Well, that is a surprise. My brother said he had a huge single gallstone, and the doctors said to leave it because it was too big to pass into the duct and cause problems.
Interesting. Mine was large and was to large to be removed normally with Laparoscopic Gallbladder Surgery. They cut another hole near belly button. Pulled it out that way.
What happens with a large Gallstone is it blocks the bile from exiting Gallbladder. Then it all of a sudden lets the bile out. This causes the flu like symptoms. What it has to do with a cough I have no idea. But my nextdoor neighbor in AZ had the same symptoms. Fought it for 20+ years as i did. You do not want an infection or ruperture. The bile will get into areas that will make you very sick. This is my layman description. Dr may explain it differently.

46 right now....high in the low 50's and rain today.
Got to pack up for a trip to CT (work related)...that's about it.

62 going to 57? Radar shows rain coming in, now only 5 or so miles away. So out in a minute to feed birds, listen for gobbles, and do a few pre-rain chores.

That a real nice marker you have for your dad, Lou.

Sorry to hear about the gallstone, Kyle.

Roy, glad Suzette is getting better.

Thomas, trade you some fresh roasted coffee for some maple syrup? :)

We took my wife parents to another assisted living community and they picked it...sign some paper work...now the hard part of downsizing and moving them from NC, choosing new doctors, etc.

Been busy trying to get a couple of last loads of firewood cut and split and stacked. Yesterday, spent 7 hours on the tractor including bush hogging about 6 acres and grappling some fallen branches over to the rabbit brush plies. I think it got up to 78 degrees, but was breezy enough to stay cool.

My bracket is still hanging in there, thanks to UVA winning in OT. I knew I should have picked Texas Tech.

Need to pour fist cup of coffee. 21° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 34° with partly cloudy skies and NW wind 20+ mph winds. Got about 1" of snow overnight. May have to clean snow off walkway. Need to find something to do inside today. Then NASCAR from TX in afternoon.

Prayers for all in need.

Good Morning All.

Good morning all. Warm morning with rain coming in at lunch time, bringing with it colder temps.
Until then, about 73 the high. Sun is just coming up, sky has rosy tint everywhere I look, very pretty, but good sign of rain coming.
It's a supermarket morning and then an office afternoon writing unpleasant tax checks. New tax code with changes in deductions didn't work well for me.

Did a lot of work yesterday outside on my feet, lovely day, but need a day of rest, which Sunday should be anyway.
However I still hear lawn mowers and power equipment fire up Sunday morning. Actually if I had a hitch on the electric golf cart I would put down some lawn fertilizer I found in the shed, but I just won't run power equipment Sunday morning. My own quirk, but a sensitivity learned over a lifetime of sitting quietly praying and trying to tune out outside noise. Maybe I should wear my new noise cancelling headphones, ahhh technology.

Like Drew, warm early, cool rain later.
Cookout went well, kids, dog and grandkids played soccer in the backyard until dark.
60 now but falling in the afternoon. Heading to the grocery store and breakfast for the crew before they all head home later.
Have a good one folks, God bless.

PS; I won’t run mowers and such on Sunday morning either. Respect is earned not given.

20 °F and going to a high of 28. Wind NNW 19 gusting to 34 mph. Periods of snow. The powers that be say another inch on top of the 3-4 that we already got.

I'll be plowing today. I am glad that the snow came, it was the convincing factor in NOT putting the BH on.The 7 day forecast doesn't look good. Rain or snow all week.
I will probably put the BH on next weekend.

A dump run is in the cards for this afternoon.

Have a good day all.

Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 4:45AM. Mainly sunny to start, then a few afternoon clouds. High around 75F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Glad they found something to fix, Kyle. Hopefully it'll clear up the symptoms from which you've been suffering.

Glad the battery problem got sorted and the Jeep will soon be home, Bill:thumbsup:

It was smooth sailing down to the SF Bay Area day before yesterday, but I'll never get used to the traffic. My buddy made Cowboy Stew with his own twist: a jalapeno pepper, egg plant, and turnip added to the InstantPot. The TBN influence as leaked over to someone that isn't even a "member".

Beautiful weather for Mike's Celebration of Life yesterday, sunny and cool, perfect for a motorcycle or bicycle ride, two of his passions. I was happy to see maybe 75 people in attendance, and the small hall decked out in orange and black, SF Giants colors, with lots of folks in matching jerseys. A video played on a large screen with photos of lots of happy times, and even a few videos of Mike cutting up and reminding us of how lucky we were to have him in our lives. I was shocked at how strongly his twenty something son resembles him, in looks as well as mannerisms. The young man wondered to the crowd why his father never encouraged him to ride motorcycles, and I stood up and suggested his strong resemblance might have been noticed by his father, who concluded he didn't want to risk any of his motorcycles being used the way he knew they would be. That got some laughs, and that's what the celebration was all about. It didn't erase the feeling of loss, but it helps to know it's shared.

Traffic getting out of there was pretty bad, surprising for a Saturday afternoon but it only added another hour to the trip home. Gonna need to take a look at the brakes on the truck; they got a heck of a workout in the stop'n'go traffic and I think I can hear some squealing.

Got some work on the side-by-side and van to do today, and maybe burn a brush pile if the wind stays calm. Looks like the rain'll be back tomorrow, staying through the rest of the week.:(

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend.

Yeah, I hear you. I had an attack just before Valentine’s day. EXTREME pain, vomiting. Hospitalized. Next day, out comes the gallbladder . And wow, what an amazing procedure, that Laporoscopic technique! Got back to my hospital room at 3 A,M, and SWMBO picked me up at 10!

Also not a lot of postoperative pain. Four little surgery holes that they closed up with glue (!), so no big scarring.

BUT, the Docs said no heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks! That’s OK, I have my tractor blower, and SWMBO has been shoveling the snow off the deck.

OK, time for first cup of coffee, and now that my six weeks holiday is up, I DO have to shovel the 6” off the deck that we got yesterday.

I am happy to read that you are boiling. Did your sugaring season start late this year? Every sugar house here along RT 9 was boiling last Thursday.

Good 2 weeks starting compare to last five years...beginning 65 to 1 last weekend 48 to 1 and clear.

Good morning all,

20 this morning and a clear sky with no wind. It only gets to about 40 during the day so not much melting going on.

Prayers for those in need. I hope everyone has a good day.:)

Grey outside this AM. Yesterday was a bust with the chainsaw. Got one tree all cut up and put away. The huge maple remains next to a house and in the yard. Need big equipment to move it. Cleaned out a garage after the first tree and decided I was to tired for the maple.
Hope all have a good Sunday. Prayers and blessings of safety for all.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

A cloudy, foggy 45ºF for today's low temp, 49ºF presently with the cloud deck breaking up, but I do not expect it to get much warmer as a cold front moves in with rain anticipated. I see mostly rain Tuesday-Wednesday with a coastal storm and another mostly rain coastal storm Thursday-Friday.

Yesterday, female Red Winged Blackbirds were at the feeders. Coy-dogs/Coy-wolves were active early this AM. I have not heard them since last Fall. They were pretty close. Northern Canadian Geese were heard flying overhead. The snow/ice pack is definitely receding. I could probably drive the tractor now, but with the melting ice and snow and the developing mud I really should not move it.

Kyle- I am sorry to read about your gall stone. I hope you can find a comfortable sleeping position. They can be difficult if not impossible to find sometimes. Good luck.

Randy- I am happy to read that your family cookout went well.

RNG- I am glad that Mike's Celebration of Life was well attended. He'll live on in the memories he generated. RIP.

Check- Take care shoveling.

Thomas- I am glad that you had a decent sugaring season. I see sugaring winding down around here.

I hope everyone has a decent end to the weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Sugar season is just getting started here.

Re Canada geese: you can keep them all if you want. They are messy and a hazard to both road and air traffic.

   / Good morning!!!! #91,480
Good morning to all! Low went down to 28 after a cold front came through. Cloudy now, shower / t-storms expected by this afternoon. The kicker is now they are predicting 3-6" of snow for tonight....thought winter was gone...

Kyle, hope you are able to be somewhat comfortable, gall bladder pain is some of the worst. Are the docs going to try and remove the stones?

All this talk about maple syrup....having pancakes this morning....with store bought pure maple syrup. That stuff is sure 'watered down'. Doesn't taste like 'real' syrup.

Well the dump run didn't happen yesterday....something else came up. I knew it would. When I took the jeep in for service, I had started "negotiations" for trading it in on a new midsize pickup. The dealer called back and forth quite a few times. They finally met the figures I presented to them. They said "we took a big loss on this deal".... I doubt it... I just got a decent price and decent trade value. We went to town and signed and picked it up.

My 'off road adventure' days are pretty much over with, so a vehicle more conducive for our needs was in order. Drives nice, a lot more comfortable than the jeep. Didn't need a full size truck, thought about that for a while, just couldn't justify the $20 K more. Going from a 'manual everything' vehicle to one with all the bells and whistles is amazing. Now to just figure it all out. Mmmm...wonder if I can get on TBN through an app on the radio?.... I'll have to look into that.... Pics to follow.

Guess I have to use the new truck to go to the dump. I have to take it back in next Wednesday to install the trailer hitch and spray in bedliner. Guess unloading the dump trailer into the truck bed is in order.

With that said, I better get going......

Everyone have a peaceful Sunday. Prayers sent for all as usual.
