I like to listen to many kinds of music, including concerto and symphony music and even opera at times.

Imagine my delight in finding this today...the best song, from (IMO) the best movie of all time done by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra (opera at about 3:30). Can't believe it has had 42 Million views before I found it. Just in case you liked the movie, I thought I'd share this.

Down to 23° already, probably going into the teens, back to 50 tomorrow. Got stuff to do after it warms a bit in the pm. Have a good night.

A very good day. Cottage side of roof installed, ridge cap installed, flow diverter on edge by gutter.

Not a very good pic, need a drone view

Someone asked about the Versatube kit. I’d rate it a solid 9 of 10. I would have preferred another 2 or 3 rows of purlins per side. I’ll also likely add some diagonal bracing to sides. I would have preferred 4ft vs 5ft spacing between trusses.

Good Evening! It was 38° but dry this morning and eventually got to 53° this afternoon with sun shine most of the day.

I left the ranch at 4:30 a.m., headed to our Richmond house with recycle stuff ... then on to Patricia’s Galleria office to pick up her Highlander. I took it back out to Katy, to the Toyota Dealer for an oil change. On the way back I stopped and bought it a nice wash job, wax, and interior cleaning ... then dropped it back at her office. That got me maximum husband “atta boys” for the week.

After I picked up my F-350 at her office, I decided to take it to the same car wash and give it the “treatment” too. If that doesn’t bring rain .. I’m out of ideas?

On the way home I made a few stops for some hardware I need for several projects this weekend. I needed a 1”-8 x 7 1/2” Grade 5 bolt and locknut of same size and grade, for the installation of hydraulic angle cylinder on my LP 96” rear blade. Had to settle for an 8” bolt, after stopping at three TSC stores. I was able to order the locknut on Amazon for $6 and next day delivery.

I did find the two eyebolts I needed to finish assembly of the hydraulic press. They are the connectors for the retract springs, for the plate the 20 ton air / hydraulic jack sits on. This jack is a bit taller than the straight hydraulic jack, so the eye bolts need to be about an inch longer. Pics tomorrow.

WNG .. awesome music .. one of my all time favorite movies .. because of the music.

David .. great progress on your construction.

Drew .. easy goes it .. on your snow removal.

Randy .. ditto. Don’t over do it.

BEF .. hope you’re feeling better. You do need to protect your tractor from branches going thru the back of the grapple.

IMG_0231.jpg

Hawkeye .. good luck with your job wind down.

LS .. funny video. Hmmm .. pulling a tree down .. on top of you? How could that ever go wrong? WHAP! WHAP! WHAP!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Prayers to all.

Good evening all. 26F for the start, partly cloudy calm wind. Sky cleared off then clouded up near dark, Wind stayed light, and high temp was 47F. Slow start, groom ashes and rekindle the fire, putter for a while, install new furnace filter in attic, look for source of water stain on sheet rock, clean and lube chain on bike. Bike ride then walk dog. Stepdaughter home so no Scooter this weekend.
Kyle, we have been making and putting in several sizes at various depths. Last session made 50 some structures about 4 ft tall and 15 pieces of tubing and dropped them in. Probably have hundreds of small medium and large structures put in place.
Roy does not sound like fishing or biking weather :(
Eric days are not as much fun without the sun.
Ron too bad mr and mrs cardinal are not getting along.
Drew nice snow pics.
Randy looks like a Texas snow :)
Thomas sounds like kittens viewing a target rich environment. Squirrels go into hiding when Scooter comes over. When will Boo Boo likely come out of hibernation?
Hawkeye hope FIL gets through pneumonia, Mom never fully recovered from her bout with it.
RNG hope you can get trench done, sorry about eyes. Grew up with double railroad tracks behind house, leaned to sleep though almost anything even my snoring
Jay glad Peg is on mend, hope you get solar sorted out soon.
Ted, cool video
Hawkeye nice to have a project you are happy with.
Drew looks kike fun :D
Billy thanks for link.
Nice work David, have much left to finish?
Rick that should get you an attaboy, my problem is the aws*t wipes out all attaboys for weeks :(
prayers for all.

Good morning, at least we are out of the deep freeze for a while. 20°F and going to a high of 34. Wind WSW 11 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

I'm going to finalize my income taxes and get them off to the accountant, today.

An energy conservation day if I ever saw one.

Have a safe day all

Good morning all. A season low 18 degrees out, mighty cold for these parts. Glad I put covers on the small bushes.
Wingsprd's movie score was sure well recorded, sounded like they were right in front of you.
Easy to remember the sweat running down the gunmen's faces...

old friend, a retired GP doc from PA looked over my MRI's and simply said:
Wow your back is nightmare. I would consult a Neurosurgeon.

Guess I should be checking out powerchairs too, my plan B. Already have an appt at the CCC.
Anyone have any experience with "personal mobility devices"?
I may decide to have no surgery at all, since my entire back is shot, in which case I have to sit down for the most part.
Going to make the most of it.

clear weather for next couple of days, then more rain.
have a great weekend.

Good morning. These winds seem endless, this is the third weekend in a row to hear them pushing at the windows and roof all night long. On the positive side, rain did stop at breakfast time, then we saw the sun for almost 20 minutes !

The flat bottomed hollow that I use as a range has been flooded since December and I can't imagine it will be drying out for some months to come, so I made a rough "temporary" bench to let me relocate to higher ground. I hesitate to be posting a "furniture" pic after LS's fine woodwork - my only saving grace is that it needed a tractor to move it into position :)

Thanks for that video Wng, about as feel good as music, in all it forms, comes.

I especially like listening to classical music whenever I need to come up with an idea and create code to do something new. It allows ideas to pop out of nowhere and still filter through, whereas I find a quick blast of heavy rock steals all the mind's attention, but good for the testing phase, once everything else is in place.

What about listening to music while driving a tractor, do you enjoy it, or does it distract you into driving into a ditch ?

Drinking first cup of coffee. 21° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 44° with lots of sun. Fourth day in a row with sun all day. Trip to Rural King got Sassy a new toy and me a bag of popcorn. Found a lot of stuff I think I need. Next rip I will have a list. Out to shop to make blade fixture today.
Squirrels are slowly eating away at ornamental bird house. It has been up there for 20 years.

Wngsprd, thanks. You can post links to music and videos every day. Found out that my speaker system on PC did not have software activated. First listen on iPad pro. Then PC, no comparison.

Eric, I spent 5 weeks in Wolverhampton in the 70's. I never saw sun until I flew home to Detroit. Apparently nothing has changed in 50 years. :D

Drew, what I have picked up on power chairs. 1. Large wheels if you plan to do any outdoor use. To use in a building you need lots of room and training to make them work. I know several people that had them and gave up in house use. Went back to a wheelchair.

David, carport looks good. What's next project. :D

Hawkeye, glad you got a project to fill out your time until retirement.

Rick, I do not have a guard on front bumper of my tractor. But I do not have a grapple. Saw a shiny Rapid Blue 2020 Corvette yesterday. Not my color choice. But stood out at the traffic light. Good memories. My wife loved driving our 68 blue vette.

Jay, glad wife is getting better. Hope you get some of the warm weather from my area to melt some of the ice.

Buppies, best wishes.

Buckeye, hope your cold is gone. Nice grapple.

Good Morning All.
