69 and humid...going to 92.

Wife returned midday and Coco and I were happy. Coco has a way of producing a big smile showing her teeth when extremely happy...me, too. Wife loved "new" room I made for her, especially the wine rack.

Congrats, PJ on your anniversary and finishing your remodel. Once your wife feels better I hope you can celebrate.

Larro, glad you're not getting another hurricane on your side of the state. I remember the photos you showed of your tree devastation.

Don, hard to believe you were late signing up for anything...you're not losing your touch, are you? But I bet the next level up Pilates will be more your speed and challenge you more, which you will enjoy.

Eric, thanks for explaining the thistle issue. I fully understand your quest. However, think how nice of a "doghouse" you could build for yourself.

good morning all. Warm muggy day, storm starts tomorrow morning, and forecast is getting a little worse, now up to 7-9 inches of rain and 47mph sustained winds, who knows about gusts. Very wet area starts right near me and goes East to Ocean.
Friday morning will be peak winds, peak rain, should be a very interesting morning. I bet my entire front yard will be under water.

stuff like this makes me wonder if I should put sand bags around my backup gen...36 hours of torrential rain, after a while has nowhere to go but up.

will be a busy day but just going to work my checklist and get it done. First doc appt and go buy insurance for RV, which clearly won't be delivered on Friday.

Hope all are on the mend, sending you a man hug Ron.

65 this morning and headed to 89 today.

I think I’ve got all the logs cut up. Put a call into timber buyer. No return yet. I’ll try again today. Now to finish sorting and stacking. Birds started leaving last night. 3 more barns to go. Will get 2 tonight. Have to move a tractor in today. Time to cut hay again.

Drew. I started reading your post and was going to ask if you were sand bagging your generator.

Larro. Good to see you back. You still training for the AP trail?

Kyle. Sorry to hear about your daughter. Don’t be afraid to talk to her therapist about the behaviors. Did she ever get into ABA? Nothing wrong with bribing. That’s how we get our son to do stuff. The goal is to get them to do it. Then as they repeat it you reduce the bribe or reward until they do it without one. For our son candy and goldfish work wonders.

Good morning! finally 69˚F, the lows have finally broken the below 70 mark, Golf cart drivers have jackets - a sure sign of fall approaching. but still heading up to 99˚F. No rain expected for a long time.

I was thinking of BEF under his Subaru changing the oil when we were on the floor doing contorted pilates moves, I survived for another session tomorrow.

The Gardens had a major water leak about 50' from my garden which is a raised bed so only walking around my garden was slushy. We have a water line repair SIG that was going to take care of it so I did not have to be interrupted from the little bit of tractor work needed around the gardens. It sure is nice having a lot of helpful neighbors.

For those with EGO equipment I have heard of 2 incidents (brother and neighbor) where the battery life became prematurely short. The company stands behind their product and my brother got a replacement battery after running some test while customer service was on the telephone, my neighbor has not called yet.

69 early and heading to low 90s, probably the last time this year. Looks like we might get tropical storm conditions Thursday night and Friday. I worry about the beaches all along the east coast.
Got PT coming in a few minutes after that I’m not sure, might venture out for a drive. I’m walking better but still weaker than I like.
First prep appointment tomorrow with cardiac surgeon that will do the TAVR procedure sometime this fall.
Got my guy coming to mow today, I still can’t get use to somebody else mowing my yard.
BEF and Ron, prayers for healing.

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 5:15AM. Sunshine and a few afternoon clouds. High 97F. Winds light and variable.

The full toilets may help explain why the camp emptied out so early Saturday and Monday mornings as well, Eric.

Are they setting up stations where you can get sandbags, Drew? Out here it's BYOS: They supply the sand and the bags, but you have to Bring Your Own Shovel and fill them yourself.

The turn signal problem on the red bike turned out to be a loose plug under the tank. By now the plastic in the connectors is 38 years old, and the tabs that are supposed to keep the connectors connected are long gone. A zip tie now takes their place, which I should have installed in the first place, but instead mistakenly hoped it wouldn't be a problem.

Removed the brake rotor, cleaned it in the parts washer, then with hot water and strong detergent, then bead blasted it, finishing with another hot water bath. New pads and it's already working better even before riding enough to bed in the pads.

The noise in the electrical system was due in part to sparks jumping from one of the spark plug terminals on a coil to the underside of the fuel tank. It had burned a hole in the rubber boot over the spark plug wire at that point, and polished a small point on the tank. Glad I caught it when I did, as it could have provided a very interesting experience in external combustion. The solution was to remove two standoffs under the coil bracket and move the coil away from the fuel tank, and install a new spark plug lead boot.

The other coil had worked off its mount so both got lock washers and LocTite on the fasteners. Again, no one to blame but myself on that one, too.:confused2: Maybe instead of shake down rides, I should call them shake off rides?

I'll take another short one this morning before meeting the fire truck neighbor lady and what I hope is a civil engineer she's hiring for some work on a remodel she and her husband are doing on the former drug house they purchased. Perhaps the engineer can get me over my signature and stamp/building department hurdle on the solar array support.

Short week and it's Wednesday already. Leaving for another motorcycle trip tomorrow to Sequoia National Park with the Airhead group, meeting a friend on the way in the foothills. Good riding, and this time camping in the tall trees at a cooler 6400 feet of elevation, with only a few dozen people and a well attended pair of pit toilets.

Ordered one of these solar powered string lights, and it showed up yesterday. Should make finding my tent in the dark a lot easier.

RNG, that’s a beautiful spot, Sequoia. It’s been nearly 50 years since I was there, I remember driving through one tree in my brother’s 68 Firebird.
Looking at those trees that are 2000 years old and older, and the size of them, is very humbling indeed.
