But how are you supposed to hear the tractor groaning when you try to pull away with the parking brake on or the box blade down?

And don't you miss that ringing in your ears at the end of the day?:laughing:

Yes, but the ringing comes from AC/DC (“Dirty deeds and they’re done dirt cheap...”)

OK I lied - I listen to Taylor Swift!

A clear and sunny 17ºF morning low and a clear and sunny 34ºF presently. A beautiful late Winter sunny afternoon. At least the ice in my driveway is starting to break up thanks to the sun, temps, and chemicals.

Thanks for the +'s regarding Wifey and ice management. I see a 2 part, 2 systems, mixed precipitation event starting Tuesday night and extending into Thursday to add to the existing mix of frozen slop.

David- Thanks for sharing another of your many projects. I am sorry to read about your body's response to your exertions. :(

Billy- One of my favorite western movies. "High Noon" was another classic. Thanks for sharing the video. Awesome performance.

Eric- Nice water feature:(. My cellar workbench is very similar to your bench in design and construction. I might have used 50#'s of wood screws assembling it.

Thomas- It appears that you had some productive seat time with snow ice management. Thanks for sharing. I have similar plans for our driveway tomorrow or Monday.

RNG- Sorry to read that you missed the movie.

BEF- It's great to see you posting seat time pictures again.

Peter- Welcome to GM.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable Saturday.

Good morning all. A season low 18 degrees out, mighty cold for these parts. Glad I put covers on the small bushes.
Wingsprd's movie score was sure well recorded, sounded like they were right in front of you.
Easy to remember the sweat running down the gunmen's faces...

old friend, a retired GP doc from PA looked over my MRI's and simply said:
Wow your back is nightmare. I would consult a Neurosurgeon.

Guess I should be checking out powerchairs too, my plan B. Already have an appt at the CCC.
Anyone have any experience with "personal mobility devices"?
I may decide to have no surgery at all, since my entire back is shot, in which case I have to sit down for the most part.
Going to make the most of it.

clear weather for next couple of days, then more rain.
have a great weekend.

Drew, about 12 years ago I made neck and spine implants out of an expensive grade of PEEK plastic. I hope they can do something to help you out. You have my prayers.

BTW ... who doesn’t like Torch Red? 4 out 5 of mine .. have been red.

I like the Red too, but I like the wine colored one with chrome plated wheels.

I got a pair of active noise canceling headphones that work via Bluetooth about a month ago, and man oh man, what a difference driving the tractor! My Kubota BX 25 is actually quite noisy, but with these headphones on and some nice music playing, I can barely even hear the motor.

Makes working on the tractor much more pleasant, as these things are so much more effective than just regular ear protection.

I have the Sony ANC, and I love them. About $349. I use them to listen to audio books. What pair do you have?

You need to check out Dr. Dementos' version of Dirty Deeds, it is called Dirty Deeds Done with Sheep. Eric can probably relate.

Started day with a church men’s breakfast.
Then hooked up hydraulic connections to the 3rd function lines and tried out grapple. Bought tractor with 3rd function, and first time using it. Went down in the woods and cleaned up downed trees and branches, even pulled some grape vines.

Then got old freezer on a cart and got it moved out to the back basement door.
Swept garage floor.

Took a nap or two. Wife and son went to a movie.
Watching XFL

Our 10 year old 84" grapple ... has held up well too.

Good evening all. 37F for the start, partly cloudy sky, calm wind. Sky cleared then became partly cloudy again, wind became moderate, but not very gusty, and high temp was 58F, Bike ride this morning, start fire for wife but she decided to let it go out. This afternoon was nap and that was it.
Billy enjoyed the orchestra video, may have seen it before or one like it.
David, nice drone shots.
Eric, interesting range you have, I guess the water slow the bullets way down ;)
Buppies heal quickly
Ron found out a long time ago I need a list to get everything needed. Also cuts down on buying what I "might" need! :ashamed: nice pics (again)
Thomas enjoy seat time and visit to dealer.
Ted does your family know how you fell about gravel?
Rick, both wife and I like red cars, unfortunate for us so did the local police
James never have seen how much noise actually gets cancelled, so jut used the best ear plugs I could get from work.
RNG sounds like good progress again. You have to get trenches inspected? :confused2:
David, you could have electrolyte imbalance or dehydration causing those cramps.
RNG sorry to hear about your to do list.
David how far down do you tanks get during "dry" season?
Buckeye, looks like you got the handle on it
Ted have been enjoying garage videos, they come up on my youtube home page now :reading:
Pete welcome to GM thread :welcome:
Jay good to hear driveway is improving, how are your cooking skills coming along?
Buckeye sound like a very productive day with naps even!
Ric, neat grapple shots
prayers for all

Good morning. Still raining and has been doing all night long, although now the wind has stopped hurling it against window panes, it is falling mostly vertical with a "pitter patter" on the roof and only an occasional gentle tap against the glass. If we are lucky, the sun may even be making another short guest appearance by late afternoon.

Check, thanks for the info on the JBL noise cancelling headphones.

For many years I have kept a few earplugs in my jean's pocket. The other day I was in the workshop and about to poke one in my ear, then realised that I was wearing hearing aids :duh:. Streaming the radio into my hearing aids while wearing passive over-the-ear defenders was pretty good though.

BEF hope you are feeling better nice grapple

Prayers for all in need

Good morning, the temp is 25°F and going to 41. Wind SW 6 mph. Mostly sunny.

We had a small turkey for supper last night, and now the D-I-L wants to chuck the carcass into the bush. I told her that as much as I like black bears, I didn't want them less than 100' from the house. I will take it to the dump. I need to go to town anyway. We ran out of eggs.

I just checked on Puralators' (Canadian equivalent of UPS) website and it is going to cost me $56.62 to send my tax paperwork to the accountant, 75 miles South. I could drive it for about $20.oo worth of gas and 3 hours of my time. I think that is what I will do on Monday.

For today, other than the dump it is an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

I did start the Good/Bad/Ugly movie after dinner, but my plan to watch the whole thing fizzled out when I woke up on the couch at 1AM...

Well, since you worked so hard, I guess it is forgivable to fall asleep during this movie. :)

   / Good morning!!!! #107,180
24 going to 60 today. Can't believe it's colder here this morning than Roy's place or Lookin's.

I haven't tried any music headphones on the tractor or mower...always figured I'd have to turn the volume so high that I would be doing the very damage I was trying to avoid by wearing hearing protectors in the first place...but they sound like they work.

Cut a couple more dead trees down...and once again one of them, a wild cherry, was a creek hugger. I got a section of this cherry wet and a little sandy, so left it on the bank for now after lifting it out of the creek. It got wet because the top hung up on another tree as it fell over the creek, and to free it, the bottom had to go for a swim. Speaking of swims...

Eric, I think I know what you're doing at your shooting range...
