Loosing your mother and wife in less than 5 years will affect your mental state for many years. It's a struggle that will affect you when you least expect it. Prayers go out to all that have or are facing loosing either one.

Good morning, the temp here is 1°F and going to a high of 12. Wind E 9 mph. Snow is in the forecast, starting this morning. Up to 10".

I took a look at the radar and unless the storm takes a wild turn to the north it will miss me totally. It won't miss Huntsville and Dwight, though. The tractor is plugged in any way and I will leave it plugged in all weekend if I have to.

Have a good day all

Yup. It will come right over us near Dorset. Yay! Snowblower time!

Good morning! 62˚F heading to 62˚F with clearing skies. wind from the west, front just came through heading toward Kyle and Rick. Just walked the Whip and now finally heading to the garden and later to HD to get spray Lithium Lube for the garage doors. I found this excellent You-tube on the proper way to lubricate garage doors.
How To Lubricate Your Noisy Garage Door - YouTube

The past few days the heater and A/C have run and a mildew smell would be present when the A/C came on. Yesterday the A/C man cleaned the evaporator coils and installed a UV light in the duct above the coils. So far it's good.

Randy and BEF prayers to you and your family.

Drew it just doesn't feel like I'm on a vicariously vacation without pics.

27° feels like 19° weatherbug says. Nothing from the predicted AM snow, more predicted this afternoon. Will see, not much on radar.

Randy, Prayers for your family and mom. It’s never easy.

Wngsprd hope wife mother is just bruised. Falls not good for elderly.

Not sure what to start on today. Wish I had an exercise bike.

Barn garage door would not go down yesterday. Sensors doesn’t indicate anything blocking it. Had to manually release and lower. Tried again same result. I had left GDO plugged in, hope nothing went bad already.

My wife and I both had reactions to the Shingrex shot a couple of months ago. We also got flu shots that day, so wasn't sure whether one or the other or both caused it...one day of feeling like the flu hit us...but I had a big heart-shaped reddish spot about 4 inches across around the small darker red spot where the shot "hole" was located (remained over a week). Within a day felt like I had developed arthritis in both knees, which still bothers me some days. Maybe all coincidental.

But after reading about shingles, I guess I'm still better off, and I haven't caught the flu. :)

I remember you mentioning that, WNG. I had the joint pain, too, but it seems to be gone today. And a horrible headache with a bit of nausea. The pharmacist warned about those symptoms, and said they aren't particular to Shingrex, but were typical for any vaccine.

Last month I went in to get a flu shot, and they offered the Shingrex at the same time. Based on your experience, I declined, instead coming back for the Shingrex when a reaction wouldn't impact other plans. You're right, the reaction wasn't pleasant, but the ibuprofen/pseudoefedrin concoction greatly eased the symptoms. I'm gonna wait at least 5 months for the second dose, and not make any plans for at least a few days afterward, though.

Flu wise, I'm hearing rumors that the flu shot this year again miss-targeted the strain that's most wide spread. But doesn't it make sense that this would happen every year? Seems like people wouldn't get the targeted strain, and a strain that wasn't effected by the flu shot would be the one to spread. Our medical geniuses are just gonna have to figger out a better mouse trap.

Good morning to all! Low of 19, going up to 45, sunny. The wind was horrendous yesterday, gusts to 60, continuous at 30-40.

When I went on the errands yesterday, it was sure difficult driving, not because of road conditions, but that wind. It was a constant cross wind and just fighting to keep the truck straight was a challenge. Today should just be breezy at 15-20.

Randy, sorry to hear about your mom, prayers sent.

Wngsprd, sorry to hear about your MIL, good that she was not more seriously injured. Prayers also.

Buppies, glad to hear you are still up and about. I m sure it has slowed you a bit.

Drew, up you are enjoying the trip, waiting patiently for pics.

RNG, glad you are feeling better! Maybe a better nap today....

For all you guys up in the N / NE, hope all goes ok with the storm moving in and you get some play time with the tractors.

Speaking of playing on the tractor, my son posted a quick video of me playing on the tractor prepping for the garage build. It is on his YouTube channel, he will post brief videos of the build progression over the next few weeks. Give him a “ thumbs up “ if you like it. Hopefully you do not laugh to hard!

Good Morning. It's 67° and foggy here with a 66° dew point. Our high should be 70° by about noon, when the "cold" front is expected.

I'm running about half speed this morning. We had our Trail Ride Group Winter Meeting (me and about 325 friends) and dinner last night, at the Omni, in West Houston, about 70 miles, one way, from the ranch. I didn't get home till after 9 p.m.

I've got a few shop projects to work on today and I need to figure out why the A/C didn't work on the New Holland yesterday. The compressor isn't starting?? It worked fine when I used it on a Wednesday.

Drew ... any Walmart ... has phone chargers?

Buppies ... glad you're feeling a bit better.

RNG ... good news your solar is finally moving forward.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Prayers to all.

Don, thanks for GD lube video. I usually just hit the rollers, never thought about hinges. My garage are the plastic rollers, barn had metal with bearings.

LS, nice job on the LS. Ground really dry there.

I got a squealing dryer needs fixed. Now making a metal on metal high pitched noise. I’m guessing idler pulley is bad. I never replaced one but have watched YouTube videos.
