Good Morning Everyone!!!

A clear sunny 14ºF start to the day, still clear and temp is 28º; low 40ºF's anticipated. Temperatures will start to moderate the rest of the week and it looks like a wet weekend ahead.

That Jethro Belt can be converted to more adaptive uses;). Maybe I should market the adaptive knee brace belt garter. Suggested retail price $47.99

Bird- Take care. I hope the doctors figure out what is going on with your neighbor.

I hope that everyone is having a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good morning all,

28 this morning and cloudy, no wind yet but the weather guessers said it's coming.

With the snow melting I have a pond in my driveway. Gonna have to address that once the ground dries out enough to work on it.

No real plans today but I'm sure something will come up.

Prayers for those in need, hope ya'll have a nice day.

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 6:15AM. Thunderstorms. High near 60F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%.

Looks like a good day to stay inside with strong wind and rain on and off through tomorrow. It did clear up enough yesterday afternoon to finish the last of the smaller trees in the brush pile, but the ground around them was soft and with enough of a slope to make me wonder if I was steering the tractor or it was the tree on the forks that was doing it. Now I've got some box blade work to do there to level out the ruts once it dries out enough. Got a start on a fairly large oak trunk, the bottom eight feet of which is hollow and burned out, and a couple feet in diameter. I got some nice 18" rounds off another eight foot section above that, then hit a crotch that'll take some ripping at an odd angle to work down into pieces small enough for me to move. About then the big saw ran out of gas, it was getting dark, and starting to sprinkle, and it being past 7PM, time for dinner, too.

Most of the day was spent pouring over specifications and manuals for the solar system inverter and the generator to make sure they are compatible. The tussle seems to be over the controllers on each, as there can be only one master chef and the designers of each seem to have thought their's would be it. I'd hate to spend hundreds of dollars on a control module when all that would have been necessary is a few relay closures, so more reading and phone calls are on the agenda today. Hard to imagine that this hasn't been done before, but trying to find the right person in the huge Cummins organization has been a challenge. So today maybe I'll try giving SMA America a call to give it a go from the other end of the interface.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

You might be onto something there, Jay, but might it not also take a pair of suspenders to hold things up? But is there enough margin in your price to include a pair?:laughing:

RNG- Thanks for the laugh. I have not tied many knots since my sailboat became a lawn ornament. I just threw a couple of hitches together. I might pimp it out with a bowline or two and a sheepshank knot for adjustability. The deluxe model would list for $55.95 due to increased labor costs.

Suspenders would really help. The one's that I have require buttons. I forwarded a request for funding with the CFO. I really do need suspenders nowadays :embarrassed:

Lou- I never saw that style before; my interest in suspenders is relatively "new." Thanks for the link:).:cool:

eric, if you want it to rain, you need to wash the car/truck. Guaranteed it will rain.

~~~~~~~~~
Ron, that will be a frosty day in **** when I wear sweat pants.
I got me a new belt right now...1/4" rope. It will do until I get the amazon order. New buckle is a Celtic knot design. New suspenders are 2" wide ones with clips.
32°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 64° today.
I got nuttin' ... especially after seeing that "belt."
On the farm, there were several times i used baler twine to hold up my pants. The cows didn't seem to mind. Wouldn't go out in public that way,lol.
Nowadays I'm more likely to use a carabiner to pull 2 belt loops together.
now that's being creative!
good meeting at Ag extension office regarding county agriculture, number of commissioners there for free breakfast..., two reporters who also had little else to do, and a good discussion of a variety of topics. Next meeting is on farm economics, should be interesting.
Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
Thanks for the great ideas.
Randy, I think you are being straight with me about putting it into the freezer, but with all these stories of wives getting upset about washing stuff in the kitchen sink, I did wonder for a moment whether you were pullin' my leg.
Nope, not kidding, that is why I said put it in a plastic bag so you don’t get in trouble. Mostly had it right, the contraction rate is different and usually will easily come apart.
Got to about 52 today but very dry and breezy. Beautiful but not quite comfortable.
Had an early appointment to get my truck serviced and a rear seat a/c seal replaced.
Sprayed my Whitestone and flag surround for weeds that were popping up.
Dog and I took a short nap on the deck after lunch. Then we took a walk to the creek.
My baby girl will be 39 tomorrow, I guess I’m getting old!
Still have to get the Kubota ready to mow, put the aluminum paver edging down and get ready for flowers.
Earlier we talked about jury duty.
Once I was called to testify so I carefully clocked my mileage to make my claim.
Plaintiff pleaded guilty!
I went to claim and they only remitted mileage from my municipal extreme to their closest which resulted in about 1/3 of actual mileage.
Then they said since I was not needed to testify there was no remittance.
WTF, I lost 1/2 a day! NEVER call me again!
Another time I drove some 100 miles to testify as the complainant and was told the case had been dropped!
WTF, as the complainant I still think I'm the only one that can 'drop' a case.
Well the court official took me to a small room and handed me $500. to agree that I had dropped the case.
The accused was the judge's son!
Sadly I admit to accepting the bribe.
Yes there is justice out there. (could tell U more)
Mike- An "interesting welcoming committee." Actually I am envious. I've seen them, but they are still hanging closer to the CT River valley. One year a long time ago, one of my then semi-domesticated "feral" dog intakes drug a dead deer carcass home to the "lawn"; a great attracor for scavengers. It took a couple of weeks, but he and Sis/Mom? turned out to be great dogs. They took up residency in our out building and really wanted/defended a home base. I "scoped" (with my Marlin .22) the male sitting/laying on the outbuilding deck enjoying life from the roof of our house and chose another path. The male moved in in ~ 1 week; the female took 2. Sadly it appears that 2 domesticated "dumps" around here went/had to go feral. Two of the best dogs ever. When I licensed them the town gave me a kennel license. :cool: The male hated my "biker" exBIL; bit him in the @r$e every chance he had. He and she had great judgement.
PILOON- You did not accept a bribe. You only sunk to the level needed to transact an "honest" reimbursement.
Leak is fixed and I’m so confident of the repair I didn’t even check it, just covered it up and will check it the next irrigation cycle.IMG_2779.JPG
