
My Woodmaxx 8h chipper is a great implement...but it came with the biggest PITA PTO driveshaft (the optional US made one) I've ever used. This is one of those with a ring you have to retract to get it on the tractor's PTO shaft. Just a real pain to connect...
Rant off...

My dealer wont sell a gun if he does not get a approval because he had a delay and after so many days they can transfer the gun, He waited 7 days and sold it then the guy got in a gun fight with 2 cops It's been over two years with a law suit going on cost him big money......

70 and humid, going to 87. Can't say the sunset or sunrise looked any different. LS, your sunset pic was real nice.

Kyle, good your son is working hard and learning capitalism. My youngest son was the most motivated kid I ever saw because he always had a list of stuff he wanted to save up to buy.

Roy, I enjoyed watching the video you posted. Hard to believe they could land that plane on the Forrestal. I'd hate to have that job where you have to duck down as the plane lands on the deck. Sad they had to scrap that ship. Some have found good homes...like the Battleship Wisconsin, docked as a museum in downtown Norfolk, next to Nauticus.

60F calm clear sky upper 70's good chance rain showers late afternoon.

Plans for today...Might start replacing top railing on deck, check game cams, dirt contactor coming to look at job this afternoon, just putter.

Enjoy the day all.

Coffee is done brewing. 57° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 85° with lots of sun. Got some work done on barn door. Added a third hinge to each door. Since I am doing the repair myself. I can now open door and repair/remove lower hinge and repair wood part of door. Project is taking way longer than I planned. Weatherman calls for 80 to 90° temperatures for next 10 days. With little chance of rain. Gardens still need weeding.
Yesterday their were 2 Hawks on barn. Neighbor has chickens that they have been attaching. I am worried about Sassy. Squirrel walks down the cable feed every morning.

Drew, here the case numbers keep going up. Some days as many as 400. But death counts have dropped way down. Some days only 1. They no longer are allowed to send positive cases to nursing homes. Only negative test are allowed. Many of the cases do not require hospital stays. Just quarantine and some treatment.

RNG, lets us know what you get for windows.

Roy, a new tractor and no pictures. I know your neighbors. :ashamed: I went cheap on the PTO shaft on my chipper. Sometimes doing that works out. :dance1:

Buckeye, glad you got out with people. We are having a family get together next Friday. Everyone will be wearing mask. One of the attendees is flying in from DC and is an ER doctor.

Buppies, you are getting what I had last summer. 5 day requirement of cutting lawn.

Don, I buy my Rigid tools from Direct Tools. 1 year warranty at best. But prices are much better.

Mostly, do you have a different bike for every event?

LS, while others were buying Makita battery tools. I bought Panasonic. Batteries lasted. Tools not so well. They got donated. I have a 20 year old Bosch battery operated tool still works with original batteries.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

I was in Brownsville, TX. when they towed the Forestall in for scarping. A sad day.

Yeah, definitely a shame about scrapping that ship!
The Forrestal fire was in 1967...two years before I enlisted in the Navy. The nicknames, "Forrestfire" and "USS Zippo", were pretty commonly heard when I was in...mostly USS Zippo.
The wing only had about 15 feet clearance from the superstructure (normally call "The Island")...that's really close! All carriers landings have a pucker factor, but I'd guess landing a big bird like a C-130 had a pucker factor to the extreme

I was on the flight deck on my first cruise. Definitely not a nice place to be, especially during night operations. The tempo is extremely fast. My main "fear" were propellers....you can't see them spinning at night. You really want to know where you're at and where they are. Jet birds weren't as bad, IMHO.

another great picture Ron. Rodent on the move...

if a gun dealer abides by the law, having him subject to a lawsuit for use of the gun is outrageous, and typical
abuse of our legal system; plaintiff attorneys sue every name they can find in hopes of finding a deep pocket.
I never worried too much about this when I owned an electronics store, but even I got sued once when a vcr I sold
allegedly caught fire. Horse pucky, investigation showed a snake pit of extension wires was the cause.
Owner of course denied everything. When he came back in the next time,
I politely told him his business was not appreciated and he never should have allowed this to happen. He left looking mighty guilty, but then once you put
in a claim, it goes to subrogation dept of insurance company and those folks have zero sense of right and wrong.

If you get sued, that info goes into public records for at least seven years. Yes, they update for outcome, but in many minds, you are guilty until proven innocent.
I think credit companies had to be sued to prevent them from making lawsuits a derogative item, only judgements allowed, but that might change from state to state.
When I managed a public records company providing info into title insurance market, only judgment and bankruptcy data purchased. But credit companies bought it all, who knows who they resold to.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 4:45AM. Sunny. High 88F. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph.
We go under another Red Flag Warning at 2PM today, lasting through Monday, with low humidity and up to 25 MPH winds. Cooler weather for the coming week, if you can call mid 90s "cool".:confused2:

Sounds like you've turned the corner on the door repair, Ron, and can now relax a bit and take it as it comes. Hope everyone at the gathering leaves their germs at home.

Not sure what I'm going to do about the busted headrail yet, Randy. Might even try to cobble a fix for the one I've got. There are kits out there to add HomeKit control, but I'm not sure they're available for vertical blinds. More homework.
hat
It would seem as though growing more food for the black flies would only result in more black flies in the wife's vegetables, Eric, but I hope she's right. I'd be more inclined to go after them while they're still on the thistle, and take the two of 'em out together with an herbicide/pesticide cocktail of some sort. But then I also have a black thumb, and am much better at killing things than growing them.

We have to get through both NICS and the California Department of Justice background checks out here, for both firearms and ammunition. The firearms one takes 15 days, but for some odd reason they set the ammo one up to be instant. But there have been lots and lots of false denials on the new ammo one. Now there are rumblings that more firearms will be added to the "assault weapon" list that are banned outright. When that's happened in the past, the choices were to sell what you had out of state, or register it, after which, it couldn't be sold in state. The registration numbers were low, making a lot of otherwise law abiding citizens into criminals, but not enough of them to vote out the political nincompoops that came up with the laws to start with.:confused3:

Never smelled a camel, Billy, but it doesn't sound like it would be anything like roses... Nice pup pics. With all that energy, I hope they stay out of trouble.

Nice work on the bluebirds, RS, sneaky way of dealing with the sparrows.:laughing:

Maybe those clubs won't let 65 and older men in, Kyle?:confused2::laughing: Glad your son wants to work, but it seems like you won't get much out of him after he gets that video game...

Glad you've got the Volagi back, Bruce, and now have a Peugeot in the fleet. How do you make up your mind which one to ride? Decisions, decisions.

Early bird gets the worm, especially at garage and estate sales, Ted.

These days, Drew, it's a lot easier to sue for your money than to work for it. Shouldn't be that way, but it is...:confused3::irked:

Kind of bounced around doing odd jobs yesterday, mostly trying to stay inside in the A/C. Got some cleaning and reorganizing done in the office, and on the big table out in the garage. Then noticed that solar production from the panels dropped off a cliff around 3PM when the batteries hit a certain voltage level that didn't seem all that low. The system switched to grid power at that point, even though there were still kilo Watts of power available from the panels. Seems like there might be a tug-o-war going on between time based and demand based rules in the controller, so more homework is needed there, too.

Caught a YouTube video put out by an Aussie shop that works on the BMWs I like, and the fellow recommended a Loctite sealant I'd never heard about before. It's anaerobic, like silicon seal, but supposedly won't harden and block oil galleries like regular silicon based sealants will. Went over to the Loctite site to learn more about it, and there stumbled across another sealant that is said to bridge fairly large gaps, up to 0.050". That sounded like something that might help with the warped flange on the van's oil pan, so both sealants are now on order from Amazon.

Late in the day, the water leak alarm under the kitchen sink went off again. I mopped water up under there yesterday, too, but didn't put much effort into finding the leak. Got a flashlight out yesterday and tracked it down to one of the fittings on the UV water filter, a very slow drip... drip... drip... that with enough time added up to a big mess. Took it out to the garage to clean up, but the heavy mineral deposits weren't yielding to a hand held wire brush, and the Foredom is still out in the shipping container. It was uncomfortably warm in the garage anyway, so that's on the list for today. As is weed spraying, which somehow still hasn't happened yet...

Hope you all enjoy what's left of your weekend.!
