Checking from Piseco Lake, Piseco, NY. Yesterday was hectic mowing the “lawn,” weeding, and mulching the garden. Today it was a trip to the doggie gulag, and later a trip to Piseco Lake. 86ºF is hot for this area. I averaged +31mpg in Wifey’s Forester. I averaged +30mpg during our SC/MD travels last week.

No (Verizon) cellphone service here. WIFI seems decent so far.

Rick- Nice shot. Too bad the hawk did not save you a round.

DABSGT- You have a beautiful boat. I wish you a great boating season.

David- Thanks for sharing your vacation pictures.

“…. You think on a lake this is really safe. Well, usually...but you have to watch the weather. And it can sure change quickly in hot weather.
Drew- Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Weather can change very quickly on Lake Piseco. Give me a couple of cold ones and I have a couple of sailing tales.

Randy- Thanks for the update. God luck.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

So that's why I'm so strong. There's a steroid-like chemical in spinach.

Mostly, make sure you don't eat too much spinach if you will be drug tested at a bike race, you could get disqualified for doping.

For the rest of us, if you have a project that requires strength, eat your spinach to triple your strength. Like Popeye.

Research study out of Germany:
German scientists say spinach chemical should be banned from sports | News | DW | 25.6.219

The study was using the same chemical in spinach at a dosage that equals eating 8 pounds of spinach a day.

I just knew all those episodes of Popeye were right! (and not wasted time).....I loved seeing Bluto get his can kicked.

71F clear sky upper 80's for high.

TBN must have had hiccup this morning all I got was 502 Bad Gateway. :confused3:
After work set on mower for couple hours give the lawn much needed haircut.

Enjoy the day all.

Yes, bad, bad gateway. We need an email repository, so if the worst actually happens to this website, we can still keep up. Somehow. Maybe a kind party could keep everyone's emails, and alert the rest of us singularly where else we could hang out. Should always have a backup plan, since we are so dependent, and it is a possible single point of failure.

Good (Late) Morning!!!! 72F @ 10:30AM. Mostly sunny. High 86F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Yeah, the Bad Gateway got me this morning, too.

That pad looks real nice, Kyle. Must be nice to have that much level ground available.:confused2:

Thanks for taking us along on your vacation, David. You're seeing some beautiful sites!

Turned a couple of spools to lengthen the legs on the big dirt bike's center stand yesterday, and got 'em welded in and ground flush. With a little luck I'll get a coat of paint on it today. Still have some adjusting to do on the muffler location, but things look like they're now headed in the right direction.

The solid coupler replacement for the viscous coupler on the van arrived yesterday, too, so I can put the front diff back together and see if that makes a difference in the vibrations.

Also picked up the insurance checks at FedEx yesterday. They sent more than I expected, a pleasant surprise. Time to get serious about that new tractor.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Move on out. Neighbor's place is for sale. :) Not nearly as scenic, and plenty hot. But not much gov't intrusion either. We just had to pay $20 for the building permit for this shed, since it is for agriculture. It would make a wonderful picnic area, covered, but the sides let the breeze blow through.

Get better faster toppop. Congrats on the upcoming wedding.

A shower put an end to my outdoor fun for today. It is too hot for this kind of work...but..whatever.

It doesn't look like you've been loafing much there. Good progress.

Toppop, hope you get better day by day. Prayers.

My kid must've been playing Tarzan and broke off the top spindle of one of our 4 post beds. I took it to work and re drilled the dowel out of it, made a new custom fit dowel out of grey CPVC and bingo....Mama's happy.

Did some shredding/slashing/bush hogging this morning. Maybe about 10 acres worth. It sure needed it. First time since last fall. The temp got too hot, so I called it a day.

Friends coming over on Sunday. Going to make some more home made ice cream.

Have a blessed day all.

Randy 8 days to fully recover you got it made. Down hill from here, your could coast to the alter.
(But don't try more than a pound of spinach if you have kidney issues.)

Too many greens in your diet can over supply your body with too much vitamin K. This happened to my brother.

Good evening all. 72F this morning, light wind, mostly clear sky. Moderate wind today, sky stayed mostly clear, and high temp was 94F. Bike ride this morning, charging boat trolling batteries, was going to try and get some dirt plugs from POA but the pile was gone, so drown my sorrows with nap.
David neat pic, is that where miners had to haul the 1 ton of supplies over the top of the mountain?
Randy, sounds like progress to me. Continued healing
Mike, nice progress, and good timing on shower:D
prayers for all

Nice to see no 502 "Bad Gateway" errors this morning. I've made a few impassable muddy gateways in winter, so I can't complain. No mud today though, we are told to expect high temperatures as some of the heatwave from France spills over our way. I need to get on and attack some thistles to stop them seeding in the wetland while we still have a bit of mist for cover.

8lbs of spinach and a 5' monitor lizard neighbour - Don, have you been eating those wild mushrooms again

gonna be a hot one again, 75 going to 95 today. I hid in the a/c mostly yesterday afternoon.
plans are to deliver the last of the baby potatoes to friends this morning, then back to putter.

Since there's a little a/c unit in there, might work in the wood shop this afternoon. I can't get a belt pulley off my
band saw to replace the broken belt, might work on that some more. When you loosen everything and nothing moves,
I just look at it and say talk to me, and it doesn't....

I'd like to start a thread where everyone reports in how many hours they got on a mower/implement belt before it breaks.
I'd love to study that, bet misalignment of pulleys on inexpensive decks are a big cause.
Buppies, how long did that z turn belt last, mower or drive belt?

drinking hot coffee and trying not to sweat. Summer time.
Eric, they say Europe is on fire, record heat wave. Need to find a cool pub, right?

Drinking first cup of coffee. 68° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 84° with partly cloudy skies. Had to water all the new shrubs and moved tree yesterday. All the rain we had in may and June it now almost a drought. Spent a relaxing afternoon in cool house. Not sure what I will get done. But the list is getting longer.
I think I figured out why am tired everyday. A 4 pound over energized puppy. When it is let out it likes to run the whole yard at least a couple of times. Since a 4 pound puppies is good size for a chicken hawk that are continually flying over our place. I have to run with it. Average steps per day are over 8k. But what a enjoyable addition to our family.

Thomas, I noticed how much better my was cut now that things have dried out. Now I need to sharpen the blades.

Drew, my 2002 JD mower still has OEM belts on it. Some do not look good. But they keep running drive system and mower blades. I do have replacements. Mower has a little over 900 hrs on it.
The report I read said that the weather in Europe is about the same as 1947. The current heat wave beat that years June high temperature by .1°. But 100° F + is too hot for me.

Prayer for those healing.

Good Morning All.

What Buppies said. On weather and Week. LOL!

69 outside, it is b e a t i f u l. Heading to lower 90's. That shower that came through to stop my day, dropped an inch of rain on us in just under 20 minutes. Then, it was a golden sunset for the evening.

Today, I need to move some piles around. All that wood, I need to salvage, would make for a nice outbuilding floor. Wife has two more buildings she wants to see down. Why she didn't want this ten years ago when I was in my prime, I have no idea. LOL.

Have a great day all. Be safe. Since it is the weekend, enjoy it and slow down a little.
