sounds like you're in the same boat, or rider as me. :) I have looked up replacement carbs and see similar results as you.

besides replacing all my fuel line, I vacuum tested the tank's fuel pickup tube and 90 degree adapter. It tested fine. I've replaced it a few years ago, so it's only about 3 years old. (They are known problems). I also loosen the fuel tank cap to let it breath, making sure of no vacuum.

79F and overcast @ 15:00, severe weather warning with possibility of tornados back over towards western OH and IN, but no rain here so far.

Chance of rain for tomorrow downgraded to 50% from 80% ...

Been out for several hours, remainder of grass has been incorporated into the compost pile. Pile is probably approaching being half turned at this point.

Have started adding to the burn pile now that what was there has been burnt off.

With warm, dry weather on the horizon, probably time to start thinking about sharpening the mower blades ... :D

68°F and .11 inches rain.

Continue on with yesterday’s effort. Some years ago I threw together a work bench from on hand scraps of 2x4 and plywood. Scraps in the since they were saved from a previous life and reused. Yesterday I cleaned it up and added a coat of paint, paint so old I still can’t remember it’s initial use but enough left for this. Looked good wet.

Told wife I’d do my version of shrimp scampi with egg noodles today.

Keep hoping to open GM and be treated with a nice long missive from Drew. Prayers for you.

Forgot to tell RNG nice video on BH removal. Wish I moved that fast.

I sure appreciate all the bird and wildlife pics you guys post.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

shrimp scampi sounds delicious. (Me too on Drew).

I had same problem with weeds growing under the new, thinner fabrics. Last year I switched from Costco landscape fabric to this pvc fabric

This works much better, but wind still blows it.

Thanks BEF, hope it works out for you. Maybe I'll consider it next year. I would need 2 rolls.

Thanks Lou,

Carburetor update. I took it off and it was fairly clean, no obvious cloggs, no smelly bad gas, no water...but what I did find on the single throat Mikuni's bowl is the dreaded 12v solenoid shut off. My land is flat. It's actuation was a bit sticky. It would sometimes not retract when 12v applied unless I flicked it. I disabled it(cut off the tip) and now it seems to run good, but I'm still noticing air bubbles coming into my fuel filter. I finished the yard.

BEF, thanks for fabric link. I’m looking also.

Got the deer fence up around the garden, so chilling on the porch. Overcast sky, 68° slight breeze. Light rain this morning, but garden dirt is dry.

Streaming Worship went well this morning, normally would be at evening worship now, but only having 1 a week for now.

A nap developed after lunch, wife made chicken corn chowder.

My sister finally declared Covid recovered. Their county now has over 50 cases, at least one nursing home got it, starting to get deaths from that already.
FIL not improving, still in hospital.

Need to order more groceries soon, been a couple weeks or more.

Tried my new pole saw...not too successfully, I'm afraid. Pinched the chain in my first cut and pulled it (the chain) off the bar. I did get the limb cut though and ran it through the chipper.

I'll use the pole saw again today... didn't think I was, I probably tried to push the saw into the cut rather then letting the saw do the work.
What I found was the chain was installed backwards...so, no cutting no matter how much pressure. Not sure how I managed to get through the one limb...
The saw came assembled, chain installed....I didn't look to see if it was correctly installed...my fault...and when re-installing the chain, I made the same mistake initially. Once correctly installed, the pole saw ran and cut fine. I dropped about half dozen branches and chipped them all...
Good day, altogether...
I'll be doing more de-limbing next weekend, weather permitting

I have a BH. But it has been sitting in barn for over 4 years.
Chipper does get used. Landscape rake is another one that has sat for years.

I have used the York rake 3-4 times in 5 years, but it is handy when you need it. I love playing with a backhoe, but honestly it doesn’t justify the price for me.

Got my trailer full of pavers, polymeric sand, 4x4, fabric and spikes, load of sand and Texas white stone coming Wednesday. This all started with Ellen wanting to make a planter from an old wagon wheel, and spiraled out of control. Seat time and knee time coming up. I’ll post before, during and after pictures.

I hope we hear good news from Drew.

I did my time on a 10 speed too, Schwinn Continental that I bought with grass cutting money.

Haven’t seen my mom in two months now, not sure how many she has left.
At least they have been virus free so far.

Everyone have a good night and stay safe. God bless.

My engine is a Kawasaki V twin with 2 coils. I was told it will run on 1 cylinder if one of the coils dies. When it starts dying, I can pull out the manual choke, and it will keep running a bit longer while it depletes the fuel in the bowl.

I'm going to go pull the carb off....

Mine is a Kohler 26hp twin. It does not die, basically starts loping .... wants to die, but then surges up like it was under load, then repeats. If I pull the choke ever so little, it will run, but slightly rough. The latest new thing it is doing is after the previous loping, if I continue to use it, after it is hot, there is no throttle control. If you pull it to idle, it just stays at high rpm. If you shut it down with the key, give it 20-30 seconds, it will restart and the throttle will work again. Weird since it is cable controlled.

Well Ted, a bit of progress. After today’s bit of cleanup, trip to transfer station, meal with wife, I figured I could give the canopy some attention.
Placed the Clubcar canopy on the tractor just to get better idea what I had to do to frame. Doable, but...

Only 4 bolts hold the canopy on my old Ezgo, so figured it wouldn’t be a major time waster to give it a try. Not perfect, but it would be a much easier fit.
So how much effort would it take to mount the Clubcar canopy on my Ezgo? Surprisingly not much.
IMG_1654.JPG

Lined it up, drilled 6 holes, 4 screws and 2bolts later - done. Might repaint it, but maybe not. Good chance I might try to upgrade next year.

Ezgo top is tied to tractor right now awaiting next step.

Good evening all. 64F this morning, 24 hour total 3.0 inch in rain gauge, light breeze and mostly sunny. Sky cleared in morning, wind became brisk, and high temp was 81F. Watched chapel this morning, conserved energy till bike ride, After lunch nap then stepdaughter and boyfriend visited and brought smoked brisket which was very good for dinner. Start picking up sticks in yard.
Covid update: Cooke 13 confirmed, 6 active, Montague 9 confirmed 7 active 1 death, Grayson 147 confirmed 74 active.
RNG Not doing the extra training I would normally do this time of year, with all the biking events canceled. Previous 2 years over 2200 miles this date.
Roy always a learning curve.
Bill glad you got the grass done, sorry about Big Brother.
Bird did not have quit as much rain as you but yard still squishy as I picked up sticks.
Billy sounds like productive day yesterday, nice your mom can still live alone.
Ron hope you get the pond maintenance done and enjoy the NASCAR
Thomas trouble with wireless game cam? Duck sitting on flat rock, far shore, near water, just left of center.
Phil hope seat time was fun. retirement soon yeah!
Rick hope you are not too rusty after 6 weeks off
Don hope you can keep garden up and get the tractor work done. Here the Golfers were not observing all the rules especially no visitors on common ground which includes golf course. After a nasty email threatening to shut down course no further issue. :confused2:
RNG nice progress on the array support, looks like most of view still good
Kyle have you cleaned the cooling fins on mower, and checked air flow over cylinders?
RS hope you don't get tornadoes and blades sharpened.
Buck good to hear about chilling on porch, sorry to hear about FIL.
Roy glad you found their mistake. Amazing how well chain cuts when sharp side used.
Randy good luck with project, sorry to hear about mom. hope you can visit her soon. :2cents:
Buckeye nice videos, I think I would have hit the deck :(
prayers for all especially Drew
stay safe and healthy.

Good morning, not a bad start to the day with the sun peaking through light cloud, if only the winds would calm down. Tried fishing again for a couple of hours in the evening. Caught plenty, though the wind had me spending much of my time unravelling knots.

L4N, I would feel uneasy at being tracked all the time too, although there are now so many license plate recognising cameras pointed at our roads, it is almost the same thing. Must admit I do like couriers that have GPS tracking installed in delivery vehicles so you can tell when a parcel is about to be delivered. 7 million litres should help keep your head clear for a while, enjoy your summer "vacation".

Good morning, the temp is 51°F and the high will be 61. Wind ENE 11 gusting to 19 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.
By Friday we will be up to 79. So the long range forecast says.

I got my hair cut and beard trimmed yesterday. The D-I-L did it. She took too much off the beard, but there is only two weeks between a good haircut and a bad one. By the time I get back in the fall my hair and beard should be down to my ****.

On my way down to Markham I will be shopping for a 25' trough type bale elevator, a roller/packer and a 6' rock bucket.

This Covid 19 lockdown has turned everybody except me into hermits. I am already a hermit.

Eric, that 7 million L is split between two of us, it all balances out to about 3.5 million each at 42,000 L/load. I have seen this crew unload 4 tanker loads in a day. I have also seen them take 4 days to unload one tanker. This product is very weather dependent.

Here is hoping Drew makes it through his 'troubles' sooner rather than later.

Have a safe day all

57 outside this AM, heading to 69. Rain, spotty, for the week is on order.

Got the grass cut, just need to weed whack the fence lines. Wiped out with the ZTR in the front, by a drainage ditch. Hit the spot at speed and right into the water I went. Walked to the house in shame to get the RTV for retrieval. After pulling it out, decided to take it back to the house for a wash down and inspection. That was lovely mud. Finished washing and returned to mowing. Pretty sad sequence of events.
Next day spent outside with wife, chainsaw, bottles of water and hand saws. Cut back the cedar line on the back horse pasture. Only fell out of RTV once (with hand saw) Hope to have gotten it high and wide enough for the tractor to get back there now.

Got the pool open, only one annoying leak at the pump filter. Probably new seal time. Nice and blue again this year. As opposed to pond water one year, that was messy.
Need mother nature to cooperate.

Looks like inside work the remainder of the week.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe. Prayers for you all. Prayers for Drew.
