BEF- I hope that your lungs heal quickly. I never wore a mask either, despite all the Drs.'s recommendations. They are uncomfortable, restrict airflow, and look freakin' silly on someone operating a tractor. I did wear a respirator mask working with epoxy on my sailboat for a while after I first got sick. My recent 7 hours cutting/recutting the lawn got me hacking too. I'd rather take a "belt" of OTC cough medicine after mowing than wear a mask.

I have noticed recently that the last few trips traveling the interstates my respiratory system starts congesting after a couple of hours on the road. A couple of hours after the drive I clear up. I wonder if highway "particulate matter" is irritating me?????

Being an allergy sufferer and a somewhat frequent user of automotive paints and solvents, I've been using dust masks and respirators for a long time. The last one from 3M, a size medium, seemed too small for my face even though it didn't leak, so I just ordered a disposable version in a large. I also didn't like the restriction the medium imposed on my breathing, especially when out spraying herbicide for several hours. I don't remember ever having that trouble before, but this one features disposable filters, so maybe that's the difference. The new large is totally disposable, and that's what I've usually been purchasing.

During the Camp Fire, we wore N95 dust masks anytime we went outside, and for the first couple of days, inside, too. I purchased a dozen of these masks, which feature an exhaust valve that's supposed to make breathing easier. I had the same problem with restrictions. It also has a sort of foam gasket to make it seal better against your face, but it also felt too small. Could it be that my face is putting on weight?:confused2::laughing:

Enjoyed some steak wife cooked on Traeger last night along with some fresh potatoes (store bought, but local fresh). Daughter/SIL passed plumbing inspection after a minor correction. They can proceed to finishing prepping for concrete slab now.. there SIPs are being manufactured in the next couple weeks, getting exciting for them, some big checks are getting written as these major steps progress.

I went in with them on a Wacker BS50-2 that was reasonable, thought we got a dud, but just needed carb cleaning. They will use it for their house build, then I get to use it for some projects here, then expect they will get it back and use it on their shop build in a few years...

Started back up on our deck/porch project.. plan on using aluminum deck boards (same as another member here). They are spendy, but not that much more than other choices and they should never need replacing. I told the wife last night that she has to decide on a color soon, we want to order in the next month, maybe sooner.

We have also started back up on the house painting project. It is over due and we need to do more prep than normal, including replacing some boards.

Lots of things going on, I don't like to have so many things going at once, but we won't get them done if we don't get them going.

100F and done working out in the dirt gym for the day. Had to go down 3' to get to the PVC feeder line, not two like my notes said. Note to self: just because it's easy to dig a 3' deep slot with a trencher doesn't mean you should. And for cryin' out loud, screen out the rocks when you backfill. I didn't, and Mr. Digging Bar gave my arms and back a really good workout. Enough so that tomorrow's first job is mounting the backhoe on the tractor to hopefully reduce the shovel work. Even if I end up breaking the PVC, it's still a LOT better than shoveling. Now if only the tractor will stop breaking...

Maybe instead of a nap this afternoon, I should get back to tractor/track steer shopping?:confused2:

Almost 2 hrs to get home. Huge backup on interstate. I did a no no and used the emergency crossover. Still took a long time working my way around. All the back roads were jammed and multiple accidents on them now.

I have three little problems.View attachment 609625

Sort of ruined the pool day. I tracked them to their den under an old outbuildings.

We had skunks that wanted to live under our front porch at our Fayette County Ranch. I put moth balls under there and it drove them away and they were never seen .... or smelled again. They got our German Shepard twice. He was happy to see them gone too.

Good evening all. 70F this morning, mostly clear sky, calm wind. Sky clouded up this afternoon but no rain yet, wind stayed light, and high temp 92F. Have wind and rain in forecast so hardcore summer pattern not started yet. Another putter day today, trim around trees, worked om weeding front flower bed, took nice nap, then went to dinner with wife stepdaughter and her boyfriend.
Egg pic that is the world's largest Czech easter egg. Wilson Kansas has a large percentage Czech ancestry, the egg is to honor that. They put a lot of work in painting their Easter eggs!
Drew congrats on potatoe harvest and glad epie pen worked.
RNG hope you get the solar backup working before you need it!
Mike that looks like one big problem not 3 little ones :thumbdown:
