Good morning to all! Low down to 56, high today around 87, good chance of T-storms this afternoon.

Drew, countdown still ticking away.... glad you are getting things sorted out.

BEF, glad things are returning to somewhat normal.

RNG, sounds like you are ready to put those remotes to work! Good job sorting all the parts!

Don, glad your mom is coming home.

Some progress made on the hobby shack porch roof, did not get as far as I wanted, but kept getting pulled off to do other things.... I will get more done on it today. Wifey is not feeling well today, so a delayed start, ...Taking care of some domestic stuff first.

Hope everyone has a great start to the weekend!

67°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 89° today. Looks like we're in for one of those "chamber of commerce" weekends here, where you couldn't ask for better weather; sunny skies, temperatures in the 80s, and low humidity.

Speaking of commerce, heard this morning that the state of Missouri is opening up completely next week. Sure wish Illinois would follow suit, but our governor ... well, no point going into that here.

We're losing our foster dog today. By losing, I mean she's being put down. Sad. Her OCD is getting worse and worse, in spite of both The Wife's training efforts and medication. The rescue organization has deemed her unadoptable (besides the OCD, she's bitten both of us several times), and can't find anyone to taker her. Wife is an emotional mess over it, and feels like she's somehow failed her. I'm aggravated that they've dumped this on her to take care of for them. Pretty sure we'll be taking a break from fostering for awhile after this one. Not a happy ending.

Seems the light at the end of your tunnel isn't a train after all, Drew. I'm sure Monday can't come soon enough.

I love making pizza at home, too, David. It's always perfect, because ... well, you made it to be what you want.

My county tried a similar trash takeover move and were fought off with a good revolt.

Yeah ... there was a little dust up here from our local ”But Muh Free-Dummies” ... but common sense thankfully prevailed ... largely due to self-interest and and economic advantage.

Most of the trash haulers are small businesses, and the large companies can’t compete on price.

Ahhh ... yeah, no ... our small local hauler was, in fact, replaced (and eventually acquired) by one of those “large companies” (Republic) ... and our cost dropped by half ... with better service.

And no further sanitation “problems” with their local “yard” - which was eliminated as a consequence of the acquisition.

Multiple companies driving the same roads is a terrible argument, especially since the county does it with their school busses.

Our local school district handles transportation here ... not the county.

Are they going to create zones for all other private occupations? Is the county going to only allow one plumber, one electrician, one lawn care, one package delivery, etc.? They all drive large trucks all over the roads.

Sounds like a lot drama going on there BEF ... and the definition of large truck is very clearly different than the one I’m operating on ... particularly if you’re including plumbers, electricians, lawncare and package delivery services.

BTW - sorry for your recent loss.

very happy to report chemo through spinal column went ok, they went through L3-4 instead of L5. Wasn't fun but tolerable. Monday they give me an infusion through my port and then ship me to assisted living by ambulance and I finally leave the land of beeps, bangs and cackling aides...We'll just have to see how I feel, but confident that current procedures will reduce sickness. Now waiting for lunch to be turned back on, stomach grumbling.

they told me NPO, acronym for no food or drink after midnight. Yet when I got to chemo, because they were going through spine, they actually had wanted me to drink several large glasses of water first. You think they would get this right...next time, bottoms up.

Hope you all have a good day.

Drew,

Glad to hear things went reasonably well ... no fun I’m sure ...

Here’s to better days ahead ...

PJS.... you should smile and know you and your wife did good by taking care of that dog. No failings there trying to help.

A/C guy just left. Darn new fangled unit, has a hard reset on low air pressure. Changing filters would prevent that. Does not help that the front porch is under construction so that's my fault. Need to seal things up faster and just get it done.

Sigh....on to the grass!

Speaking of grass, neighbor was out on his 4020 with the mower cutting his field to bale it when I came up to the shop.

Stopped and talked him and told him if he wants it he could have our front “lawn” as well.

He said they’re supposed to be going out of town tomorrow but he’d try and get it done by Sunday.

Win-win - he gets the hay and I don’t have to screw around cutting and picking it up (except for down around the house)
