Good morning! We have clouds! 77˚F high of only 95 and a 25% chance of rain.

The garden's tillers are broke and I'm in the Repair SIG and the Tiller SIG is getting a lot of request to till gardens so that will be on the agenda this morning. We are at the end of summer and starting into the preparations for the Fall gardens. The Tiller SIG will do a good job of tilling your garden for $25 and all of that money goes back into the Garden Club to keep things running smoothly.

The Green House SIG is in full swing and will have transplants of Fall veggies ready to plant in about two weeks. Also on Sept 21st is our big Fall plant sale for the neighborhood where we sell plants we raise and specialty plants we resell to finance the Club's expenses (which includes our tractor).

Nice Drewmobile, I see I'm in the middle of hi.

(SIG = Special Interest Group, neighborhood lingo)

Early taste of autumn 47F clear sky :dance1: low 70's for high :cool2: low humidity.

Ahhh the day we all dream about in Texas in August! That first blast of cool air. It will be here in October.

Good morning. A very pleasant 23C/73F outside here too Thomas and set to continue for a few days.

Woke up with my right arm aching. It could be a result of too much fun hammering away at brickwork yesterday, or a result of my usual stupid habit of rolling over in the night and trapping it underneath. My back is a little stiff too though, so more likely it's just a reaction to the thought of farmer cutting up all that timber.

BEF, glad you made it back home ok.

Ron, hope you and Betty can enjoy some better days now most of the hard decisions are out of the way.

Drew, that looks a very plush RV. A lot of money but well spent if it opens up a whole new set of adventures.

Good morning all 58 degrees heading to the upper 70's today. I did get the grass cut last night after it dried out from the morning rain. Today's plan put the FEL on the Deere and repair the wash out at the bottom of the driveway, I have neglected it for a few months and now better fix before I need to do a front end alignment on my truck. Will also make a trip to the grocery store pick up what I need to make dinner for my daughter's tomorrow at the lake, looks like meatballs, sausage and sauce was the request.
Drew good looking rig wish you many miles of smiles and happiness with your adventures.
BEF like Dorothy said in the wizard of Oz, there is no place like home. Keep at that PT your tractor will be calling.
Kyle I have had Tinnitus for years, trips to the range and to many sirens.
Have a great day all and stay safe

Ahhh the day we all dream about in Texas in August! That first blast of cool air. It will be here in October.

Yep, we always have some hot and some cool weather during the State Fair in October. And today is the last day of the North Texas Fair in Denton.

I did all the mowing yesterday in hopes that it was going to rain. But I went to bed last night about 8 p.m. and we had not gotten any rain. However, with 74 degrees this morning going for 93 and high humidity, I went out back and found my rain gauge had about .48" in it. I'm not sure whether that happened before or after midnight; just glad to see it.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 52° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 74° with partly cloudy skies. Never got to yesterdays project. Back on list this today. Need to spend time sending condolences to my Uncles family in Oregon. He passed earlier this week from Alzheimer. He was 88. Have 2 Aunts left. They are more like older sisters than Aunts.

Drew, you need to modify your RV trip to include Michigan. Better yet, a nice fall color tour and break-in trip.

Buckeye must be sleeping in.

Prayers for those in need.

Good Morning All.

65 and cloudy going to 79. Thomas, feels like Autumn has arrived here, too...at least for a few days. We've gotten good rains for 4 days in a row.

Bird, you're a nice neighbor!

Buppies, glad you have a lot of jobs lined up. Not thinking retirement yet, huh? Thomas has only about 80 days to go, I think. I'm sure he has a countdown clock.

59° and sunny in BEFLand. Home sweet home. Dew on the grass. Nice not being woke at 5 am, then 6 am, then 8 am. I set alarm for 8am to take my 6am med, the one for nerve pain. Got nice foam mattress on a twin bed in FR. Woke up once and took tylenol. Did not take the codine based pain med yet, since ive been home.

Wife is scrambling some eggs. Sitting in loaner wheelchair which is not comfortable. Couch is much lower, hard to get back up in chair from couch. Bed is little lower. Got enough strength now to lift myself pretty good. After breakfast will do exercises.

Camper is nice drew. The dynamax i looked at was 24 ft, RB. The bed dropped down from ceiling. That one had no slides. I can sleep at a lot of nice hotels for the cost...

More latet as i find things to get into.

Good Saturday morning! It's 75° here and very humid with forecast for 95° this afternoon. There was rain all around us yesterday but the showers missed us completely. There was a nice drop in temperature though, about 3 p.m., when the temperature dropped from 93° to 75° in less than 20 minutes.

I decided to take advantage of cool and do some mowing on the ZT. I jumped on the Kubota but, about halfway between the shop and house, a bolt of lightning hit about 1/2 mile south of the ranch. Needless to say, the mowing plan got scrapped.

Have to to attend a VFD meeting this morning. We're starting our process to raise the funds to build a new Volunteer Fire Department/ Community Center building. I was appointed lead on securing grants from government / private foundations and large donors. That will absorb the rest of my morning.

I need to put the grapple back on the 55 hp tractor and pickup some big branches from a couple of dead trees in the back of one of our pastures. We've now got 7 huge burn piles awaiting rains and the end of our burn bans.

BEF .... glad you're safe at home. It's great when intense mission planning ..... results in a great outcome. Take it easy and make steady improvement ....... your goal.

Drew ...... that's a VERY nice home away from home. Looks like your southern route gets you pretty close to Don, Kyle and me. I'm 38 miles south of La Grange. Do you still have the shelter you built for your previous RV?

Ron .... y'all remain in our prayers.

Randy ..... hope you're making improvement daily.

Don ...... sounds like a busy fall with lots of seat time in the gardens. Is the tiller work all done with a walk behind tiller?? That's ...... hard work.

Hope everyone has an excellent weekend.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 5:30AM. Sunny. High 99F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

No sign of fall here at all, with near 100F temps predicted for at least the next ten days. But as long as I can soak myself under the outdoor shower and sip a cold beer or two, I don't mind so much.:drink: Which is exactly how the day ended yesterday, after the fiddly jobs of reassembling the clutch linkage and filling the fork tube, then getting absolutely filthy wet sanding the orange peel off the fuel tank, then buffing it back up to a new penny shine again. Gosh, does that buffer throw the compound around; seems like most of it ended up on me!

I don't see a dot on the giant meteor crater or petrified forest or the Grand Canyon on your map in Arizona, Drew, or a dot in the Big Bend country of Texas, and it would be a shame to come all the way to California and not spend time in Yosemite or along the coast, especially since April-May are, at least in my opinion, the prettiest time of the year out here. There are some beautiful parks full of redwood trees in the SF Bay Area, though, and Bakersfield is known for it's Basque restaurants. You'll be able to see the corner in Winslow from the Eagles song, and I can tell you where the best breakfast burrito is in Albuquerque, after which you can visit the Atomic Museum. That's a lot of territory to cover in a little over three weeks, and with no farming planned for next year, wonder why you're in such a hurry to get home? But first you have to get that new van home, Drew. Was delivery included, or are you and one of your lady friends going on a rescue mission?:applause:

Eric, I hear your back and right arm telling you to knock off the repointing for a day or two. Besides, your efforts are making the rest of us look like a bunch of slouches.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, Ron. After Alzheimer's though, he might be in a better place.:sorry:

Rain in the middle of the night, Bird? I'd call that perfect timing!

Sounds like you're caught in the cross fire with respect to the tillers, Don. Hope there's not much wrong with them that a little cleaning and adjustment can't fix.

I think I see myself spending some quality time out on the driveway with a bucket of suds washing the van and the red bike once I'm done tinkering with it. Another good activity for this warm weather we're having.

Which reminds me, I keep forgetting to ask David what his favorite brand of flip flops are? I pulled the piece that goes between my toes out of a pair last week, and though I got it back through the hole, it keeps coming back out at all the wrong times...

Hope everyone's weekend is both productive and relaxing, if the two aren't too mutually exclusive...

I'm sensin' you need a vacation. Give it a month to cool off a bit and comon out. Pretty sure I can put a smile on yer face...

You don't know how inviting that sounds. If my kids were grown and out of the house, I would jump on it. Thanks for the offer.

Don, I will donate $50 if you all come till my garden. :)

Ahhh the day we all dream about in Texas in August! That first blast of cool air. It will be here in October.

The other night, it cooled to 87F outside and was low humidity. It felt so nice with a decent breeze.

Drew, you are welcome here to our humble but lively abode. Would love to meet you. My wifey makes great decaf coffee. I know, I just had some. If it were me, I would plan a Texas trip to avoid summer.

We are still in a heat wave. It hit 103F yesterday while driving home from San Marcos. A shower just barely brushed our place, but almost no rain fell on us. Not enough to get the topside of a cow wet.

64 this morning and headed to 79 today.

I’ll stop by the funeral home on my way to TSC. I need some clamps to repair pond pump. Was going to pick them up yesterday while son was at therapy but those plans got changed. So I’ll do it today and hopefully get the expensive (county) water turned back off. Then I’ll be back on the tree cutting. Shouldn’t have to worry about over heating today.

Drew nice wheels. Glad you got the one you wanted and don’t have to wait all winter. I agree with RNG. Don’t rush the trip. When I make my western loop it’ll be 3-4 months. I’m going to enjoy it at my pace. Of course I’ll leave in May or June and I’m going north into Iowa and the Dakotas then to Montana and probably Alaska. Then I’ll come back through California, Arizona and Texas in September or October.

Buckeye nice to here of your great escape. Can you get the therapist to setup your workouts in the barn? Give you an excuse to get out of the house. Honey, I’ve got to go do exercises, I’ll be in the barn.

Eric I’ll hold a chain saw all day and you can have all that pointing. My thumbs and wrist are tingling just listening to you. Precision work like that lights the CT in my hands up.

I used to fight carpal tunnel. Never been operated on for it.

I attribute cordless drills and impacts for remedying my situation. I try my best to only use a screwdriver as a pry tool... :)

.

I told wife on the way home, if i can get in the seat, i can run the ZT, all upper body. Think i can do the brake. Hard part is getting in the seat.

Getting in kubota will be hard also, if my legs give out getting in, it wont be good.

Wife said how can i get you to barn. I said ranger, im sure i can get in it.

Oh well, that stuff will wait for now.

Just watched my sec cam video of the ramp build. Very well engineered, course he's an engineer also.

   / Good morning!!!! #98,175
thank you all. I'm only going to do this once, or honestly in my case twice, since I broke down the last time...
I think the trip will be five weeks, not three. Will be staying for several days in many stops, the route is just the approximate
road routing the software came up with based on the rv campgrounds I'm staying at. But I can move the route and the rig is small enough I can
get to most areas without a problem. I'm going to move this out of here, for several reasons, including keeping trip suggestions all in one place so I can
start taking notes. Don't want to do that here. Well, if I can take a picture of a volcano erupting or something, and survive, I'll surely post that.

I'll feel a lot better once I figure out how to work the dash cam I just bought for the rv. So I don't have to drive and try to take pictures at the same time like last time, out
that huge windshield. This has a much smaller windshield. 128Gig memory card, think it will record for quite a few days. The trick is how to
get the info out of the unit the easiest which I assume is just popping the memory card out. But maybe a data cable can be plugged in...not helped by
absolutely awful directions in I swear 3 point text. I had to get a magnifier and still the settings options were indecipherable. One of my closest friends used to write
instruction manuals for a high end multinational company and we laugh about this stuff. Wondering what the credentials of the original writer was.... Am sure it helped he did a long stint as an English teacher.
No English teacher wrote this manual for sure.

nice haul in the veggie run this morning, washed and bagged. Refrigerator is cram packed with these bags; I really should take a load
down to the food bank. Just my luck I trip some alarm even though I've been given the door key code.
I think I'll wait until Monday when I pick again in the morning and then can take a whole carton of produce down to their cooler.
Rest of garden looks awful, weeds everywhere, not too worried about the Garden Club coming back to inspect...
Okra is 9 feet high in spots, trunks are like small trees. Remarkable vegetable.

Hi guys, checking in to see how you all are. I had an ordeal unrelated to my heart but it was resolved. Went to dinner with friends last night. I had a couple of appointments yesterday that required a bit more walking than I’m up to yet, so my knees are sore today. But I’m alive and kicking so I’m not going to whine about it.

Our weather has turned beautiful today, 75 with a NE breeze.

BEF, Ron and Betty, I’m still thinking of you.

73°F and .04 inches rain

Another successful few hours brushhogging. Couldn’t help but comment to wife how blessed we are to have such a pretty piece of God’s paradise. One of the neighbors told wife he’d like to put cattle back on the property. Guessing he’s seeing how lush compared to current pasture. Of course, he’d have to do some fencing on 2 sides so not holding my breath.

To town for lunch with the retired military crew.

Glad everyone is finally back home and on the mend. Jay
sounds like you are have a great time

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Just saw you’re home, wow, great news! Don’t get ahead of yourself. I can’t get on tractor yet. I’d love just ride the property.
Congrats my friend!

Out with the 14ish year old mower and blower and in with the new mower with a power lift snow blower. Old one was to heavy for my 82 year old father in law to pick up anymore. This one is just an electric switch operated. Hope it last as long. Oh. 6 more horse power too.

A bit more $ but tend to last. Probably works out to under a dollar/mon for me.
I alway have 2 sets, different colors, the newer pair being for town/dress, older for home/work.
