Good morning!!!!

weather forecast was for half an inch of rain, now close to two inches and have lawn lakes again.
Good for the potatoes, which have had no rain since planting,
bad for the veggies already struggling from overly wet soil.

Storm is clearing out, going to work in garden shed this morning filling trays for next
stage, okra, squash and melons. Mainly sick of being inside reading a book, want to get something accomplished.

42 and rain going to 50 and rain.

David, glad you got the tractor home without any major trouble. I towed my JD mower up the hill back to the house yesterday, too, after I cut and unloaded a pallet of firewood.

Cool yellow cardinal pic. Never seen one, only pale yellow/salmon colored females.

Buppies, hope your Dr visit is favorable.

Don, how often would you exchange batteries?

51°F this morning and very light winds. Forecast says sunny and 76°F this afternoon. A Chamber of Commerce day for sure.

I'm planning on spraying fence lines, with Glyphosate / surfactant, today as long as winds stay calm.

It looks like rains will hold off, until the weekend so, the yard is close to being dry enough to use the 55 HP tractor and grapple to pick up all the branch piles from tree trimming.

Hope everyone has a great Friday Eve today.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 4:30AM. Partly cloudy skies. High 64F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Rain on and off yesterday left half an inch in the gauge, nearly twice what was predicted. Had a few peeks of sunshine at sunset last night, but not enough breakup in the clouds to see the full moon rise. It's out in all its glory now, though, bright enough to not need any other sort of light.

Interesting packaging on that "houmous", Eric. Over here, we have to squint at the fine print on the side of the box to get those nutrition numbers, as if the makers were so embarrassed about what they say they don't want anybody to actually read them. And if you bother to wade through them, the list of chemicals is impenetrable anyway. Don, do you purchase pre-made hummus, or do you make your own from more wholesome ingredients?

Imagine my surprise yesterday when the phone rang! Not the cell phone, but the landline that's been inoperative since November 8th of last year. Just like before the fire, it was probably a telemarketer, as no message was left on the machine. But I was able to use it again to make outgoing calls (for free) using Google Voice, which is the main reason for having the antiquated thing. It's also the number registered with the county's Code Red emergency warning system, as it's the most reliable means of communication available here. Now I'm left wondering how long it's been working, as there was no notice of any kind from AT&T, and especially no indication that they'll make good on their promise to credit all the bills I've paid since November for service that was not working. Still, it's progress back to a new normal, so I can't complain too much. Besides, nobody would notice anyway.:confused3:

Did some clean up and organizing in the garage yesterday, making some room on the benches and hopefully putting things away where they can later be found. Then finished up by sharpening a half dozen saw chains; that should hold me for a while.

Heard from a friend that lives a few hours south of here, also in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, but at almost 2800 feet of elevation. What passes for a road into his place was closed several times over the winter by fallen trees taken out by high winds in the 90 MPH range. He also sent photos showing more than two feet of snow on the ground that had him hiking out to the road to thumb a ride into town for groceries. And once the snow melted, he still couldn't drive out because the creek he has to ford was still running over six feet deep. His message included an offer of oak for firewood, but I think I can safely pass on that for now.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Don, how often would you exchange batteries?

I think they have a 3 year warranty but probably longer if you really take good care of them and it also depends on how many cycles you take them through. (From past experience mine have lasted about 4 years in Texas.) The lithium batteries would be the way I would want to go or gasoline. I'm in no big hurry because I'm waiting on winning that tractor April 1 and that will take up my garage space.

RNG, I make my own.

39°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 54° today.

Moon was quite bright this morning. Looked very "Springy."

Good morning all,

20 this morning and even though it's dark I can tell it cloudy. Storm coming in tomorrow.

While sitting in the family room last night our security lights came on. First I thought it was a malfunction but my wife seen a mountain lion cross the back deck. We knew they were around but have never seen one. Guess it's time to get a game cam.:)

It's a little warmer this morning 23°. Yesterday was nice and sunny with the high around 40°. It's going to be cloudy with a chance of snow showers and in the upper 30's today.

We are making the weekly trip to town this morning. That will take the better part of the day so don't have any thing else planned.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Today's low was 24ºF; 34ºF presently; low 40ºF's anticipated. Waiting for a true nor'easter tonight into Saturday. These coastal storms were a rare event this Season. Mostly rain here; snow maybe up to 10 to my west and north. Most years I would be bumming; this year bring on the rain.

David- Thanks for sharing your tractor retrieval pictures. I am happy you got the tractor home.

Trails End- Thanks for the link:cool:

"... Nasty mix bag of weather arriving tonight into Saturday AM,that should make the dirt roads real soupy"- Thomas. I suspect that you are having a decent sugaring season this year. Non-surfaced driveways and parking lots around here are getting ugly rutted already. This rain will not make things any better other than melt snow and create more mud.. Our driveway is wet, I have some geotextile material showing, but no ruts. After the trees are removed from our driveway I plan on some topping gravel/crusher run deliveries.

Buppies & Drew- Good luck at the doctor's. I hope you are both + surprised My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Drew- I hope the stabilizers fit this time. You do not need this irritation.

RonJH- I am happy to read that your Aunt is on the mend. I hope that you shake your upper respiratory illness soon. Thanks for sharing you Green Jay pictures. Wifey and I have never seen them before. Slow day bird counting here:(

Don- Wifey makes hummus with tahini w/o any additional oils. It is really easy to make (and cheaper). I love it with pitas (and veggies). I am finding that I can cook with far less oil, no sugar, minimal salt and still get flavor with garlic, spices, and caramelization with vinegars, especially good balsamic. Wifey and I are still researching air fryers. We were impressed with our friends' AF, but the basket was too small for our intended uses.

I need to get a game cam here as well.

Too much sensory overload researching out air fryers and game cams with all the makes, styles, and features.

I hope that Ted is ok?

I hope that everyone has a decent day today and those on the mend keep mending, and the walking wounded stay walking.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

We have a Cooks Essentials air fryer and the basket is 9 1/2" X 8 1/2" for comparison. It's OK - you just have to watch out when you slide the basket back in to line it up or you will be wondering why it won't turn on.

Jay the Green Jay was for you. 🤠
We had a kettle type AF. Gave it to our son. We got a Cuisinart TOA-60 AF toaster oven. Took a little while to get used to the timers and temperature controls. But is large enough for what wife wants to cook. Best prices are at Costco and Bed & Bath.
There is also a AF made by Breville. It is expensive and has problem with the AF operation in some reviews.

Anybody have a recommendation for a fuel/water separator? I need something for my parts washer that uses Stoddard solvent, as rain keeps getting into the tank.

   / Good morning!!!! #91,016
Good morning to all! Low of 40 this morning, going up to 52 early, light rain now, with a chance of severe t-storms this afternoon. Getting colder overnight with a chance of snow. Weather can't make up its mind...extreme swings in temps. It was 62 yesterday, calm and sunny....

I am feeling much better today, body aches are gone, but now have low back pain...where did this come from?... Probably because I stayed in bed most of yesterday. Slept off and on all day and was still able to sleep throughout the night. Must have been really sick.

Cough and stuffy nose is still persistent, sore throat is a bit better. Just feel 'blah' today.

Drew and Buppies, hope your Dr visits go well today.

Ron, glad to read your aunt is getting better. Hopefully you will also continue to get well soon.

David, glad you got the tractor up to a workable area w/o any additional episodes.

Jay, hope you don't have too much washout on the drive. Anxious to see pics of the upcoming tree project.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent as usual.

Don & RonJH- Thanks. I like the looks of the Cuisinart and both it or the 5.3 Qt size Cook's Essentials would fit under the cabinets. If our toaster oven was in worse shape it would be a no-brainer.

RNG- Thanks for the link. A couple of those snakes were really PO'd:eek:

I have no fiduciary interests based on my TBN accolades, but I really like my Mr. Funnel. It works great for diesel and gas. My biggest complaint is the ~2 oz of residual fuel that's left which I note in a glass jar to check for quality, freeze point, etc. and then if decent quality will return to the 5G fuel jerry can. I do not know how your solvent would work with that micro screen filter material.

Ted- I am glad to see you posting and you are slowly on the mend. The more I look at the jungle out there, the more I think that more trees should be culled out. Most of the understory vegetation is bird/animal attracting and the wild grapes are trailing throughout the upper tree canopy.. The abutting land trust is doing a major log cutting operation. I believe they will be clearing ~10 acres of tertiary growth trees to promote habitat for grouse and woodcock. I saw an impressive amount of trees already down and stacked for transport. I have ideal conditions for woodcock here and have yet to see any in 35 years.

65°F and no rain. Actually just started to.

Wife has hinted she’d like to go to Waimea for lunch at Chinese restaurant we like. Sounds like a good idea. Stop by PO on way by.
Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
