I saw on the news last night that Abbot Labs has come up with a new test for CoVid-19 that gives results in only five minutes. The turn around for the current test is four days. If they can mass produce enough of them, doctors will know who to quarantine, and will be much more liberal with the testing so they can sequester disease vectors earlier and limit the spread. Could be a huge game changer. Too bad I sold my Abbott Labs stock when they split the company last year.:banghead:

My BIL hasn’t heard yet in 9 days.
My sister now has fever and probably has it.

I also refuse to use the FB app.

Good morning to all!

Yesterday was an interesting day..

We had wind, lots of wind, rain, snow, hail, and even felt an earthquake (centered about 80 miles from Boise ID). I was sitting at my desk on the computer when I thought the dog was pushing on my chair.. felt like the chair was being pushed around a bit... no dog in my office, thought my mind was playing tricks, then it happened again.. saw on the news feed about the earthquake.. Wife felt nauseated, thought the dog was pushing on the back of the easy chair she was in...

Stay safe, prayers for all.

This is an interesting web site that looks like it get daily updates. Lots of information but it predicts when the peak Covid 19 cases will occur state by state and indicates resource shortages.

Don .. good luck with your "cedarcide" ..

We now have our first cases of CV in Colorado County. I was told it was a lady from elsewhere visiting friends in CC.

Prayers to all.

MD looks good by that chart. Had our first death in the county, 90+ age. Wonder if they came from the nursing home that got hit hard. It didn’t say.

I wonder if I can grab small cedars with my grapple and pull them. That would be wickedcide!!

And that how it spreads, a person has it and still feels ok goes visiting.

Bird, I found myself standing on a chair in the bedroom at 02:15 this morning, and I wasn't all that happy about it. The smoke detector in the bedroom started chirping around 02:00. We tried to ignore it at first, but it eventually chirped about every 30 seconds. So, I grudgingly got up and changed the battery. I'd just changed that one with all the others. Guess it was a dud.

Glad you found the bad one, Paul. I think it's a conspiracy among batteries to drop below a certain voltage that triggers those low battery warnings only when the time of day is less than 4AM. They do it then because the environment is quiet enough to hear the beeps. Those batteries are smarter than they look! There are several devices here, in addition to the smoke alarms, that will beep when something is wrong. Some are so faint, or I'm so deaf in those frequencies, that it often takes me hours or even days of searching and disconnecting things before I find the culprit. Whoever came up with the beep idea for a warning system should be made to spend the rest of eternity listening to those beeps in the wee hours of the morning!:pullinghair:

my neurosurgeon visit this morning was long, thorough, and full of caveats. Guy was fairly young, clearly bright and accomplished and had no ego issues like many docs.
He confirmed that at least five of my lumbar discs are in seriously bad shape, that a lot of rotorooting was needed, couple days in the hospital and then a month in a back brace. But first he wanted a current EMG done as well as an epidural in the general area. Of course then he said due to coronovirus, they weren't scheduling either right now.
Great
This isn't going to get fixed any time soon.
At least he confirmed what needed to be done, which was the same as another hospital in Aventura FL did 20 years ago in the same area. Which was very successful I might add, walked out of the hospital the next morning and down the marina dock to my boat. Won't be that simple this time. At least he wasn't suggesting adding more rods and screws to my back. You only get a year or two of relief usually from a fusion, then the "apparatus" in your back can create new problems. He also suggested an implantable Tens like stimulator unit. My late wife had one implanted in her back at Cleveland Clinic, seemed to knock down pain about 25 percent.

Today they took my temp at the door, then handed me a nice soft mask to wear. Asked the standard questions. Every one of staff also wore a mask, as did Doctor.
I really believe if we had enough masks, they would be telling us all to wear them...
Floor to checkout had tape line six feet away from counter.
These folks were fully with the safety program and reassuring to see.

Good morning to all! Low went to 40, high going for 65, but wind is also forecasted.

Still no word on the daughters Covid 19 test.... she, and the rest of her family have not gotten any worse symptoms, so maybe all will be good. A matter of time and patience.... thanks for the prank thoughts.... they are working....

RNG, you just had to post that video of the gravel spread..... now I am getting those irresistible urges to get more gravel...:scratchchin::begging::hypnodisk:

Ron, nice bird pics... did they make a nest close to the feeder?

LFN, nice work on the exhaust. Why did you go with larger diameter pipe for the riser?

Going to try and get out into the shop today, at a nice pace, to attempt to do these couple little doors.... it just seems like something more important always jumps ahead in line....

Our bank card got hacked this past weekend, a big purchase at a Verizon store in Alabama, a smaller purchase in California. One had posted Monday and the other larger one was still pending last night. We had to go to the bank in person to dispute the charges and get a new card issued. The said they could not do anything about the pending transaction until it posted to the account.... ???... you would think they would want to stop that transaction before it went through.... bass-ackwards in my book! Guess what? It posted this morning, so another trip to the bank is in order this morning!

Odd thing is, this was the wifeys card, and she has not used it for any transactions for at least 3 weeks... I have used mine at least 3-4 times a week during that period. They have different numbers. Hopefully they will credit the amounts within a few days.

At first, the bank said we would have to call Verizon first and dispute the claim with them. So, after holding on the phone for them for quite a bid, they said they would open an investigation which could take up to 7 days ! BS ! You took my money without authorization, I want to know where and why! All they could tell me was my account was current, no purchase to the account, nothing due until end of April. Lot of good they were!

I am going to go get started.... everyone have a great day!
My bank card was hacked about a month ago, an $85 charge through Sam痴 Club online, after a $1 ping a few days before. The $1 got my attention because that痴 SOP with a lot of hackers. My bank told me the same, had to wait until the pending charge either posted or dropped off. The $1 dropped and the $85 went through, took about 4 days to get my money back.

Make sure to take your meds. My BP medication has worked great after a scare and three stents. Now back to some heavy work with no problems. Don;t put off the Afib testing, see what they can do for you.

Thanks. I have Afib, had a stent last summer, and valve replacement in December. So I hope a medication adjustment fixes it.
