My vulture story, no pictures. I was driving into Columbus this morning, after getting a call from pharmacist at our local Walmart, that they had received more doses of the Shingrex vaccine and one had my name on it. This is for my second dose which you need within 60-180 days of receiving your first vaccination. My day 180 is only 10 days away so, didn't want to miss my chance and have to start all over @ $155 / shot. Anyway......
I'm about 12 miles from Columbus. Was driving down a Farm to Market Road and, as I came over a hill, saw about 20 vultures in the middle of the road ahead. There was also a stopped car, blocking both lanes, about 25 yards from the vultures?
I stopped behind the car, waited for about 30 seconds, with no movement of the car. I got out, walked up to the car, and tapped on the window. Driver was a nice lady, probably in her 80's.
I asked her nicely, why she was blocking the road? She said that she loved birds and this was so interesting ..... she wanted to watch.
The stupid vultures were puzzling over a snapping turtle that had tried to cross the road.
I finally convinced her that I was coming through (was wearing a VFD T-shirt) and she needed to clear the road. She finally agreed to move over.
I got back in my truck, put on a pair of work gloves, sped forward scaring away the vultures, slammed on my brakes, jumped out and grabbed the turtle, tossed him into the bed of my truck, and sped off.

My good deed ..... of the day.
