Up late playing with routers, but not the motorized kind. Bought a new. More powerful router that allows USB modem as WAN.

It sort of works, but seems slow. Not sure if slowness is it or the Mobley internet. It would not get good signal in FR.

Around 11pm decided to put the old $40 router back. It works better, seems to have better signal than new $200+ router. Just not the processor and memory.

Want to eliminate multiple house networks, so Switched my basement router to Access. point instead. Got everything back working so I can use internet again.

Might give it another shot today.

Was having weird dream about work stuff.

Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. High near 85F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.

They didn't spoil my beer(s) at all, Eric. In fact, they made the evening quite enjoyable. But the other tip I gave the Englishmen was to pick a h/motel within walking distance of the pub/bar/restaurant. They drove, and one was stuck drinking a single Coors Lite, not really a beer at all.

Glad you didn't do worse at the hands of the rager, Drew. Some people turn into Mr. Hyde when they get behind the wheel, and funnel all their problems into their driving behavior. Don't hesitate to dial 911 if it gets out of hand.

Hope all the aches and pains out there pass quickly. It doesn't seem fair to be rewarded for all that work by complaining muscles, does it?

Sounds like you're making good progress, Randy. One step at a time.

Seems like the low pressure return line is leaking on the backhoe, and now there's not enough hydraulic oil in the tank to work the darn thing. That, and something in the gear case that holds the axle I replaced is knocking, so my re-assembly may not have been up to snuff. It's always something, especially when I just need to get something done. The container is supposed to be delivered a week from today, and I have plans to be traveling Friday-Sunday. Today's plan is to pick up another five gallons of hydraulic oil, along with enough concrete to pour 2'z2' pads for each corner of the shipping container. Between the rocks and the slope of where it's going to go, there's no way I'll be able to get the entire 40' length level. But if I can get the hoe working again, I'll be able to dig out enough in between the pads, and the holes for the pads, then use the laser level to set the forms level with each other. Then let the gravel under the concrete do the leveling for me.:confused3:

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start!

Poured second cup of coffee. 46° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 64° with rain and wind in afternoon. Never got lawn mowed yesterday. Party with Sassy went well. She was on her best behavior and was the hit with everyone. Not much on the list today. Another rest day.

Drew, safe travels.

RNG, glad your weekend trip turned out OK. Even though it was shorter than planned.

Buckeye, my tri-band Netgear router has worked great for me. But I have a one story house.

Randy, glad you are feeling better. Prayers for Ellen's Dad's surgery today.

Thomas, very few leaves have fallen here. I had better get going though and get garden pond covered before the do start.

Good Morning All.

I am back after a busy weekend of family birthdays and a visit by our son. He brought along the first girlfriend we have seen for a couple of years. She is a really nice girl, even Max approved.

Phi & Thomas, have you thought of trying one of those new French leaf blowers ? French Inventor Flies Across English Channel on Hoverboard - YouTube

WOW! I want one, but I'll bet they'll be on backorder because of all the migrants in France wanting to sneak over to UK.

58 degrees this morning, going for 72. Wife's sister arrived yesterday from West Virginia for a 10 day visit. One of her daughters has to take her to Charlotte, NC to fly to Dallas via American Airlines. At the last minute her flight was delayed for several hours for reasons unknown so they put her on another flight, so she got to Dallas only a bit more than 2 hours past the expected time. I really dislike going to the DFW Airport for anything, but of course we did.

I've been watching the TV news this morning and it appears that north Dallas had quite a tornado last night; 100k without power, a Home Depot wiped out, homes and churches severely damaged, etc. but so far some injuries but no reports of any deaths, fortunately. And here at our house, we got about .6" of rain for which we're grateful, but not enough wind to do any damage. We did have the most spectacular lightning show around 11:30 p.m. that I've seen in awhile.

And I just got a big pot roast with potatoes, carrots, bell pepper, onion soup mix, salt & pepper going in the crockpot.

Good morning. It was 79° at 4:45 a.m. before the cool front passed. It's now 67° and forecast say it might get back up to 78° this afternoon. It rained hard for almost an hour but, I've not checked our rain gauges yet. Anything we got is welcome.

Spent last couple of days cleaning up one 18 acre pasture and it was very dusty. I used both tractors so, they were filthy. I blew most of the dust off, with the backpack blower, and left them out in the open for a free wash job. I should probably check the air filters as well.

I made a big pot of red bean & rice with lots of jalapeño sausage for dinner last night. Mmm mmm good!

Drew ... glad your shakedown is going well. Road ragers ... are everywhere .... "Red Flag" laws should apply to these idiots ... and fast.

Mr. Bird .... glad you stayed clear of the tornados in your area. I was just thinking that some slow cooker beef stew or pot roast might be good this week.

Eric .... French leaf blowers. What will they think of next. I'll bet you could herd your flock with one of those?

BEF ... hope you get your internet issues resolved.

Hoping everyone has a great start to their week

Prayers to all.

Update:

1/2” of rain in both rain gauges. This won’t end our burn bans but, we’re glad to get it. Maybe it settled the dust ... for a bit.

Both tractors are much cleaner than yesterday.

I guess I should have left the Kubota out too?

Good morning to all! Low was a chilly 28 degrees this morning, going up to 62 and windy again... 20-25 mph, gusts to 45-50.

Some heavy damage on the news this morning in N. Dallas. Thankfully no major loss of life. Could have been much worse if it happened during the day.

I was able to accomplish everything that I wanted to get done yesterday. The doors were hung w/o much difficulty, it was much easier than I was anticipating. Being painted and side by side to a stained 'barn door', I was very apprehensive if it would look ok. Wifey gave her approval, so that's all that matters. .....but..... I think if I hung up a sheet of plywood, she would still say it was ok and better than looking at all the stuff on the shelves in that pantry closet. I definitely agree with that.

I have been gathering all of the cardboard boxes and plastics that we used for packing and new things for the house arrived in. They were in a trailer, ready to go to recycling center this week. The wind yesterday decided all the styrofoam and cardboard would look nicer plastered up against about 100' of fencing....... Can you guess what I'll be doing today?

Drew, have a safe drive back home, watch out for those crazies!

RNG, sounds like you had an enjoyable ride. Great time of year for some riding. After having numerous "close calls" with inattentive drivers, I finally decided to give up riding and sold my Goldwing a few years ago. I do miss riding.

Everyone have a great start to the week. Prayers sent out.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

A clear and sunny 34ºF for today’s low temp with mist burning off in the lower field; a clear an sunny 50ºF presently; and I anticipate a clear and sunny afternoon with temps reaching ~60ºF. A great day to clean my woodstove’s SS chimney. Last week it was flocks of oven birds migrating through and yesterday it was white-throated sparrows. I think that I’ll delay rotary cutting the perimeter understory growth to give some food and cover for the migrating birds.
I do not know why, but my Cubital Tunnel Syndrome was acting up yesterday

David- Good luck moving the generator.

“… I'm am not sure what I will be doing today, but I will give it my ‘all’.”- Bill- I hope that you have many more pain free days.

“… I have muscles I didn’t know I have screaming at me!”- Phil. It’s never pleasant to discover new complaining muscle groups.

“… At her age, 93, I'm just happy she's still baking and enjoying it.”- Drew I am always happy to hear/read about people in their +90”s still active and enjoying life.. I am surprised that no one “911’d” an aggressive jerk driver alert to the State Police. I am happy you were able to disengage safely. I wish you safe travels on your road trip.

“… Walked about a mile yesterday and I’m not too sore today. Guess I’m improving.”- Randy I hope that you continue to report + progress. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for your FIL…. you too.;)

BEF- Good luck getting your router challenges fixed.

RonJH- I am happy that you and Sassy had a great time at the Dog Salon party.

“… was to pick a h/motel within walking distance of the pub/bar/restaurant.”- RNG SOP with us when traveling. ;) I am happy that your road trip went well and you met some interesting fellow travelers.

“…. I made a big pot of red bean & rice with lots of jalapeño sausage for dinner last night. Mmm mmm good!”- Rick “… And I just got a big pot roast with potatoes, carrots, bell pepper, onion soup mix, salt & pepper going in the crockpot.”- Bird Reads to be really “Fall/Winter-Time” great eats. Last night I used one of my Mom’s old brisket recipes with the smoked brisket that I purchased from that nearby butcher/smoke house and it turned out really well. Tonight it’s reheated black bean soup that I made a couple of days ago.

“….I was just thinking that some slow cooker beef stew or pot roast might be good this week.”- Rick Reads like a really decent plan to me. We never use our slow cooker. I make beef stew in our pressure cooker. Thanks for sharing your tractor and mower pictures. It’s hard to believe that even with reports of 2” of rain reported in parts of TX that TX still has significant areas of severe and extreme drought. We are in an “abnormally dry” area.

I hope that everyone continues to mend, stay healthy and active and is having a decent start to the work week.

My + thoughts and prayers.
