"... But Jay .... you've got an excuse for moving a bit slower.- Rick
So far the "bad knee" excuse works.;) I'll have to find another excuse once I can bend the knee. I do have some old standbys.

Fed allows me $1.60 per pound deduction for food given to food pantry.

Is that the organic deduction. Our CA takes the deduction from the organic veggies the Club grows and donates and It's more than $1.60.

Anyone with too much time on their hands can wash my tractors, ranger, vehicles.....

My wifes aunt passed this morning. Waiting to hear about arrangements. Her mom thinks it might be immediate family only, which is ok by me.

On a sad note, couple sisters at my sons college were going home for break and got hit, one is critical, and taken off life support today. Sons don't know them, but still sad.

Busy at work, skipped lunch. Youngest son made chili for supper.

Nice to have some daylight after getting home. Was very sleepy at work this morning. Got up to 60° today.

my stuff isn't officially organic because I use commercial fertilizers.
Don, it's what is written on the receipts they give me.

I looked out the back windows and thought it was raining. They fooled me.IMG_2729.JPG

And for a contrasting view, here is what I see out the window this morning. It is hard to imagine that, in another month or so, that big white patch will be all water!

Meanwhile, the rooster is freezing has AZZ off!

HA! Poor rooster.

Good morning! 56˚F heading to only 59˚F with a slow north wind. Cloudy 30% chance of rain today 80% tomorrow and 100% Wed.

Drew, you get to play with the big boys. You are probably right about the chemicals, at least that was the speciality of our county extension agent. I guess you will find out for us if they have any expertise in organics.

Everyone had a name for the new trail picnic area where the benches were installed. The name I chose stuck, "Twelve Oaks", and we put the name on one trail direction sign. At every intersection and place of confusion there is a sign. Old people need signs so they don't get lost. We have over 50 to install. Rebar is hammer drilled into the rock and then the legs which have a hole in bottom are slid on with adhesive. The wood legs are not actually in the ground.View attachment 595331

Don, all around you and to the west, the pioneers made fences by stacking stone. I wondered why initially. They couldn't dig a post hole in the rock. They use a certain sized carbide tipped rock bit on a Hilti drill to make a hole for steel Tposts nowadays around there. Talk about setting them in stone....

34°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 48° today. Weather voice on the radio this morning suggested we may be flirting with 70° by Wednesday. I happened to be driving through a patch of snow and sleet while hearing that.

Most of the weekend stormageddon stuff missed us far to the south on Saturday. We did get some bouts of heavy rain, but it didn't last much past noon. In fact, the afternoon gave us a fair amount of sunshine and mid-60s for temps. Sunday was dry but cooler.

I am not a fan of DST. If it's so important to everyone to have "more daylight" at the end of the day, well, just start the day's activities earlier. When the sun is at it's highest point, it should be 12:00, in my opinion. Most of our clocks reset automatically, but a few don't. Pretty sure we got them all yesterday. I was surprised to find that the little cube clock radio in the barn adjusted itself. I looked up at the wall clock in my office at work a little while ago and it took a few seconds to realize it was still lagging an hour. Need to fix that one.

I always get a kick out of people's reactions to that clock.

Love that clock. I would have used the cuberoot of 27 for one of the numbers. Any guesses?

I learned to like DST when I was young and working a lot, still had some daylight in the warm months to do things at home, play with my kids, go for a boat ride, etc... There really were no other options to have that chance.

Randy, we used to go water skiing after work. We could ski almost 'til 9 pm on the longest days. I was good at looking where the sun was in relation to the horizon and guessing the amount of daylight left. We could all ski for a long time and fought over who's turn it was next....Now, we all pass on our turn and say "No, it's your turn."

Had to clean the carb on the Deere's V-twin Kawasaki motor. It had a rough idle. It wasn't bad, the gas didn't have that "bad carb stench" but it was really dark orange. It was partially some of Buccee's ethanol free gas. Anyway, it went back together with all the old parts and gaskets. Fired right up, and idled perfectly like it should.

Need to find some baby squash plants, and some cucumbers to plant.

For the first day of spring break, the whole family went to the dentist for annual checkup. Mostly all good checkups. Yay!

Tomorrow, back to work.

A spring thaw tip to all: Take off the cowlings on air cooled equipment motors for a cleaning and to make sure that there aren't any rodent nests. A nest will surely burn up a good motor fast.

Drew, I saw that the Burch Store Tractor had a Super A power steering assembly at one time. It might be worth talking to those guys about your Super A. I think they are in North Carolina.

Rick, your pictures of your newly clean tractor reminded me that I still need to replace the screw and nut that fell out of the the top mounting point on my SMV sign. No idea when I lost it, but noticed it when I moved some snow back in January.

Good evening all. 48F for the start, overcast, light drizzle, .3 inch in the rain gauge, light wind. Wind stayed light, forecast rain mostly no show, just enough drizzle to keep the streets wet. High temp made it to 57F. Stove duty today, forecast temp was for 52F, but rain stayed away. Choir practice this morning as well as back on dog duty. Scooter got in a fight with something Friday night and has a limp, stepdaughter took him to vet Sat morning, nothing serious. His dogbell bark is not affected, ruined my nap day celebration
Buckeye sorry about your aunt.
PJ like your clock.
Don, they rarely run the GC sprinklers here in the day, mostly at night.
Rick I just want them to set up the equation to solve for PI
RNG hope for progress on the van.
Prayers for all.
