Good morning!!!!

It looks like all this talk about instant pots, is just a redescription of an old fashioned pressure cooker. Am I wrong?

It has it’s own heat source.
Runs like an automatic instead of a standard. Lot of stuff just dump in and press a button, but if you need to sauté first, do it right in the pot. It shuts itself off, goes to warm mode, depressurizes itself.

Did she use yeast in the dough? Mine never seems to rise enough when I use whole wheat flour.

The type of wheat used to make the floor will have a major impact on the doughs, the soft wheats do better in bread and biscuits then the hard wheats.

Drank all my allotted coffee for the day. 22ー with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 30ー with mostly cloudy skies. Ended up with 3.1" of rain. Then about .5" of ice and white pellets. Some power outages in area. Lots of ice north of here. Fishing show was OK. But it was packed. Nice to spend time with son.
Going to get new top link put together with hoses and try it out today. Need to get something down on walkways so I do not slip.

Buppies, sorry to hear you fell. When I fell last year it took a long time to stop hurting. I did go to doctor to get it checked out.

Phil, good to hear you are getting better.

Rick, soup looks good. I have not got myself to do a soup yet. My wife had me on it for several months because that was all she could eat.

Drew, My BP has been very stable since I went on latest med's. Get sweats. Heartburn seems to be constant. Calling Dr. in morning.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!!!! 41F @ 5:45AM. Cloudy skies. High 53F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
Supposed to get a few showers overnight, but the real news is snow down to 1000 feet Wednesday night. If it comes, it'll be the first snow of the year here, and from the predictions, could make it rough on the mountains to the east as well. Bill, you can have this snow; who knows, it might make it all the way back east!:confused2:

Hope you didn't break any ribs, Buppies. I'll join the chorus thinking a doctor visit would be a good idea.

Also hope the docs can get you straightened out in time for your trip, Drew.

Randy, the deal with the Instant Pot is that you can not only cook under pressure, but saute, slow cook, and boil, and the timer and heat level control makes it easy to have the food come out just right. I made Kyle's red beans'n'rice recipe yesterday, and the IP made the beans easy and quick with the pressure cooker, then the rice in only four minutes. Mmmm, mmmm, good! And only one pot to clean!

New windscreen for the motorcycle came yesterday, and the battery tester Rick recommended, so maybe I'll fool around with those today. Wish the instructions for the battery tester were electronic; the print used on paper version is so small I have to use magnifiers to read it, and I don't have a CD drive that'll read the tiny CD that was in the package. Haven't seen one of those in years.:confused2:

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend.

Wife seems to have some flu symptoms so going to make her chicken soup and let her rest today.
Bird think I'll look into the book, doesn't matter where you ware the badge the stories are the same in one way or another we are all connected.
Have a good Sunday enjoy some football and relax

Good morning to all! Low of 18 this morning, up to 42 today. The next few days the temps will slowly rise to around 50. Then Thursday and Friday a dry cold front comes across. Just wind.... did I ever say how much I loved wind?

Drew, hope the doc gets to the bottom of whatever is going on. My thoughts and prayers sent for you.

Buppies, if your pain gets any worse, you should get checked. Do not just deal with it.... thoughts and prayers for you also.

With all this talk of the IP, I have tried to convince the wifey that we need one.... she cooks very old school, very good, so I cannot complain. I tell her it would be easier for her, but still no go.... same with an air fryer.... we still use the big oven...

I did not get to play in the shop yesterday, went and helped the son do some work on the garage. Got the ceiling lights hooked up so he stayed out there for a few hours after dark putting in more insulation. Same for today. I will get out into the shop to play while he is at work during the week.

He ordered 24 tons of gravel but they could not deliver it with a belly dump until next Saturday. He could get it sooner by paying an additional $100 for a two truck (tandem axle) delivery. He said nope.... $100 would buy some other supplies and he was in no hurry... I agreed.

Everyone have a great Sunday! Prayers sent for all needing.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

It was a foggy/rainy morning with temperature ranging around 57ºF - 58ºF; 58ºF and sunny presently; and I anticipate increasing sunshine and dropping temperatures later this afternoon. The warm temperatures and rain put a serious dent in the ice/snowpack . I can see patches of bare ground in the lower field.

Bill- Thanks for the laugh and like you I like those Winter warm spells for similar reasons. Last year the warm spell and following cold snap nailed the stink bug population.

Don- We have used our WW dough recipe for years. Wifey's recipe calls for 2&1/4 tsps (1 packet) of dry yeast and she lets it rise in under a moistened towel in a warm oven for 1 hour, punches down the dough, and then lets it rise for another 15 - 30 minutes. The shorter the second rise time the thinner the crust. The dough is processed with our Cuisinart®

Buppies- I am sorry to read about your fall. I hope that you did not crack any ribs. I hope the resultant aches & pains subside soon.

Phil- I am happy to read that your gout and reflux challenges are starting to resolve.

Drew- I hope your BP remains within normal ranges and your doctor visit tomorrow leads to + outcomes.

I hope that everyone is having a decent Sunday.

My + thoughts, wishes, ad prayers.

Bupps, Prayers your way. Falling is not fun, especially when you slip on steps and have zero control.

Drew, prayers for your BP, thyroid meds and overall situation.

Phil, glad the gout is residing.

Randy, ditto on football. Glad to see Pats, Ravens, out.

I'm torn on the KC/Texans game. I like both. I guess I'll just watch on the edge of my seat, and hope there are no bad controversial calls.

Had one of those nights where I woke up at 3am to P, and couldn't go back to sleep....

Time to get ready for church. Have a blessed day all.
