I think I will make that a priority item when choosing a new vehicle. The ease of changing time. I changed it on the Forester this years driving home from the store - an am still alive to talk about it.
My forester time is rather easy to change, even has DST option so you dont need to actually changethe hr.

That was the first deal that the dealer wanted to give me (CostCo deal).... I laughed... When I mentioned the 2 invoices they get (dealer retail invoice vs. dealer 'cost' invoice) plus the dealer holdback cost, we then started dealing on a different level. Final price was $500 BELOW dealer incoice, + 1/2 of dealer holdback (-$250), plus $2,000 more for my trade than initially offered. MSRP was $33,595, my final price was $28,265. Don't hesitate to "get up to walk away"...
I bought my hyundai via costco program, didnt thinkit helped much.

Most dealers will start out higher than the Costco auto program price, but if you at least have that price, you know that is the most you need to pay. A bit of shopping and negotiating will generally yield a lower out the door price...

When we bought wife's Tahoe (used), they of course wanted to start with monthly payment, I let them ramble for a few minutes and then said, we're trading in our GMC Terrain and are only interested in difference (net we pay after tradein), not in tradein price or anything else. They finally got it, a few trips back to the manager/finance dept and we wrote a check, moved our junk to the Tahoe from the Terrain and drove home..

WIFI is really slow????

A before and after picture. Those ash leaders by the propane tank were beyond my level of expertise with a chainsaw.

This is the best negotiating tool I've found. I've only ever had to actually leave once, back in the mid-'80s when buying a BMW. Guy called me a week later and met my price.

This is pretty much how we buy vehicles as well. My Wife learned a lot about automobile negotiations from her Grandfather, who was a master at it. She's not far behind. Most sales people are visibly taken aback by her straight-forward business tactics. It's entertaining to watch.

Happy belated birthday Jay! Tree work looks great.
No snow here today, was just rain when I left for work. Sunny and in the high 50's. This wind sure is a blowin though.
I am having troubles with my internet also. Reset the modem and the router and still comes in and out. Wind issue somewhere I guess. Prayers and good thoughts for all!

Yep.... I really pi***d of the sales guy right off the bat....probably didn't help that I told he he didn't know diddly-squat... We got on better terms after he knew where I was coming from. The "sales manager" was soon taking over the deal. He seemed shocked that I knew so much about the 'behind the scenes' type stuff. He must have asked me 3 or 4 times what dealership I worked at.... I don't think he believed me when I told him that I never worked in the auto industry whatsoever...

I have to go without my wife.

I walked on my first hyundai deal, we had negotiated back and forth via email. When i went to buy, the price they wrote up was over $1000 more. Lady got sarcastic with me, i told her this wasn't how i do business and walked.

Ended up going to another dealer, agreed on price before i went in. Everything went smooth. Had my oldest son with me for both visits.

When i bought my GM truck, i had a "pay what the dealer pays" deal. Walked in, dealer said he could do even better. That was in 2008 before the govt buyout/steal.

My subaru, i walked from local dealer who wouldn't come down $300 to match another dealer. Negotiated that one via txt message. They gave better price, local dealer wouldn't budge. Sold. That was the least painful process ever. Although they did "forget" to fill the tank, they did later.

planted native sweet persimmon trees, Elliot pecan trees and fig trees this morning. Hard part was often getting the subterranean root out of hole, from the pecan or whatever that didn't make it before. Then snipped my first kale and spinach for a nice salad tonight, and ate my first radish.
Never grown a radish before, cute little things, all Christmasy. I ate a few that had split from the rain, juicy, spicy and mild.

David/Sodamo, those vertical storage cabinets remind me of the ones on yachts and large motorhomes. Great way to store a lot in a compact area and be able to find things, not hidden way behind something.

Jay, happy birthday. Are you "holding" at 39? Are you wiser or are you still looking for the tv remote you lost? :D
