Not much accomplished today. Did install a short piece of conduit to get cables to my porch ceiling. Had to remove 1 porch ceiling panel. Left it off to pull Ethernet cables hopefully soon. I need to get into a small crawl space to get to it, not looking forward to that. Going to pull 3 cables.

HS football won 1st playoff game.

27° now, going to low 20s

19 this morning. We had snow spitting in the air all day yesterday Have some outside work today if it warms up. Neighbor didn't pick up any of their leaves so they are all blowing into my yard. Will run the mower to grab as many as possible then the mower is going into winter hibernation mode.
Still need to mount the snow blower at the apartment house. Should have done it last week when it was 60 out. It was still in use picking up the leaves there. Stay safe and warm all!

27 out, but warming up on a sunny but cool day.
Other than pumping some antifreeze through powerwashers, which I took inside yesterday, not much planned for today.
Need to run downtown early and pick up some mousetraps, found a dead one behind refrigerator, yuk, time to set out traps
Hope you all have a nice weekend

Nice battery bank Sodamo. What voltage is each battery?

21 freezing degrees this morning, 48 later.
Planned to go to church bazaar to make Ellen happy, then she informs me we have a wedding reception at 4 for people that I don’t know and got married in the summer.
Note that LSU/Alabama kick off is 3:30. A game I’ve been waiting all fall for. This party better be darned good!

BEF, I’m glad you are doing so well.

All you guys have great day, prayers.

Poured first cup of coffee. 27° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 41° with sun and clouds. Got bubbles stretched out of master bedroom carpet. Lot more to it than I thought it would be. All furniture is back in place. Need to put nicker nackers back in cabinets and shelves. I did take pictures. Today my 91 year old aunt is coming over to depend a week with me. I thought I would call it Aunt Sitting. But she is very active. Maybe more like Nephew Sitting. Was going to change oil and get plows and snow blower on tractor and mower. But we are going to a swim meet to watch my cousin compete at EMU in Ypsilanti.

I want to thank all Veterans for their Service.
My Great Granddaughter was in an event at her school yesterday. Her dads dad is in picture. Picture she is holding is my oldest son. He was on a cruise ship in the caribbean.

20 right now...high today in the mid-30's.
Chores: dump run...maybe a haircut...get some Power Service white bottle and some fender washers for the blade (the washers are used on the rubber wear bar on the blade....a couple pulled through the mounting slots). That's about it...

Good morning.

22 and going to a high of 32°F. Wind SE 7 mph. Snow in the forecast and it is snowing now. The weather guessers are getting it right so far this winter.

I have a town run this morning and then veg (conserve energy) for the rest of the day.

Have a good day all

22° this morning. Has now climbed to 23°

Gonna meet the breakfast gang at a southern PA diner. About 45 min away, wife is driving.

My mom had a whole cabinets of nic nacs that still sits as they were when she was alive.

I have a few nic nacs myself, mostly little things I picked up traveling.

Been laying in bed thinking all morning how I’m gonna get in the crawl space to push cables in the conduit to the porch. Maybe better to push from the porch end and pull from the inside. Either way I gotta get in a tight awkward spot. Right where rafters hit the floor. And I have to adjust insulation to get to the conduit end.

Gotta get moving.

it appears I'm not the only person who has mice problems, with the cold weather driving them indoors.
Lowes was completely out of traditional mouse traps. Had to buy bait stations which I don't like, they go off and die someplace
and smell until you find them, if you do.

am waiting for it to warm up, had heavy coat on this morning.

Drew, I use these in my shop and in feed room at the horsebarn.

Set and forget. The yellow paddles evidently smell like cheese? They sell them at Walmart, Home Depot, Amazon, etc. about $6 for a 4 pack.

I've used these...not sure they attract as well as the regular ones, so supplement their smell by spreading a little peanut butter into the holes.

Good Saturday morning! It's 41° and sunny this morning. Forecast says 67° this afternoon.

It stayed in the 40's here yesterday ... overcast and misting rain most of the day so ... I spent most of the day in the shop.

On October 11th there were 155 out of 254 Texas counties under burn bans. With recent rain that number has dropped to 98 counties.

I'm going to load the ZT, on its trailer, this morning to go down and mow along roads near our VFD / Community Center. Tonight is our annual Chili Cookoff Fund Raiser and we're expecting a big crowd with the onset of cool weather. I would normally do this with the 55HP tractor and 84" RFM but ... by the time I hookup the RFM and drive the tractor 4 miles and back, I can get it done with the 72" ZT. Although ... the cab on tractor would be nice too.

Drew ... more mice show up "inside" as weather cools "outside".

David ... nice work on your battery rack.

We have both Alabama and LSU friends so not cheering for either side. Just hope the game lives up to the hype. 2:30 p.m. central on CBS.

Happy 244th Anniversary to all Marines tomorrow!

Everyone have a great weekend.

Prayers to all.

Was 25 earlier while out feeding birds and enjoying the cold air. Heavy frost melting now by the sun.

Ron, very nice your GGD's school has a Veterans event, and that she had such good participation. Enjoy your time with your aunt.

David, what a great job you always do...great looking battery bank.

All the photos of great food had me motivated yesterday...but I cheated...took my wife to our favorite Tex-Mex place...started to take a photo of the chile relleno and post but decided that would really be cheating. I did get a good gym workout done before lunch, so didn't have to feel as guilty eating so much.

Then went over to Lowe's where I have a gift card, to look at new loppers and DeWalt batteries. Didn't buy either. Loppers weren't heavy duty enough. As for the battery, I decided I need to do more research. I've been using have a nice set of 18V rechargeable tools I bought maybe 8 or 10 years ago. Had to buy a set of replacement batteries 5 years ago, and one of those is dead...so trying to decide the next step now that I have only 1 battery.

Their new standard seems to be 20V, and the tools are lighter weight. But, I can get an adapter that fits my tools and allows the use of 20V batteries (those of the lower amp hour levels). I may go this route rather than buying more 18V batteries or replacing my tools...which if I did, I might look at the newer 60V/20V series. I've been very satisfied with this set of 18V tools, and have kept them in good shape.

Sharpened up my chainsaw yesterday, so guess I'll be taking that over to the dead maple and dogwood trees today. Then cleaning up and planting the deodar.

Hope Eric has perfected his nappy skills.

Good Saturday morning! Woke up early, it was all of 20 outside.....I am really not ready for those temps yet....supposed to get to 42 today. Maybe a good day to split more wood that has been waiting for a year for quality time with the splitter.

Not sure what else I will get into this weekend. Maybe work on the trailer conversion. My little propane heater gets it quite toasty in there quickly.

Or work on some long delayed bike projects.

Or conserve energy.

Everyone have a safe and good weekend

Good Morning Everyone!!!

A hazy sunny 10ºF for this morning’s low temperature; a hazy sunny 23ºF presently; and I anticipate a hazy sunny afternoon high in the mid 30ºF’s. Today is my first long underwear day of the season. It snowed off and on all day yesterday. I got more Lake effect snow yesterday than I received with the last weather system. I did not dig up the rosemary shrubs for transport inside due the snow + the wind opting instead to feed the wood stove all day. It will be warmer today and if the rosemary shrubs are still alive I’ll dig them up later today after the dump run. The Tundra repairs cost ~$2K and it still needs an alignment and new tires. Wifey suggested that it is now time to do some truck shopping..

David- Congratulations on a job well done. Your battery bank looks to have been professionally installed with manufactured racks instead of self made.

Drew- Thanks for the reminder to set up my mouse trap lines around here. I have seen no mouse calling cards in the house excepting the cellar so far. I alternate between peanut butter and old cheese to keep the mice interested.;)

Randy- I am sorry to read about your change in plans. I too hope you find the party worth it. Today would be a good day for having a pocket sized radio with at least one earphone.

RonJH- I am happy to read about getting the rug laid and good luck with your Aunt. Thanks for sharing the family picture. Veterans’ Day is much more than a day off from work.

BEF- I hope that you and your Wife have an enjoyable breakfast with friends. Good luck contorting yourself within the crawlspace. I hope your body forgives you later.

I hope that everyone has a decent Saturday.

My + thoughts and prayers.

If it wasn't for the veterens of two world wars, then you Americans would probably be speaking Japaneese and us up here speaking German. I know for a fact that if the British Commenwealth had lost the war, I wouldn't be here [born in 1946].

I just took a quick peak at the weather: Snow squawl warning in effect. 15 cm/6" can be expected.

69°F and no rain

Slept in 20 min this morning

No big plans for day. Trip to PO, then the east side of piddling about.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
