Porta power, log splitters,TnTs, etc... got me to thinking. Turns out my screw jack only has 9 inches travel at best. A lot of work to make 41 ft.
So I’m thinking, hmmm, I have an unused hydraulic cylinder from my first flail mower. Managed to mangle the hoses so hanging on the wall. I also have my recently arrived hydraulic offset for my new flail. Still in the box as this propane thing has had my working attention lately. Wondered about length of hoses. Appears they are just long enough. Hooked them to old cylinder and tractor. About 13.5 inches of travel for that ram. Should be able to get at least 12” usable. So, modifying my approach and will let the cylinder do the work. I think I can do a better job of straight on push than with the backhoe. No idea how much power, 2 inch cylinder and will be powered by my rear remotes.
