I am sure a pilot flame was hitting both posts previously. Perhaps this afternoon I will be able to poke a tiny wire in and see what is going on.

On our older Empire propane heater at camp we’ve had to clean the pilot burner more often lately. It seems like today’s propane has more residue after burning than “back in the day”. We’ve had the best luck with regular pipe cleaners soaked in some rubbing alcohol. You would not believe the soot that is removed and how much the flame shape improves. Good luck. Frank

When I had the last two knee surgeries, they were both under general anesthesia. Both times when I woke up, I said “that was the best sleep I’ve had in years!”. I still remember having to ‘go under’ as a kid.... fighting it all the way....
The next knee replacement surgery is supposed to be done with a nerve block and I’ll be awake.... I’m not sure if I will like that approach. To me it’s a more complicated surgery...why do they want me awake? I really don’t want to hear that bone saw going.... maybe high dose nitrous oxide?

It’s giving me chills... off to another subject....

You and Bird make some good points, Ted. I really dreaded my first procedure as an adult, but it was done with an intravenous drip, and I went out like a light. And like you, I really didn't want to wake up. But there was a bit of nausea, and on subsequent procedures I've made a point of letting the anesthesiologist know, and haven't had any issues since.

I know that I was given a drug that prevented me from remembering anything about my colonoscopy, maybe they can dope you up the same way when you get your knee done. Not much comfort during the procedure, but at least you won't remember the anxiety.

Turns out there are lots of ways to kill yourself on a tractor, and many of them are not very obvious. The idea of running up on a snow bank with a bucket load of snow sets a warning flag off in my head. I picture a front wheel on one side or the other slipping off the bank, or the bank collapsing underneath it, and with the FEL up in the air, the whole tractor going over. If you decide to try it anyway, go slow enough that you can maybe back up in time if it starts to tip. and ALWAYS, ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT AND MAKE SURE THE ROLL OVER PROTECTION BAR IS FIXED IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION.

I don't want to make this into a piszing contest but, you always keep the bucket low, even when climbing a pile of snow that you have previously packed down at least twice the width of the tractor.
You push the snow to the pile, then gradually raise the bucket while pushing ahead and the snow will go over the top of the pile, or you will lose traction.

Had my first surgery when around 6 yo. I still remember the mask to be put out. Been out many times since.

Shocked at the cost of glasses. New frames only $50 over insurance, but the lenses cost $160 for progressive, $80 for anti scratch, $60 for tinting, etc. final cost almost $500.
Now I got the stylish temporary sunglasses on. At least wife is driving.

Ate lunch and still hungry.

Wow. Miss a few days on here, and it takes a day-and-a-half to get caught up with just this thread. You guys are prolific.

Had a nice Thanksgiving at our place. Wife cooked way too much food, and only the youngest stepson showed up. We sent a bunch home with him, but still had a ton left. Life is good.

We started talking about our phones again, and adding up the increasing issues, and coupled with a can't-refuse offer from Verizon ($400 off each phone), we ordered a couple of iPhone 11s Thursday night. They arrived in yesterday's mail, so I met her at one of the Verizon stores after work to get them activated and everything transferred. Mine turned out to be a breeze, but hers had some trouble. It eventually worked itself out. Made a stop at the Tractor Supply in Belleville on the way home to pick up the chicken feed I didn't get Sunday.

The barn door sustained a little damage during the high winds last week, and wouldn't close all the way as it was bent at the top corner. Still not sure how that happened, but a few minutes Saturday with a ladder and a rubber mallet fixed it.

We put up the Xmas tree on Thursday, and the rest of the decorations Sunday. Only doing the one tree upstairs this year.

Decided to try the new phone camera this morning to see how it does in low light. The 6S was not so great, but this one is much better.

All this anesthesia talk and I’m getting my valve done a week from Friday! LOL
If it’s no worse than the cath or the stent, I had zero issues with anxiety. I think that’s part of the cocktail they gave me anyway.
This will be general anesthetic they use this time so I guess I won’t remember all the details like I did the last two times.

We don't usually have piles this high till February. That's as high as my bucket goes. Woke up to another 12-13 inches. That should put us very close to the 2 foot mark for this storm.
Broke my chute turn shaft, will try to get it welded and try to find a replacement.
Had to call the Town to come out and plow the street, my neighbor got stuck trying to get to work. I dug him out with the tractor. 4 wheel drive cars are still only 4 inches off the ground. Can't go over 12 inch snow!
All safe and warn now. Time for a break. been out helping people all day.

In the old days, this would have been our year to upgrade, but looks like we’ll hold off until next year.

We were going to wait, too, David. Unfortunately, the problems with the old 6S phones kept piling up. The Wife found a crack in her screen from a dog knocking it out of her hand, so rather than pay to repair that, we just went with the new phones. We'd had the 6Ss for five years, so we were definitely overdue to upgrade. Got our money's worth out of them, though.

I woke up this morning to a surprise 6.5" of new snow with total accumulation 18.5" Snow management has been the order of the day around here. Shoveling a cart path to the wood pile did me in.. I earned my medicinal strength martini today.

Ramman- I am happy to read that you weather the storm and had some decent seat time. Nice pile.

Don- Sorry to read about your new car. Wifey's brand new Forester got hit in a parking lot with similar $.

Ted- Thanks. I had a nerve block when my shattered ankle got some hardware (2 pins, 1 plate, 6 screws). I was awake throughout the procedure talking to the anesthesiologist. The used castellated screws and used a standard portable drill like one would find in a hardware store. They would not let me watch. .

Hawkeye- I am happy to read that your daughter is doing better.

Youngest daughter decided she was done messing with phone, it would shut off when 25-30% battery left, she tried a phone for a few days a month ago, then sent it back, she decided on the Samsung Note 10+ and seems to love it. Her vision is not as good as it was before her accident so she was looking to get a bigger phone anyway.. She got a bundle that included a 'free' Samsung A20, so she sold that to me and now I have a new phone to replace mine that was shutting off (her old phone and mine were same age). We could have ordered a battery kit and took a chance that a new battery would solve, but the software updates stopped a couple years ago.

She transferred to her new phone before the holiday, I transferred last night. I am being very careful as the screen protector and case do not arrive until Thursday. Seems like a good phone, will see how it works out.
