Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 5:00AM. Partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. High 77F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Looks like a front will pass through tonight dropping a little bit of rain, but it's supposed to clear up in the morning. :thumbsup:

Does your RV fridge also run on 12V DC, Drew? That would solve your issue with using propane while traveling. Personally, I wouldn't roll with an open propane tank valve.

Have a couple little jobs on the red bike to take care of this morning, then need to dust off the backpacker stove for this trip. No restaurants near by the camp, so it's backpacker freeze dried for dinner and breakfast. I bought a bunch of packets last year when the evacuation orders were lifted, and it's time I got some use out of 'em.:laughing:

Might be a wet start to the trip if that front slows down.

Good morning. It's 74° but ... temperature is falling with the cool front. It should start some much needed rain very soon.

I mowed along all our roads yesterday afternoon while listening to the Astros / Yankees game on the tractor radio. Looks like rain, in NYC today, might postpone today's game.

I guess I'll be working in the shop today ... watching it rain.

I see in the news this morning, our electric utility is crowing about how they found fifty instances of hazards along the 25,000 miles of electric lines they inspected before they turned the power back on last week. Good for them, but perhaps if they'd been maintaining adequate tree and brush clearance along the right of ways like they're required to do by law, they wouldn't have had to shut the power off in the first place. Now it sounds like they're patting themselves on the back for creating a problem that they don't seem to be dealing with very well.:2cents:

Good morning! No severe weather or rain as the front passed through. 63˚F and still dropping. High of 75˚F today, cloudy and NNE wind.

Good news, the appliance repairman confirmed my thought of a replacing the ice maker first in the fridge (if I go that route) after he replaced the motor and pump of the 5 month old, under warranty dishwasher. He said he replaces a lot of leaking pumps on under warranty dishwashers and always has some on his truck. They just don't make appliances good any more.

Good morning to all!
Nice cool fall weather going on here, highs in the upper 60's to low 70's. No rain at all for the last month. We had 2 mornings of hard frost, some of the tree leaves just became crunchy without turning colors.

I slept in this morning until 6:00....kept tossing and turning all night. Knee, back, neck...they were all complaining. I keep trying to just take it slow and easy, but the very long 'to do' list for the new 'cottage', doesn't seem to get any shorter. Finishing one item on the punch list seems to generate two more... I guess everything will get done eventually. We are getting settled in for sure, my son and DIL are doing the same, finally able to unpack/ unbox their things in the 'big house'.

Too many things going on here to remember everything. I hope all is well for everyone. I tell myself to come on here and stay on top of the on-goings, but as of late, that just doesn't seem to happen.....

41°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 57° today.

Wife was complaining about being hot last night (I always tell her I like that about her ), so she cracked one of the bedroom windows open (and set off the ADT system). Apparently, she left it open all night, because it was quite chilly when the alarm went off at 5am.

We talked last night about how the landscaper hadn't drained the water from the back side of the pond which partially filled from the rain over the weekend, and he would probably end up getting his equipment stuck again. Well, she sent me a text this morning, which included a picture of his Takeuchi skid steer stuck nose down and @$$ up in the mud. I guess he thought he could just keep pushing the dirt in and it would soak up the water or something. This guy doesn't seem as bright as I once thought.

Columbus Day is a US federal holiday. Is a floating holiday for my company. I usually take it the day after thanksgiving. Being on disability I don’t get holidays. I’m still LWOP.

I was still awake at 330 am. Will sleep later probably.

Checking In:

It was a clear and sunny 28ºF for today’s low. The upper level clouds have been increasing all morning and now the midlevel cloud deck is filling in ahead of today’s-tomorrow’s coastal storm. Temperature is currently 54ºF and probably will be today’s high temperature. This storm will “bomb” off the coast and track NNE with maybe some mixed precipitation in the highest elevations of NE. I fired up the wood stove early this AM and Wifey wants to see it burning today. My PCP/NP appointment went as I had expected = I am good to go. . I vacuumed out the radiators on the NH and topped off the antifreeze. It took ~ 1Qt; I think that I better monitor my radiator cap. I still need to clean all the accumulated debris off the tractor and rotary cutter before it starts raining.

“My Tundra is in the shop unexpectedly.”- David. This does not read well. Every time my Tundra “surprised” me it generally cost ~ $2K from the dealership = I am married to a nearby independent mechanic and his brother mechanic who both own Tundras. They cost far less and they are honest.

Bruce- It was decent and therapeutic seat time yesterday… Only a couple of pucker moments, and no skids in the undies.

Billy- We live in a north facing ravine that limits our solar exposure. The panels point SSW to maximize our potential solar gain. We probably would not have needed as many panels to achieve 150% of our average consumption if we had a better site location. Once the deciduous trees lose their leaves gain will improve slightly. I do not think that we’ll be paying any electric bills this year the way things are going.

Randy- That chili looks to be really good eats.

I hope that everyone’s kids are in a better state today than previously posted.

I hope that everyone mending is still mending w/o the aches and pains.
