40 going to 50. Winds died down finally to a breeze.

We did our frequent hike to the river for a swim (not me, Coco) yesterday afternoon. Caught up with a Boy Scout troop and parents, one of whom was reading the Civil War historical markers aloud to the group. The boys were having a great time when I later passed them on the return hike. Then I talked with a Cub Scout den doing the same thing. Glad to see those parents participating and the kids so enthused. I warned them about the Yankees I had seen sneaking through the woods, and they had a great laugh.

41 going to 48, showers this evening, then a little milder tomorrow but still below normal.
Need to figure where I want the mower deck for the winter, somewhere out of the way but with room to drive off of it.
I’d like to get the driveway finished but I’ll see how cold I am first.
Have a good one, prayers.

Poured first cup of coffee. 32ー with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 44ー with partly cloudy skies. Yesterday was a mostly relaxing day. Only problem was wrong person won the title for NASCAR. :smiley_aafz: Changing oil in generator is still on the list. Need to take prescription from last week to order new glasses. So today will be a shopping day.

Randy, my aunt in rehab says that 13th will be a good day. She is scheduled to go home that day. Prayers for you and all those involved in your procedure.

Rick and wngsprd, great stories about young people.

Fameratheart, whats the dogs name.

Drew, my Captiva gets 31 mpg at those speeds. But it is much smaller than your Audi.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! With Temps in the low 70s yesterday afternoon the trailblazers got to the 1/2 mile mark where this live oak tree is located. The pic is a before pic. We started clearing out the cedars and this will be a mini park on the trail. The creek runs right behind it and there is a still pond on that part of the creek. It sits about 5' above the creek so it could go underwater occasionally. Here is another pic of us blazing through the cedars on the way to the Oak on the creek.IMG_3322.JPG

41˚F this morning, heading to the 70s. Now back to the gardens to finish the new raised beds.

Looks like we all need to plan something on Friday the 13th, it's going to be a good luck day.

what a cool tree Don. Looks like job security for you.
does the community have a grapple for the tractors?

Ron, I think it's all about using cruise control constantly. It's only a 2 liter four in there, but in top gear and low load, it's decently economical.
Not hybrid or electric economical but maybe the rung below. When it runs out of warranty in four years, I'm pretty sure there will be better electric alternatives.
I'm not a fan of Tesla interiors at all. Volvo's are about as spartan as I could take, but Audi does seriously nice interiors. I just won't own one out of warranty...
A lifetime friend of mine has the older model Q5 with the six cylinder, and the new four out accelerates the old six and gets better gas mileage.
But likely the six was smoother. DSG just bangs off the shifts in either version. Remarkable transmission but has serious issue when at stop, as in rolling back.
There is play in the system there some place and it can surprise you. My older Golf TDI did the same thing. I don't know if Porsche PDK version has same jerkiness issue at stop, seems you could design it out, but maybe the trans shifts so fast that's the price of admission.

spent hours yesterday sorting through old family pictures in ancient storage boxes, got a snoot full of dust. Found some of my cousin and her family and headed down to post office to get one of those mailer boxes. Then I'm going to bake muffins today for food pantry volunteers tomorrow. I already bought my ten pounds of carrots and two bags of sweet potatoes. I have two criteria, healthy food and low cost per pound. And since carrots and sweet potatoes are pretty durable, they usually get sold before pull date at the supermarket, so the food pantry doesn't get much of those vegetables. I'm happy to do this every couple of weeks.

Monday morning. Hope it's a nice one for you.

Good morning. It’s 48° and should get to 74° this afternoon. Forecast says low 80’s by mid-week.

I’ve been cutting down cedar trees, along a fence line, in one of our pastures. I couldn’t get between the cedars and fence to spray that part of the fence line.

More of the same today.

Don ... that’s a great tree.

Ron ... Cranes thought it was too warm down here. . I lost interest in NASCAR when JJ missed the playoffs for first time in a long time.

Hope everyone has an excellent start to your week.

Prayers to all.
