Good evening all. 80F this morning, clear, light wind. Got windy today, part of the neighbor's tree blew down, sky got partly cloudy, high temp was 100 HI 112. Skipped bike ride this morning (may have been mistake), went straight to mowing got all lawn done and stringtrim done, shower and nap.

Randy and Buckeye just work on your recovery, don't overdo it!!
PJ Hope that is goo news on the move out. Wave hi on the way bye going to San Marco
RNG the iron oxide on the hot roll is nasty. We used coated carbide (TiN) to get under the scale. And yes there are different grades of carbide. What kind of cutter are you using?
Hawkeye prayers for your daughter recovery.
Love the Winslow pics.
Nice tribute video.
Jay glad you had good vacation, not knowing how long you married, not so good :2cents:
PJ used to got to the Black River Lodge and float the Black River in inner tubes

It was this one from Amazon. I paid $35, and frankly I didn't expect much. Now they want $90 for the same thing, and I'd have been really disappointed at that price point.

The sun is chasing the mist away a lot ealier today, with thundrstorms expected in a few hours. Yesterday it took a while for the hay to dry off, though it was fine by the time it was baled in the afternoon and all covered in temporary stacks before tea time.

JB, sounds like you had a great time paddling in the Adirondacks, I'm as close to envy as it gets without turning green. Hope those beavers leave you a little open water for your return next year.

I like to soak anything hot rolled overnight in citric acid. It's much kinder to me and the steel than other acids and the mill scale just slides off.

59° at O'dark 30.

Eric. Glad you got your hay done.

Dad is almost done cutting his fields. Got stung again the other day. He also burned a hornets nest one evening.

Wife bought a gal jug of sevin, ready to spray, and sprayer doesnt work. So she brought up the sevin pump sprayer ftom barn that i always use, it won't spray. I messed with it out the back garage door.
Suction hose appears clogged.

After i came in house, wheelchair was tracking greaae in house. Apparently came from the barn sprayer, got a clump on a wheel. It came off wheel and vynel floor with goo off.

Almost med time for nerve pain. Then try for more sleep.. I'll count Eric's sheep......

60 going to 78 and cloudy again. Last few days not like any August I remember.

The only hot roll I'm familiar with melts a nice spread of butter and soaks in my belly overnight. I wish you guys were next door neighbors (well, not too close, maybe a mile or two miles down the road :) ) so I could learn about some of these things you do...and "help."

Randy, great news that you are planning a trip to Bermuda...maybe it's a honeymoon?

Took Coco for a hike nearby yesterday to test my aching hip...did 3+ miles with only a twinge or two. Met up with the biggest, handsomest German Shepherd I've ever seen. Both of the seniors walking him had a leash on him but he was well trained, thank goodness.

77 degrees at 5:30 a.m. going for a high of 86 and the rain started about 3 minutes ago.:cool2: It's wonderful.

And at 7:45 a.m. the temperature has come down to 71, my rain gauge has just over 1" in it so far and we're still getting a light rain.

Visions of Bird out frolicking in the rain in his yard...;)

yard help comes today, should be a busy morning.
Okra and peppers need picking, still another half dozen birdhouse gourds growing.
Growing them for Garden Club but I'll sure keep a couple for myself. Can never have enough birdhouses.

good news Toppop, good motivator to get in shape. Bermuda is one of my favorite places, have taken the cruise there many times, brought home rum cake
each time, some of those little glass figurines from the glass shop in the Dockyard.

hope JD calls me today, want to get my mower back. Both my tractors and mower are at dealers, feels naked here.

Thomas, I forgot to answer your question...yes, on the turnips...at least I've planted brassicas a couple of times but didn't they did so well. I'd forgotten about them as an option, but I have another couple of plots to plant for winter, and one might be ideal for them...thanks for the reminder. BTW, "my" bears are back, at least in the woods near the house...haven't had them come up to the bird feeders.

RNG, I buy most all of my seeds at the local Feed and Seed store...an old "historic" wooden building with a sagging main floor and no air conditioning...can be much hotter inside than outside on a summer day...free roaming cats sleeping on the seed bags, waiting for night so they can go on the prowl.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 68° with light rain this morning. Heading to 82° with rain ending in morning. Afternoon chance of sunshine. Got lawn mowed yesterday. Hope to peck away a rubber tiles around garage. See how everyone feels today.

Randy, good plan for spring cruise.

Buckeye, hope you get the sprayers fixed.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Drew, a man without his tractor and mower. Hope you get them back soon.

Wngsprd, hot rolled has a black finish that will flake off. Cold rolled looks like bare metal if no rust.

Anyone use one of these new premix spray jugs? Has open/ close a hose and spray nozzle with trigger. I dont know how the jug gets pressure to spray.
