Oh, yesterday's hunch about the error code on the van was correct: There is no fan relay, and the ECU is complaining about a ghost. Turns out the ex-mechanic tried to copy another company's design for a simple voltage divider circuit that would simulate the missing component, but botched the job. The correct part from the original maker is on order, and it might head off a couple of other similar issues. Also ordered a spare belt for the A/C, since the faulty compressor he also installed is putting a heck of a load on the belt that's in there now. I should probably get a new compressor on order, and start learning about air conditioning systems as well.:confused2:

I continue to be impressed with Wingsprd and Kyle's ability to fix their own appliances, much less RNG who seems capable of fixing anything,
too bad he had to endure a bag of snakes with the van. Well, one way to know exactly what you are driving when you've fixed most of the
systems. But I'm inspired by pictures of the insides of the dryer. Just make sure you unplug it first drew....

I need to take my pc apart and vacuum the insides, long overdue. Fan is running more than it should.

Lastly, for you computer whiz's, I have a Core I7-7500 2.7ghz with 12 gig ram, in my Acer Aspire laptop. Has worked exceptionally well for me.
I sold Acer computers in my Radio Shack a long time ago. Never been an Apple person. Once upon a time
I knew what Edit and Edlin did. Now I wonder if I'm missing something by not having an external RAM drive or
how will I ever figure out how to Skype on this thing.
But I've heard they are up to tenth generation processors now.
Have I been left in the dust?
Break it to me easy...;)

since I haven't stumped it yet, and it performs reliably, I'm going to assume it's still plenty fast.
but I'm just guessing. I started with PC's, XTs, AT's, man then you were blazing along...and then it went to
Pentium I think and the cores started increasing and it got harder to follow. I paid for extra memory for this because
I knew that helped in watching videos or streaming whatever. Nvidea Gforce 940mx for those who follow this.

this laptop plus my Verizon Mifi work well together, no pixellation on movies.
Try to connect to rv campground wifi and it's rarely a good experience so for two months
I'm going to get Verizon to give me the max, little Mifi works great.

I wonder if we have gotten fast enough already and more is just silly or bragging rights.

Voila! I had forgotten to plug the two heater element wires back onto the connectors after installing and testing.

I saw that in your pic and was going to mention it . . . .

Happy birthday KMC !

Good morning, Sunny Day. 78˚F now heading to the mid 90's a chance of rain this afternoon.
The Hiking Club is working on a State park today but I'm taking a break. We finished the trail correction so it is now out of the future retention pond.
Went to Ford and ordered a truck replacement, might be here Monday. There sure is a difference in sales techniques and the first two Ford dealerships which were on borderline deceptive. Even though this dealership was not a costco authorize dealer I knew the discount and that is where we started from and then added all current incentives exactly what I thought it should be going in. The costco dealer called me when their truck came in but within 1 hour before I got there they had added $1,700 "dealer add-ons" which negated the "costco price". My dealer added no add ons. Started reading the 400 page on-line owners manual while waiting. Through the key you can programed a top speed and radio volume control for a teen driver, yep, I need that.

Drew an external drive would be good for backup of your system they really are cheap now can't afford not to have one if you have anything worth saving!!

Good Saturday Morning. Its 75° and very humid this morning. Forecast says 94° this afternoon and rain chances are low .... here in the "rain repel zone".

I got a good start on mowing along our roads yesterday till a little pop up shower popped up. It rained just enough to turn the dust on the cab side windows to mud making visibility difficult, so I quit. I'll pressure wash the tractor this morning and finish mowing roads later today.

Randy .... glad you got to take the Monte Carlo out.

WNG .... the "Dryer Whisperer". if you complete the job, the thing works, and no parts left over.

Buppies .... helluva a weight reduction program? . Good luck.

RNG .....ever consider putting a remote operated "shock collar" on your former mechanic to use every time you find one of his "oopsies" ??

Ron ..... Boyz and mud .... doesn't get better than that.

iPhone / iPad updates. As I was driving up to the Texas Hill Country, last week, I was listening to Rush and he said that IOS 13.0 was problematic, with lots of un-fixed bugs. He suggested turning off "auto updates" and wait until the IOS 13.1 release on Tuesday. I did that after leaving our Internet / cellular free Canyon Thursday and all seems ok, except getting reminders to set up "Apple Pay", several times a day, on both iPhone and iPad.

Hoping for an excellent weekend for everyone.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Tried to sleep in bed last night and started hacking up stuff so I stuffed myself between two pillows to girdle my ribcage in my easy chair and let the fun begin. I was running ~90%O2 +/- 5%/pulse ~100BPM. At some point I returned to my 55ºF bedroom and fell asleep. I woke up almost dry early and craving Prednisone. :( O2 = 95%, Pulse = 82BPM, Blood sugars = 106. Loaded up on the meds and inhalers and took Dog Walk #1. Returned home, stabilized my breathing O2= 95% +/- 3%, Pulse = 105 BPM +/- 10BPM. I think the #’s show definite improvements so that’s the end of my recording #’s here. I am definitely on the mend. I’ll compare my oximeter to my PCP’s Monday.

It was a mix upper level clouds and sun this AM with 41ºF as today’s low temperature; 54ºF with increasing sunshine presently; and I anticipate today’s highs to range in the mid to upper 70ºF’s and mostly sunny. I might seem some rain showers tonight we really need some rain. Plan for today = Dump run and try to manage the Prednisone and caffeine driven energy and try to keep out of trouble. Grilling some brined and jerked chicken breasts for dinner tonight.

Kyle- I wish your middle daughter a happy birthday and hope everyone gets their cookie fix as anticipated. Thanks for your +’s. Today is my last day of 40mg of Prednisone; tomorrow I start to taper down in dose; and this coming Wednesday will be my last dose. I could easily become addicted to this drug if I let myself.

Buppies- I cringe every time you report another biopsy taken. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Phil- Leaves have been dropping for the last few days here as well. Not much color here yet probably due to lack of rain. I really hope to get some decent Fall pictures kayaking next week.

Billy- Good luck with your dermatologist. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers. I am happy to read you were able to repair your clothes dryer successfully w/o some spare parts left over.

“…. I continue to be impressed with Wingsprd and Kyle's ability to fix their own appliances, much less RNG who seems capable of fixing anything, “- Drew. I agree I am happy that I can barely comprehend what they and what most of you guys do. The fund of knowledge here should be preserved for future generations if there are any.

I hope that everyone has a decent weekend; projects get completed as anticipated; and everyone has time to get some deserved R&R.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Jay, hope you improve and you get to a stable condition again.

Got the last poster from amazon and the vivid colors were just what a drab wall needed, even though it is terrifying. RNG do not click on the pic.

The FireWise club wants me to display it in the Grand Ball Room at the next FireWise meeting.

Don- That is a powerful image. If a fire broke out around here we're probably toast. I would not be surprised to see NWS issuing "Red Flag Alerts" around here soon. We are close to drought conditions, lots of windfall, and now the leave are dropping. Lower humidity some decent wind will meet all the needed criteria and it could happen this coming week.

...And thanks for the +'s. A nurse from my local healthcare center called this AM because they knew about the "Daily Double" and saw that I accessed urgent care Thursday and got meds prescribed and X rayed. She told me the X-rays confirmed the pneumonia. It could have been ("Dr." Jay speaking) aspirational pneumonia from the endoscopy, but that's the cost of business. We talked about what's going on; she ? the aggressive approach and I allayed her concerns as to the reasoning. She loved my data :cool:and even Dr. J's "analysis"

Wifey surprised me recently about a new found interest in Plant Based Diets.. I am now going through my food files and recipe books for vegetarian meals we like (maybe add/subtract chicken or fish as desired). Are there any decent cookbooks that you recommend?
