thanks Ron and others. There were over 100 people in the parking lot with daffodils, must have been very
neat to see. I'm feeling a lot more positive today, yesterday brought back way too many memories I have tried to bury.
As we get older, so many of our friends pass, and it simply isn't easy dealing with it.

cold clear morning, blue sky, looks like a nice day. Off to foot doctor, then home to pick collards.

Glad the flower power went well. Glad you had a bunch of helpers come pick. That should be a life boosting time. Sometimes little kids don't do an accurate job, but they can out pick many of us older goats.

Hey guys, got busy early and missed the party today. Nice new truck!
Had some final insurance paperwork for contents collaboration from my building fire in July, 2017. I think this is the last of it, had to be in before July.
Hope you all had a good day, and have a good night.

Good evening all. 37F for the start, calm wind, overcast sky.Wind stayed light, sky cleared to partly cloudy, and high temp was 61F. Choir practice for the start, then mowed front lawn, then lunch and bike ride. Dog walk uneventful.
Have been hand sharpening chains with some success. Use a depth mike when filing the stop, using the file helps me be more consistent with cutter geometry, may try the dremmel when I get better:eek:
RNG using a pressure sprayer sounds interesting to refill rear axles.
Drew, glad flower display and picking went well.
prayers for all.

30 outside this AM. Heading to 50's. Managed to get more firewood out of the maple. Also came across a twelve foot hollow in one branch. Only about two or three inches were live on that "branch". But that was one reason the tree had to come down. Back rest today. Off to a city job.
Have a great day all. Be safe.

You get the traffic fun everyday.........

Hopefully the early start this morning limits the traffic fun.

26 and going to a high of 36 °F. Wind SSW 19 gusting to 25 mph. Periods of snow mixed with rain.

Today I take the Dodge to the shop and pick up the Jeep. I also get to pick up the center caps for the new rims.

Other than the vehicle swap, I am doing nothing.

Have a good day all

37 going to high of 50 with big storm coming in later today, going up the coast. High winds and lots of rain predicted.
at least my truck will finally get a wash job, covered in gold pine pollen.

errand to run this morning, then likely an inside day in the rain. Going to try to get a pic of the collards piled up on the veggie
table at the food pantry. Potatoes are popping up in the field, nice to see
long lines of little green plants. They will get plenty of rain today.

40 degrees going for a sunny 70 today. This is a nice time of year and my favorite temperature range; it just doesn't get any better than that.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 33° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 52° with lots of afternoon sun. I was tired yesterday evening. I was on my feet all day watching the duct cleaning/sealing guys doing their job. Cleaning lady coming today. Hope to get some rest in afternoon.

Very impressed with job guys did yesterday on cleaning ducts and sealing them. They started out cleaning ducts which took about 4 hours. Very thorough. Ran air hoses with nylon sticks through ducts to break all dust and dirt loose. Then vacuumed out the ducts clean using a air hose and vacuum.
When ducts were cleaned they started the duct sealing process. First all the heat vents were sealed off. A 12" duct was cut into plenum on furnace. Then duct sealant machine was hooked to it. Initial test showed that there was 300 CFM (equal to 56 sq in hole) leakage in the ducts. After sealant was added leakage was down to 33 CFM equal to 6 sq in hole). When the heat/cool ducts were done they started on return ducts. Initial test showed showed 422 CFM of leakage (equal to 79 sq in hole). After sealant was added leakage was down to 49 CFM (equal to a 9 sq in hole). The duct sealing process took a total of 6 hours including doing vacuum and cleanup of the house. They did not get the house dirty. But a lot of things were done that can make a mess. Very careful workers. Time will tell how much savings I will see from the process. I was looking for comfort improvements. But I can see a large difference how much heat makes it to the Master bedroom and bath. All our ducts are in the ceiling. Should see some improvements in cooling this summer.

Drew, glad you got the crew.

Roy, training for an older guy? :D:confused3:

Looking, car swap could be a good productive day. Stay away from dealerships. You may end up as a buyer like LS.

Riptides, my back hurts just reading your tree removal project. Take care.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Ron, very interesting. What did they use for sealant? Was it applied with a spinning applicator tip?

Prayers for our team, silent and asked for. Ed too.

35°F this morning and forecast says 71°F this afternoon for 36° change.

Ron, your duct sealing should be an energy saver for you. Saw similar process on the Holmes & Holmes show a few weeks ago, on a home they were refurbishing. They resolved leaks in ducts then worked on leaks around windows and doors.

Hoping to get to last of tree trimming if winds stay down today.

Everyone have an excellent Tuesday.

Prayers to all.

The product is patented. So at this time no info. It is sprayed in to plastic duct in mist form. It keeps adding to itself when it finds a leak until the leak is closed off. Smells like Elmers Glue All. Here is a link to the company that offers the product. Company I used, Amistee.

I've read some places that claim the duct cleaning is a money making scheme; almost never needed. However, my A/C company recommended it, with their guy doing it, of course. And since my wife has advanced COPD, I figure anything that even might help her breathing was worth a few dollars. So we had that done just over a year ago (March 6, 2018).

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 5:15AM. Rain showers early becoming a steady light rain for the afternoon. High 61F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

Sounds like a significant improvement, Ron. And much easier than sending men up into the attic with rolls of duct tape!

Seeing that big maple on the ground like that made my back hurt, too, Rip.

Finished the shifter install on the van yesterday, and reconnected the linkage to the transaxle. All five forward gears now work, as well as reverse.:dance1: First time since I got it back that they were easy to find as well. In the process I discovered a missing rubber boot on one of the links, and got that on order along with a new seal for the front differential. Then called the Kubota dealer and got a new u-joint on the way; they must be very proud of it to charge over a hundred bux for it.

It's an inside day, so I'll call AT&T again and find out why they haven't credited the charges they made while the phone was out. Then see if I can get a fire going under the contractors, who all seem to be busy with other work. Then out to the garage for some carb action on one of the bikes.

Hope everyone enjoys their day...

Cold air return ducts were the dirtiest. They clog up your filter. I agree on cleaning. But for the duct sealer to work. Ducts need cleaning.

Interesting project ron, thanks for sharing.

I foil taped my attic ducts. I dont mind some leakage in the return. I never connected the return duct on my basement geo unit, since basement is part of it's zone.

Return better be the dirtiest, since it sucks in the air and hopefully filters it.
