Im feeling the effects of mowing last night. Lots of coughing today.

Saw a bunch of wild raspberries as i mowed last night.

How i wish we had a potato harvester when i was young. Spent many days picking them up from the ground. We always wanted to be the one who drove the tractor while dad ran the shovel plow behind to dig them.

Lungs recovering from pneumonia are incredibly sensitive to airborne particulate matter. I was advised to wear a surgical mask when kicking up dirt and debris operating my tractor. I did not and suffered the consequences as you.

Take care of your body or it will take care of you  and I post from experience the results are rarely pleasant. Please take care.

Jay, how many hours do you have on your JD455D?
That's the grandfather of my X750, they really haven't changed much, maybe 10 percent more power.
Is that what you mow with?
Travel safely.

Yes, should have worn a mask.

Drew- If I remember correctly it had ~+2K hours on it before it "checked out." It was becoming too costly to maintain. I really liked that garden tractor. Now I have a JD D130 for "lawn" mpwing.

Traveling the Interstate or highways in general I try to get behind a couple of big rigs running slightly over the speed limit and respectfully follow; 2nd choice- find a couple of cars doing the same thing. My speed demon days are over; speeding tickets can get expensive.

BEF- I hope that your lungs heal quickly. I never wore a mask either, despite all the Drs.'s recommendations. They are uncomfortable, restrict airflow, and look freakin' silly on someone operating a tractor. I did wear a respirator mask working with epoxy on my sailboat for a while after I first got sick. My recent 7 hours cutting/recutting the lawn got me hacking too. I'd rather take a "belt" of OTC cough medicine after mowing than wear a mask.

I have noticed recently that the last few trips traveling the interstates my respiratory system starts congesting after a couple of hours on the road. A couple of hours after the drive I clear up. I wonder if highway "particulate matter" is irritating me?????

One of the people who mows at work always has a mask on.

I need to mow my field, which i normally do with the massey. Think i will take off the backhoe and use the kubota with cab. Only had BH off once, was a pain cause one pin is tight, had to use sledge to remove the first time. Not tonight though.

Jay, for several years I had to drive the Parkway and Turnpike almost daily throughout NJ.
Turnpike was the worst approaching Newark Airport.
The brown haze in the air was clearly visible, and by the time I got home my eyes were burning and red.
Cars have better cabin air filters today, often with charcoal elements.

waiting for boomers, saw the radar get nasty, shut doors on barn, came back in.

I saw a small doe hanging out at the end of the driveway. She slowly made her way up the driveway and back through the open gate into the pasture. Been getting some pics of one on the game camera behind the barn, but they're night shots, so may or may not be the same one. Got some grainy pics this time through two panes of glass with the iPhone at max zoom.

She just checking your garden and no intention grabbing quick snack. ;)
